Beautiful and romantic place
We went to this restaurant for dinner. It was amazing! The service was incredible. We ordered miso cod, salmon sashimi, yellow tail and chicken tacos. All the dishes were cooked and served to perfection. The place had a nice and relaxed vibe, good for couples looking to have a chilled evening.
Be the first to ReplyFine dining sushi + unbelievable sunsets
I am a total sushi fiend, and my husband likes it as well. I've been to Nobu in the Bahamas and in DC and together we've been to Matsuhisa in Vail and now Mykonos. Overall, absolutely recommend this restaurant. We are not price conscious, but if you are you should definitely check prices first, be prepared to spend $400 + for 2 people. The place itself is gorgeous, it looks like it's out of a magazine. The sunset views are unmatched- try to get a reservation around 8:30 so you can see the sun set and beat the heat. Bring sunglasses!! The staff was great, which is to be expected at that level of restaurant. I loved most of the food we had (we tired a bunch of different things). Two things to note: I order a salmon/avocado roll and a california roll pretty much everywhere I go, and was unimpressed with those for some reason. On the flip side, my husband ordered the lamb (which we were unsure of since it's a sushi place) and he said it was the best meal he had in our 9 day trip to three different Greek islands. Omg, and if you haven't had Nobu's black cod miso- it's a MUST

I am very happy we decided NOT to listen to all the negative reviews and give this spot a shot. I’ve always wanted to eat at Nobu and after so much classic Greek food we wanted sushi so we thought this was a great opportunity to come. We are from Houston which has some of the top sushi, with same prices as Nobu for very high quality food. So I can see for people who are not used to eating at a place with this caliber of sushi it can seem overpriced, but we didn’t spend more here than we do at any of the nice sushi places back home, which is saying a lot considering it is Mykonos. I was also surprised to read people did not like the decor because my husband and I thought it was stunning. We could see the sunset behind us, and we loved the hanging lights and beautiful flowers. Our sushi was fantastic, and our waiter and all the staff were superb. The location was also great for us and just a short walk from our hotel. I am very happy with our choice. I would say if you are used to eating top quality sushi like Nobu and others then you will not be disappointed or too surprised by the prices. Enjoy!

Total disappointment Trivial location and decoration, deafening and horrible music (80s/90s), average food and cocktails, but overpriced. Never again in Mykonos there are sushi restaurants 1000 times superior
Be the first to ReplyBIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY
Let me tell you, I overpaid on a lot of things in Mykonos, but the only time I felt robbed was at Matsuhisa. I spent $40 on spicy tuna crispy rice, and im not even joking, they gave me 5 pieces of crispy rice with one bite of tuna. are you kidding me? talk about pretentious. the miso soup was debatably the worst miso soup I have had in my life. and I spent $12 on it. Everything was subpar, and should have been incredible given my weekly wages were spent on this foul meal. Please, if you are reading this, do not go. I spent $240 and had to pick up a gyro after because I was still hungry. holy Han this place is a waste of money. do better
Be the first to ReplyGreat place. sensational food
Great place. The location of the venue is outstanding. Food is an exquisite experience in that place. Congratulations to the chef
Be the first to ReplyStaff is excellent, fish is fresh
Staff is excellent, fish is fresh. Avocado tempura horrible. Prices that they say is equal to Milan is not true as we compared two menus. Very expensive and worth a visit if you really crave to eat Japanese. I have been to other Nobu’s and found that Ibiza and Mykonos are less good than some of the others. Location is nice but nothing to ne surprised about.

So first for context, we’ve come to Mykonos 7 times since 2006, stayed at The Belvedere Hotel and eaten at Matsuhisa every time. We also spend half our time in NYC, so are very familiar with Nobu restaurants. In spite of the prices, we always held Matsuhisa Mykonos in high esteem, even compared to the other Nobu restaurants in NYC and Miami. Last night changed that. We first had the tuna sashimi salad. While the Matsuhisa dressing was good and the lettuce was fine, the quality of the tuna sashimi was not. In fact, one of the pieces of sashimi was such poor quality, I couldn’t even chew it (despite trying) and ended up removing it from my mouth. Next up was the rock shrimp tempura with creamy spicy sauce (something we order at every Nobu restaurant and have had multiple times here at Matsuhisa Mykonos as well). I could have gotten over the fact that the creamy spicy sauce just wasn’t a particularly good example of the dish, but the rock shrimp were over-cooked, tough and chewy. We finished half the dish. We ended the dinner with 3 cut sushi rolls - spicy tuna, yellow tail & scallion, and soft shell crab. Luckily these actually were fine. Nothing wrong with them, but no better than the cut rolls you can get at your favorite local sushi joint. They weren’t good enough make up for the first 2 dishes. I’m afraid I have to say this was our worst meal in Mykonos. And given the prices (each of the dishes we ordered averaged €30 or more, plus each drink clocked in at €30 as well), it was also the most expensive. We’ll definitely be coming back to Mykonos again. But we won’t be returning to Matsuhisa.

We went to this restaurant for a family dinner. It was delicious. There is a variety of different foods warm, cold, sushi, tacos, raw fish, fish etc. The service was pretty good. The food came fast and we had a nice table
Be the first to ReplyNot up to Nobu standards but decent.
Lovely view. Nice pool area. Music was great. Service was very friendly. Lobster salad was delicious and innovative. The Greek salad was tasty and fresh. However, the tuna tacos were not good - small, mushy tuna, and rancid taco shells. The sushi was average. On the plus side, we were able to get in without a reservation!

I travel a lot, and eat at the best restaurants in the world... this place is far below standard. I frequent at Nobu in NYC (I live in NYC) and this location does not even come close. The service is below sub-par. The food is terrible. I asked for drinks and food that never came. I'm an excellent tipper especially if I get phenomenal service but I gave maybe 15%. Horrendous! This place should seriously be ashamed.

Such brilliant food.
Great setting and service. Even had a really nice dessert which is rare for these Asian restaurants.
If you like Nobu in New York City then don't eat here
We had a terrible meal here.
The food was bad. We sent back the "yellowtail" sashimi because we did not think it was yellowtail. Portions were miniscule. We could barely see the tuna and salmon in the tacos. The crispy rice was soggy. There was barely any crab in the soft shell crab roll.
Service is amateurish. We asked for soya sauce. Never got it. Another glass of wine. Never got it. Demanded an extra tip at the end of the meal.
It's expensive. A piece of sushi or sashimi was $12. An ordinary roll was $30 - $40. High line prices for the type of quality you would see in an asian $14.95 all you can eat buffet in the US.
Like any sushi restaurant but 4 times the price!! Not worth it
This isnt good food its regular food that you pay 3 times the price.. i mean minuscule tacos 38 euros 2 regular tempuras shrimp 21 for what? Just regular taste. Dont go waste your money there.

The expectation was very high because we had been talking to our daughter (Japanese food lover) for a long time about our experiences from Nobu in London and from Mastuhisa himself in Mykonos in the past years ... and finally we brought her to try the cuisine we were so excited about. Unfortunately it was a big disappointment. The only positive notes were the view, the kindness of the staff and the dessert (the best chocolat molleaux ever eaten), and a pretty good beef. We took Omakase to try Chef Nobu's classics, but some entrees (nigiri sushi, salmon tartare, sashimi) seemed like a pale imitation of our memories, tiny portions, faded flavors. The octopus salad looked like it was just out of a bag, the octopus hard and rather bland. The sticks looked like those of a Chinese take away, inside the paper bag, a single pair, which I tried in vain to get changed during dinner. The soy sauce stained table remained dirty for most of the dinner before a waiter bothered to clean. For my son we took a portion of the legendary black cod (63 € only that), inside he found 4 large bones, which fortunately he did not swallow. We informed the waiter, who said he would tell the chef. However, we did not get some apologies from the chef, the course was still made to pay, and without the minimum discount. The bill for 3 omakase (for beginners) and 1 black cod + wine was more than 500 €. In order not to further spoil the experience for our children we did not complain, but it was a big disappointment from a restaurant we used to love

My fault I did not read the reviews prior - My wife did the reservations. When you have a place where 1/3 of the reviews falls between average and terrible you must give it a pass. Further when you read the reviews and the responses from “Management” is a cut and paste formulaic 3 sentences that do not address the issue you give to a second pass. Dinner for two Euro 300 and for that price I expect decent food and faultless service. I spent 5 years in Japan where I sat on the board of two Japanese companies so I have my fair share of sushi and other delicacies. We started with 4 microscopic lobster tacos where the shells came out of a pre=packaged box and edamame for Euro 9 that is given for free at every half-decent place. The Martini Lychee was good if slightly warm but the sake had zero flavours and seem diluted. Thereafter, I never ever ever seen sashimi cut so razor-thin and so small - about half of a chewing gun tablet that’s all you get for prices between Euro 8 and 15. Then for the rice at Euro 7 you get dry lukewarm grains without any flavour and without the fluffiness that makes it so special. We mentioned to the waiter who tried his best to propose a fix but the magic was not there. We paid quickly and left quickly.
