Marcel Atlanta Reviews
We went here for a birthday dinner.
The service was excellent. Our reservation was at 5. We arrived 15 mins late. We ordered pretty quickly, but did not receive our food until 7:20pm. It was ridiculous. We ordered the beef Wellington the night before cooked medium. It came rare and we sent it back because it also had a funny taste. We also ordered the tomahawk medium rare and it came rare also and was super gristle-y... the mushroom came cold and did not taste right. Didn't eat those... also got the pomme Dauphinoise and they were not very good either. Kind of crunchy. The French onion soup was not good either- very little broth and a TON of cheese. The Caesar salad had way too much dressing also. They gave us asparagus as a gift since we sent back our beef Wellington, and it was also undercooked, tough, and not good at all. They brought us asparagus, bone marrow, and a glass of champagne as an apology. Other than that they were't very apologetic. The bill was $780. Absolutely ridiculous.
This was a huge disappointment.
Especially for my finances birthday dinner. Our reservation was for 8:30pm last night, we arrived on time. We were seated at about 8:45. We ordered our full course immediately as my fiance was hungry and had already been here before and knew exactly what she wanted. However we did not receive our food until well after 10pm. Food was sub par at best. $300(not including tip) for a party of 2. We left still hungry. There are several other steakhouses in the Atlanta area that are much better. We will not be coming back to Marcel.

Came here for a sweet treat, crème brûlée and their chocolate cake but couldn't resist trying the bead service and shrimp scampi. We walked in on a Saturday night around 8/9 and sat at the bar, the bartender recommended the bread service while we had cocktails and it was a delight!
Everything about Marcel is spectacular.
I have dined at this establishment over a handful of times now, and every time is better than the last. The interior is dark, but sexy and inviting, and they have matches at the front to take as a nice little souvenir. You cannot go wrong with the bread service. The drinks are always fabulous. The steaks are truly a work of art. The only thing that I do not enjoy at this restaurant is the burger, and I think that's because I am very spoiled and having tried amazing burgers, if it wasn't put on top of a sauce that soaked into the bottom bun and made it very soggy I think that the burger would've been much better, other than that, I genuinely have no complaints. I would recommend the steakhouse to anybody in the city or traveling to Atlanta.
Absolutely loved the service, atmosphere, and food.
Alison did a great job with recommendations and making my night wonderful. The menu was hard to decide on but went with steak tartare, filet with sides, and baked Alaska for dessert. What a show.
I recently tried this place for my birthday.
Let me start by saying the ambience was great. The staff were all friendly and very attentive. We ordered several things. My steak was cooked well. I also enjoyed the mushrooms side dish and the chocolate cake. We ordered the mashed potatoes and scalloped potatoes. They were both very salty. The scalloped potatoes were crunchy. The asparagus just had a smokey taste. There was not really any other flavor. I asked for steak sauce. I ended up getting "Sauce Diane". I did not like it at all. I am aware it's not a traditional steak sauce. It was more of a puree. The taste was not to my liking. The side dishes definitely need work. They were disappointing.

came here for my boyfriend's birthday dinner and had a lovely time! ellen & tucker were over the top fantastic. we felt so welcomed and had an incredible dining experience with them! food was spectacular and exceeded our expectations. even when things were taking a bit longer, the staff was attentive, witty, and kind. i think what sets this spot apart from others is we felt extremely comfortable in the space, when other fine dining experiences can feel tense and cold, we felt relaxed and truly just enjoyed our time together in a beautiful atmosphere. thanks for everything! the note was so thoughtful. love to my fellow service workers
Marcel's is now our most favorite steakhouse.
The service, food, and ambiance were all exceptional, with no detail left out. We ordered the porterhouse medium rare, and it was perfection. The foie gras appetizer was also one of the best we've ever had! Every aspect of our dining experience was outstanding, and we can't wait to return.
Marcel was truly one of a kind.
We went to celebrate my son's 35th birthday. The Food was outstanding. The service and staff where so nice. He had the baked Alaska which was perfection, and the presentation was impressive. The steaks where huge and flavorful. This place is pricey but worth every dime.
This place never fails to amaze us.
We live 5 hours away so when we come to Atlanta this is always #1 on our list. I can't say good enough things. Service is great, food is great, environment is great!
Romantic Restaurant & Outstanding Food!
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Marcel’s, and it was beyond our expectations! I must admit, from the outside looking in, one would never guess that this restaurant is beyond romantic with outstanding food. Our server was Vedo and he was amazing. He provided us with superb service, as he was extremely knowledgeable of the restaurant’s history and food. It was a pleasure having him assist us. Moreover, did I say… the atmosphere is super romantic with food that is definitely worth the price. My husband and I will return very soon. Marcel’s might be our favorite restaurant in Atlanta.
Amazing experience
This place did not disappoint. Service was top tier as was the drinks, meal and dessert. Will definitely come back. Atmosphere was great, dark, relaxing.
Please review the copies text from Google.
I am thinking it fell upon deaf ear so please forward it to Mr. Baker. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.

Outstanding meal! Service was incredible and our server was very attentive. As an out of towner and not familiar with the dining scene we did not have any expectations before we made our reservation. We will definitely tell friends to visit when in Atlanta.

This is mine and my husband's second time here to celebrate
This is mine and my husband's second time here to celebrate another special occasion. The first time was back in 2021 and we really enjoyed it. We enjoyed it so much we wanted to come back and try one of their speciality dinner as our meal. We ordered the Beef Wellington. We called 24 hours in advance to request it for our meal. When we were seated, we were greeted and thanked for considering them for our special occasion. The servers brought out a griddled focaccia bread in olive oil, along with ricotta cheese, olives and peppers. It was very delicious and even our three year old who joined us for dinner really enjoyed it. We didn't have to wait long for the Beef Wellington to arrive at our table. We probably only waited 30 minutes or less before it was brought out to us. We ordered it medium as it was my husband's birthday and he likes his steaks medium. I would have preferred it was medium well. There were parts that were slightly chewy than others but I really think that had to do with how my husband wanted it cooked. It was still delicious especially eating it in that puff pastry. The beef Wellington accompanied our dinner with two shareable sides. We ordered the cacio e pepe and the creamed corn au gratin. Now I have had the cacio e Pepe before and didn't think too much of it but this second time was definitely different. It was so much more delicious the second time I had it. I felt like it had more of a buttery cheese taste to it than the first time I had it. The creamed corn was savory. The taste of the creamed corn had a deep and rich taste to it almost like eating au gratin potatoes. For dessert my husband ordered the crème brûlée. I have had crème brûlée at another steakhouse and it was not even close to being as good as we had at Marcel. Marcel's crème brûlée is absolutely divine. The dish was deep enough for our spoon to go down into and it was delicious. The restaurant is quite dark, too dark for me, even when heading to the bathroom. But I do understand that steakhouses usually have low lighting for the ambiance.

Service is outstanding very attentive staff drinks not constant two vodka cranberry different ice cubes one cubed and one came with bourbon style square cube? Ambiance to dark music little on louder side. Food horrible shrimp was over cooked oysters to much pesto veal Parm is full bone in not a cutlet and soggy breading Who was it called old aged beef Dry aged medium rare ribeye tough and overly salty tasted more like more like prosciutto.
$800 for two couples (Overpriced food / mediocre service) Go elsewhere!
Visiting Marcel is like an assault on your senses. How this place got a Michelin recommendation is beyond me. Someone forgot that the temperature for hanging their meat should be different than the dining room. Make sure to bring a warm coat - you'll most certainly need it. With the ambiance of an old steakhouse, you'd expect some subdued background music but instead you are subjected to unbearable off putting jazz. If White Claw had a sound, this would be it. Not sure if they don't know how bad it is, or if it is intentional to turn the tables quicker. Either way, it's a huge fail. As a birthday dinner we went all out ordering the $200 a pop Beef Wellington. By the way, you don't just show up for this, they dictate you must order 24 hours in advance. When friends called ahead to place the order we were told we could order 1, 2 or 4. Are we ordering steak or gambling? Turns out, we gambled and odds are in favor of the house. The person on the other end of the phone provided no guidance just wanted to know which it would be. We guessed 2 but were wrong. Correct answer would have been 0, and just show up and take your chances with the regular menu. But if you must order it, 1 is fine for the table as the huge slab. How this employee didn't know that is beyond me. A big disappointment was being told there'd be a wait for our wellington despite ordering in advance. Mind you, at this point we'd ordered appetizers so they could have and should have paced our main entree- we had ordered 24 hours prior. Instead our server decided to take the opportunity to ask us to order more food in the interim. No thanks. Fifty, yes 50, minutes later we were delivered 2 RARE beef wellingtons, NOT medium as we ordered. A point of pride is that they don't cook it until you arrive so it is "the perfect temp". They present the whole finished product on the table then take it away to slice it for you. By this time, we'd lost interest in the showmanship and were just interested in tasting this $200/pop steak. One bite in and the biggest question for this underdone cut of beef was do we spit it out in our napkins or just try and get some of it down by chasing it with water? But at least the service was on point right? Nope. They try to impress you with multiple servers, but they don't communicate well with each other, so you have to repeat yourself to servers, which only makes your meal even less enjoyable. With tip for two couples we spent $800. It kind of feels like being the victim of a grift. You've just been swindled out of a chunk of money but feel too stupid to complain so you just go with it. We really leaned into it, evening staying for dessert. They only have four on the menu and our server took our order only to come back and tell us they were out of creme brulee. That's on us for trying to end our meal on sweet note.
I have absolutely no clue how this restaurant has good
I have absolutely no clue how this restaurant has good ratings. The service was HORRIBLE. They sat and fed a table that got there after us before we got bread. They forgot my salad until after main courses arrived. I specifically asked for no bleu cheese and they put bleu cheese on it. The mushrooms were tough and gross. Steak was also gross. Everything was overly salted. The interior is nicely designed- the rest was a total disappointment
I love Marcels vibe overall.
It's very dark but it's very classy & nice inside. I really enjoyed the oysters, we had baked & also raw. The bread is realllyyyy unique & yummy. We had two waiters last night named King & Nick, who were absolutely awesome, really great service. However, the Tomahawk steak for me wasn't too flavorful, it was made well but lacked flavor. The whipped mashed potatoes were awesome, asparagus was also alright. If i had to come back i would just order appetizers & oysters with a glass of wine of course! I'd like to think we made a late reservation so I'll use the lack of seasoning as that excuse! I would return & give it another shot!
One of my favorite restaurants when I go to Atlanta.
The food and service is amazing. The setting is romantic

We visited Marcel Wednesday evening for a date night and it was not worth the hype! Food-We called 24 hours in advance for the Beef Wellington. It took about an hour and half for it to come out and it was very chewy (we ordered it medium) and salty, to the point where it wasn't edible. The scalloped potatoes and creamed corn just didn't taste good. Due to the wait (although we placed the order in advance it still took about 1.5 hours for our entree to come out) our server gave us a dessert on the house without us saying anything. We left plenty of food on our plates and the server asked if we wanted to box it up. We said no and he took the plates. Didn't ask if we were satisfied with the food or anything. The only decent thing we had was the Baked Alaska. Atmosphere-very loud and crowded and just a heads up you have to walk up stairs to get to the restaurant. Service-We had two servers and they were okay but forgot our napkins, wine and water refills. They were just very slow

Excellent service and food, however my steak was RARE and not medium rare. Like cold in the middle rare. The oysters and shrimp cocktail were fantastic and the scallop potatoes were probably my favorite thing we ordered. I probably should have sent the steak back, but our serve was so friendly I just felt bad doing so.
Great location if you're looking for a great steak
High end restaurant if you're looking for a night to remember. Best service I ever had and we're talking over 75 restaurants visited in Atlanta. My daughter had a shrimp cocktail and she said it was okay. My girlfriend had the Oysters and wasn't to impressed. All our steaks were cooked exactly how we wanted them. The side dishes are definitely for a group of at least 5 people. Try the mushrooms. No military discount, but the guy worked off over $45 on the bill. Nice gesture. Great experience and I'd go back.
Not worth the hype! Go to Little Alley, Chops, Hal’s!
Not worth the money! Unsure how this Atlanta steakhouse got its hype. Arrogant staff served chewy, flavorless, low quality steak (and we got the porterhouse for two, medium rare). GO TO LITTLE ALLEY STEAKHOUSE!!! Or Hal’s or Chops where the staff treats you like they’re happy you’re there and the quality of product supreme.
Dinner
My Brother in Law took us to his restaurant Marcels for dinner tonight April 4th 2023. The service and food was excellent. All of the staff & management were very professional & friendly. I would definitely recommend Marcels to friends & family:).
Was just OK
Visited for the first time… must say I was a bit underwhelmed by the quality of the food. Very upscale restaurant and the service was fantastic. However, for the price I’d expect a bit higher quality steak. Also, simple things like… they will not allow you to add tomatoes to a salad… even as a charge. I will say their bread service is spectacular, however for a $90 strip, I’ve had much better quality meat for less at some of the other steakhouses in Atlanta. Overall, great place however I was not as impressed as I expected given the prices.

There's definitely great ambiance here, and the decor is beautiful. We made reservations for 8pm and weren't seated immediately but it only took about 5 or so minutes. We were seated in the front area before you get to the main dining room which was kind of a bummer. The tables were extremely close; even the waiters had trouble weaving in between everyone. For appetizers we got the crab salad and the Caesar. Caesar was great, didn't care for the crab salad. I think the menu lists it as "crab mayonnaise", it was basically tuna and crackers. The bread service is wonderful, honestly that was one of the best parts. My entree was the lobster risotto and I added scallops. I'd give it a 9/10. My date ordered a steak that he didn't eat for whatever reason but it looked decent. Desserts were the crème brûlée and the chocolate layered cake which we devoured. I chose a French Bordeaux as my wine of choice and ended up getting the bottle. I would give this place 5 stars but the seating wasn't great and they charged my date $50 per drink without his knowledge. He didn't mind but we ended up spending about $600 for dinner here. That could have been my car note iykyk

I went to the very famous Marcel with my friends on weekends. Beef Willingtou must be a must-see. This restaurant is super popular. You must book in advance. Soup French Onion Soup (I think it is very salty) Beef Willingtou with Pommes Aligot (Cheese Falls mashed potatoes taste very good It suits my taste) If you want to eat Wellington, you have to call the restaurant one day in advance and tell the staff, then the chef will prepare two small breads and two slices of ham before the meal, and the last dessert is very fancy (for pouring rum The torch burned the cream on the outside of the dessert, and then cut it open, and the inside was ice cream, and the cake embryo underneath was paired with rum, which tasted very good) It made the people at the next table cry lol. Generally speaking, the Wellington steak taste is worth checking in. Like The meat is very tender and melts in your mouth

Fantastic evening, the ambiance is amazing, dim lights, cozy seating and you can hold a conversation. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everyone was so nice. The bread was so good! It was delicious. All of the food was really good and the drinks were tasty. I would definitely come back and try some other dishes.

Marcel never disappoints, service is top tier and the food is just superb. Shrimp scampi is my favorite and the pasta. Love the decor and ambiance of the place very grown and sexy and great for date nights! An Atlanta gem for sure!
Best steak you will ever eat.
..period. Dry aged ribeye is unbelievable! Well marbled and full of flavor. Sides are great as well...get the creamed corn. Baked Alaska finished off the evening with a bang. BakedService was the best we had all week. Tiffany and Carrie Lee took great care of us.
Amazing food and vibe.
The service was great and attentive while not being to overly bearing.
Top steak house in Atlanta in my opinion.
If you're hung up on Hal's, Bones or Chops I challenge you try give Marcel a try. Much better in almost every way for me! French themed, swanky vibe and super sexy! Fella's if you're trying to impress, you won't miss with Marcel!! Note to Marcel - bring back the Humboldt Fog appetizer!!!
This is a long-time favorite.
Marcel is the kind of fine dining atmosphere that is far from pretentious. The food is amazing. You can order anything and like it. Service is spectacular the staff seems to genuinely enjoy each other and what they do. Since I am a vibes gal, just know the ambiance always sets the mood for a good time. The only word of caution I have is for those who are price sensitive. The a la carte menu can add up.Overall, be prepared to spend money and be prepared to drink ... leave unadventurous eaters, the thrifty, and those who do not understand the importance of a cocktail or great steak at home.

Talk about a swanky date night! The atmosphere is dark and romantic with award worthy meals. Definitely more of a splurge.
This is it, my all-time favorite steakhouse and restaurant.
Marcel is so so good at every single aspect of the culinary experience: the service is bar-none, the atmosphere is dim and alluring, the drinks are creative, and the food is astounding -- even the bread service is mind-blowing. The Marcel reserve burger brought me the greatest, most indulgent bite I've ever had. Marcel I love you, please let me be your advocate and fanatic forever.
