Mom's Kitchen Fort Lauderdale Reviews from The Last Year
Great service.
Great food. Great local diner that's recently expanded to accommodate more business. They now offer a breakfast buffet for $18 everyday. We were tempted because it offered so much but we passed and ordered from the menu. Tons of folks enjoyed the buffet and received homemade custom omelets, breakfast meats, sausage gravy, French toast and pancakes made to order. There was a lot and it was unlimited. Worth it if you're a big breakfast eater. I was missing that diner Turkey club so at 10:00am that's what I ordered! Delicious fresh roasted turkey made in house. I also recommend the biscuits and gravy. They had a unique seasoning or perhaps different use of sausage that was delicious. I can't put my finger on what it was but it's worth it!
Nice menu good service good food.
Popped in for breakfast today and they did not disappoint. Breakfast food was all delicious would def recommend .
Food was great .
We went for dinner but the pot roast was a little too salty. The staff was really good and friendly. We will be back.
I recently went here for breakfast with friends.
One friend had not one or two but a large mass of hair in his food / on his plate. I understand a hair can sometimes fall onto a plate but this was A LOT of hair. All of us could not finish our food because it was too gross. They removed the friend's plate charge from the bill and the rest of us paid for ours, even though we couldn't eat it. We were also not impressed with how the server or manager responded. They seemed a bit dismissive, almost as though they're used to this happening. I really used to like this place a lot so I'm sad to say, we just can't and won't go back.
Great food, service was spot on and comfortable feel
Great food, service was spot on and comfortable feel overall. Definitely will go back.
Had lunch there with 10 friends today.
Worth the drive from Boca Raton. Great food. Nice quiet atmosphere where we could talk. Clean. Ample parking. Excellent service.
Came for a late lunch on Sunday.
The place was kind of empty, which I've never seen before. Sat at the bar and had a wonderful experience. Food is always amazing, and the portions were massive (Check out pictures). I was so impressed by this, really getting your money's worth. Service was very helpful, and everyone was super nice. Can't wait to go back for more!!

I went here on a Thursday around 1pm and the place was packed. The restaurant also offers 2 dining experiences: an all you can eat buffet with only breakfast items for $18 and the regular menu side. We chose the a-la-carte menu and I decided to get the veggie omelet with a biscuit. The omelet was cooked perfectly and stuffed with peppers, onions, and a hefty amount of cheese. My partner chose the steak & eggs; the meat was surprisingly tender. Good quality food, inexpensive, and the portions were large. As long as you don't mind that the environment resembles a nursing home, this is definitely a hit.
Really is home cooking.
I wish we had found this place a year and a half ago when we moved to Florida. They truly offer 'homemade' cooking'. The turkey was great: 'real' veggies that tasted wonderful, great cornbread stuffing, real mashed. Roast beef was good. They offer pies baked in-house. We have tried all of the diners in the area and this place beats most of them. Maybe they should try some advertising lol. Will definitely be back.
Ordered chicken and waffles.
Waffle was bland. Chicken tenders were dry and tasteless. Too much breading on chicken as well. Disappointed in the $6 refund of the $13 entree after sharing that I didn't like the unfinished meal. Servers seem nice and probably the main reason this place is still in business.
Was so excited to be back in the area from a year ago and
Was so excited to be back in the area from a year ago and couldn't wait to hit here for breakfast. Was nice to see the expansion had been completed and they did a great job. We ate here five mornings in a row and four out of the five times we sat on the new side - we found the chairs in there to be a little more comfortable. Once again the staff was all smiles, very quick and accommodating and the food was stupendous. While they now offer a breakfast buffet we didn't partake of it as we preferred to order off the menu. Outstanding french toast, pancakes, blueberry muffins, chipped beef, country fried steak, etc. We brought friends this time and they enjoyed it so much they went another time without us for lunch and said it was excellent. We saw the owner and told him how much we loved the place which he appreciated. Be prepared to wait a bit on a weekend to be seated - not surprisingly - just make sure to add your name to the electronic waitlist to make sure you are in line for a table - but the wait is not long at all. I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in town!
Great service , large portion and delicious breakfast ,
Great service , large portion and delicious breakfast , French toast was great This remind of good old days diner
Extremely courteous staff.
Excellent freshly prepared food. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We've eaten here a few times.
It's always packed so be prepared for a wait or call ahead to be added to the waitlist. They have a an expansive menu and we always leave happy.
I reviewed this place last year for the first time and it
I reviewed this place last year for the first time and it remains our favorite place for breakfast. The high quality ingredients cooked consistently perfect by their kitchen staff who knows what they are doing. So far this Florida trip we have eaten here five days in a row and will eat here two more days in A row until we go home. We have tried every breakfast place and diner from here to holly wood and the moonlight care is also very good but this place is the best. Great atmosphere and new dining room and buffet. The secret is great food at reasonable prices, kind and friendly staff. Love the SOS and country friendly steak. Thanks Moms for making the food taste like my mom cooked it.
The food is not that special.
Service is okay. Prices are reasonable. The ambiance is not bad. My opinion is mostly about the food. Not that special
Bad experience! We were there this past Sunday around 2pm.
The place was not really busy. We ordered our food from the menu since we did not choose to eat sad looking breakfast buffet. After waiting for around 30 minutes we flagged the waitress down and asked when our food was coming out. She came back and told us in a just a few minutes. We waited and waited and no food. We left after 45 minutes of waiting. I was so disappointed. This place left a "bad taste in my mouth". We will never return.
Great diner food.
Delicious breakfast. Fast and courteous service. The new buffets they offer are a great addition.
This has been one of my favorite breakfast places for years.
I have had lunch here as well and was never disappointed. They have been advertising a Lunch Buffet. I decided to try it. What a mistake. I tried to write to them directly but there is no email. I know it is a harsh word but the food was disgusting. 1) The salad bar had nothing on it except for the basics. We have been missing a Salad Buffet ever since Sweet Tomatoes closed a few years ago. For $20 this certainly was not a replacement. 2) The hot food was awful. I love quesadillas but not these soggy pieces of I don't know what. They were not cuttable with the butter knife on the table. The other hot dish looked like it might be lasagna. It was all of yesterday's leftovers, mashed together and covered with red sauce and cheese. Mystery meats galore. I will go back for breakfast but advise extreme caution before trying the buffet.
BEWARE. Breakfast is great but the Lunch Buffet???

This was our second visit here for breakfast.
The staff is very nice. The service started out great then the busier it became the service fell short. I had sausage eggs Benedict .. the sausage was a bit overcooked and I was not a fan of the bene sauce. I also had the home fries which were barely edible.. seems that maybe they were sitting a while and burnt. Hubble had eggs and sausage and his sausage was overcooked as well.
Had lunch, today, at Mom's Kitchen, with a group of friends.
We were seated in their new dining area ( bright and cheerful) Great service, delicious food ( generous servings) and a great overall experience. We'll be back
Great food.
Excellent location-easy to find. Friendly staff. Great pricing. Clean. Nice decor.
Mom's Kitchen is one of my very favorite places to eat and
Mom's Kitchen is one of my very favorite places to eat and the new addition is perfect for larger parties. It's one of those "jewels" locals know about ... but have kept to themselves! The atmosphere and the service is so friendly (sadly a rarity in south Florida). Every single meal I have had is excellent, just like Mom's homemade cooking!
First off, the service was very friendly.
However, the best service in the world can't make up for bad food. The corned beef hash had to be out of a can and over easy eggs were way undercooked
Mom's Kitchen is one of my absolute favorite spots for all
Mom's Kitchen is one of my absolute favorite spots for all occasions. Without a doubt, their breakfast menu stands out as my top choice, but every dish is a winner. The homemade, fresh ingredients truly elevate the flavors. And let me tell you, their chicken noodle soup is phenomenal. While I've yet to experience dinner there, judging by the excellence of their breakfast and lunch offerings, I'm certain it's equally as good. They have daily specials as well as a new buffet option for breakfast and lunch. If you haven't gone here yet, you're missing out!
Great meal as always.
Service is always good. Had a party of 6 so sat in their new area that accommodates larger parties

Lunch is great.
Dinner is a nightmare. I'll not go there again at dinner time. Days are fantastic and busy.
The food is very good and great portions.
Great atmosphere and music. The service is very good and friendly. They have daily specials and desserts. Be sure to bring your appetite.
5 stars
Excellent breakfast and lovely staff x staying in las olas and got a Uber here for breakfast so glad we did x best food since we arrived
Fantastic breakfast
Third breakfast spot I have visited this trip. By far the best hash and eggs, hands down. Crispy, hot and delicious. Charming old school place, food service, great food.
Poor hostess
Upon visiting Mom’s Kitchen you have to put your name on the waitlist using their pad. Upon doing that it says if you received a text from us you were successfully put on the list. It also said that you would receive a text when your table is ready. While waiting the hostess comes outside and asked our names, we told her and she then said I tried calling you about 20 times with no response from anyone inside. I asked her if she tried texting and she said no. Because of this we lost our place in line. Why say that you are going to text but then don’t text. Confused.
Breakfast Comfort Food Heaven!
We've spent the last month dining out for breakfast at local (non-chain) restaurants. For the most part we have been quite impressed. Today we think we found our favorite - MOM's KITCHEN. The service is outstanding. We were greeted by Z and told her it was our first-time dining at MOM's. She said, "Please don't leave without telling me what you think. We appreciate the feedback." Our server, Terry, was prompt, upbeat, and friendly. Coffee was kept topped off and the menu choices are plentiful. We both had traditional breakfasts - fried eggs, meat, potatoes, biscuit and sausage gravy. It was quite tasty. The home fries were the best I have found here in the South Florida area. The sausage gravy and biscuit were delicious. The eggs cooked exactly as ordered. Both of us were 'eyeing' the lunch and dinner menu which appears to be comfort food heaven. We will be back (probably tomorrow - Ha)! When we left we talked to Z and told her we give the place a 5 Star A+ rating. She smiled and thanked us.
Affordable!
We got the tip to eat brunch here from a friend. Wow! What an amazing place! Friendly staff who delivered really good food! It was worth every dollar!
Proper American diner experience
This place met our expectations 100%. We were looking for an American style diner with a large breakfast menu and got exactly what we wanted. Food was fresh, tasty and service was good.
Old world diner with old world charm
Found this little gem by accident and so glad we did. Had family visiting from England and to them this perfectly met their expectations of American diner. Ok, mine too. Delicious all day breakfast, or lunch and dinner if you prefer. Atmosphere is ..... well, it's a 60's diner. A nice "feel" Food is excellent and service is warm and friendly. Top marks for Mom's kitchen.
Best of the best
This is a great place for breakfast and lunch service is impeccable and food is outstanding thank you for being there for us kudos to the owner Michael and Mookie
