authentic, unpretentious japanese food
the food quality and taste is really good. recommend to try the ochazuke and fried eel (limited to a number of portions daily)
Be the first to ReplyFood was not bad but not outstanding
We ordered a whole bunch of dishes - grilled fish, sashimi, tempura, and others. The taste of the dishes wasn't bad but I think they weren't really unique or outstanding.

No reservation no problem. MANY tables empty, but not for 2. Walked away and came back again and they gave us a primo table anyway. How is that possible. However, I wish they would have said no table again because the food and service were horrible. Worst Japanese food I've had in 10 years.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my favourite japanese restaurant in Singapore.
We find the quality of food to be of a high standard. But what stands out is the friendly service especially from Hiro san!
Hiro san always engages with Us ^^

Authentic Japanese Cuisine
This small izakaya serves authentic Kyushu dishes, prepared by Japanese Chef.
Limited seats so reservation recommended especially on weekends.
The Chef is fun and entertaining, setting the mood for the eatery.
Other then the usual sashimi, roast dishes and tempura, they have many unique dishes. Using a lot of internal organs from chicken, beef and pork to create delicious appetisers and a stew dish. A bit daunting at first, but just one bite you will fall in love with the flavors.
Sake prices are reasonable too.
Izakaya at Robertson Quay
We walked around Robertson Quay looking for Jap restaurant on a Sat evening and chanced upon Mikoto. There were a few empty tables outdoors at 730pm so we were seated immediately. Itโs cool and breezy to sit outdoors and people watch as we enjoy our meal. Service is v prompt; for 2 pax, the bill comes up to about $105 which is common for Izakayas in Sโpore. We enjoyed almost everything that were served - salad is refreshing, saba fish is crispy grilled, ham with asparagus has a nice smoky taste.... we didnโt get to try their sashimi but maybe we will try it next time.

The Japanese chef manages the kitchen and interacts directly with customers. Explains the food choices and prepares delicious food. Steamed salmon, chicken nannban, and ended with ochazuke ume plum. Complemented with sake and Macallan 12years. Had a Very Fulfilling evening with the best food and new Japanese friends
