Great restaurant if a bit odd
For a couple of years, Mint has been the best restaurant in downtown Tarrytown and we dine there frequently. American with a strong touch of the Mediterranean, Mint offers a wide selection of excellent choices. It also has a market up front from which we sometimes buy a few delicacies. On our most recent visit, we started with a Mint Salad and the Madjoul Dates. Then instead of our usual favorites we decided to eat a bit lighter - an Ahi Burger, Truffle Burger, and Falafel Pita. All were quite delicious. We finished with a Cappuccino, Macchiato, and Hot Chocolate accompanied by a shared Pistachio Cake. Again, everything was delicious. The oddity is the service which can be very hit or miss...and thankfully this night was a hit! I was reminded of this when I reviewed the check and saw that the suggested tips are 22%, 25%, and 30%!!! instead of the usual 15%, 18%, and 20%. It isn't as if I particularly mind having to calculate the tip for myself...but it does make me wonder if the erratic service stems from the waitstaff being woefully underpaid.

Have eaten lunch and dinner here several times. Always delicious! Great atmosphere and staff. Nothing like Morrocan mint tea to hit the spot! Never been disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced and Simply Too Precious
The food here is decent but way overpriced and too pretentious for a glorified cafe. Visited a couple of times and thought the place was fine. Not anymore. This time, they made us wait for our entrees for over an hour. We were finally informed as to why about 50 minutes in: some kind of anniversary party. Our compensation for the lack of communication and 75 minute wait? Some cheap sample dessert. Yippee. This, after we forked over $200 for the meal. The owner is greedy and contemptuous of his patrons. Not recommended. Save your money and go to Basque down the block.

Outstanding. Salad with figs, mango watermelon gazpacho, short ribs. And that isnโt even to mention the drinks and desserts!
Be the first to ReplyTerrible Waitress!
We (party of 6) arrived on time for a 7PM reservation. Right off the bat, the waitress (older, w/ longish hair) gave off negative vibes. To be honest, she seemed miserable. We were seated, we ordered drinks and appetizers, and waited for the night to turn from meh to bad. When the waitress retuned to take our dinner order, she did warn us everything was delayed because the restaurant was busy. We waited. About 45 minutes later, she came back to the table and handed us a dessert menu. We hadnโt gotten our entrees and she seemed shocked at our reaction when we questioned her. We canceled our dinner order, paid the drink and app check, spoke to the owner, and left.
Weโve dined at Mint several times in the past and always enjoyed the experience. This waitress (and her terrible attitude) ruined it.
Get the Charcuterie!
Great for low key wine and cheese night with friends or partner. The Charcuterie board is amazing! If there is something you love ask them and they will put it on. Very sweet staff, owner always pops over to the table when he is in this store. I think he owns a few others in town. Highly recommend!

Servers were very accommodating. Sat us outside at first but table was on an incline and sun was too strong so they kindly relocated us inside. Had brunch. Avo toast with poached eggs and smoked salmon eggs bennie. Food was top notch. Really tasty. About $12-16 per entree. Restaurant was busy on a Sunday at noon but food came fairly swiftly. Server brought us a complimentary pot of warm mint tea which was as good as in Morocco. Cute international type vibe. Would recommend.

Was my first time visiting and I was really happy with the experience. Nice layout of the place and very cozy. Staff are very nice and attentive. A variation of food to choose from. Food was really good!
Be the first to ReplySurprise!
We had visited previously but only for lunch and once for brunch and liked it. It's small and bustling, with good food and attentive service. It also has a "Deli" out in front with a great selection of top notch goodies. Our first dinner there was a surprise. It's a lot better than we had realized. We live on the other side of the Hudson, in Rockland County, and this is worth making the trip.

We were looking to have a nice brunch during our stay in white plains, as always we look for none franchise but a cozy place, specifically on this beautiful snowy day
After driving around we decide to go to Mint, this small charming restaurant has a store the front, I was so happy to see many of the products I bring from Europe
There were two guys on the front that looked down at, they asked me what I wanted, I said to have brunch they talk to each other and said ok, you guys can get at that table in front of the store, I said I want to seat on the back, in the restaurant, they said no, that is reserved, my sister insisted and said โThat must be a huge party โ by then Steven walked in and asked what was going on, we told him we wanted to eat in the back but it was reserved, he said no its not and set us down
โ Found the first two guys (a black guy and young white/hispanic$) we're elitist
โ
Great Mimosa
โ
Huge variety of European beers and ciders
โ
Food had good taste and presentation, we order the special panini, vegetable panini steak and egg Benedict with ham, French toast
โ Coffee, it took three tried to get it right

The best asset this restaurant had is Steve the manager, he save the day
Maverick pilgrimage
We come here once a year, usually at Halloween time before the Mavericks concert which is a yearly event. Downtown Tarrytown (not far from Sleepy Hollow) comes alive on Halloween night when the weather is good. There are plenty of trick-or-treaters and costumed adults who come down Main Street in front of the restaurant. The restaurant is a block away from the Music Hall. A window seat provided a good view of costumes.
We had the short ribs, a favorite and a braised lamb shank. The portions were large and leftovers were more than enough for lunch the next day. The food was delicious and those dishes are recommended. We had a bottle of Tannat, a red which went well with dinner.
See you next year
Cafe breakfast outside
What a great way to start our Sunday with a deliteful salmon eggs Benedict breakfast on an outside table. It was a gorgeous sunny Sunday after a rainy nebulous Saturday, and boy what a difference. My belly full and the Misses happy w her octopus shrimp salad and off to a tour of Kykeit. Quite a delightful start to the day!

I had an amazing lobster risotto here. Just delicious. The restaurant is filled with interesting food from all over Europe and North Africa, cans of oils and cheeses. Cool place in this quaint town
Be the first to ReplyGreat lunch on a sunny day outside at the tables
The iced tea and steak sandwich were delicious! With the exception of a loud woman talking on her cell phone the whole time we were there, it was a pleasant meal celebrating with friends the beginning of summer.
