An absolutely fantastic restaurant in a lovely location.
We popped into this wonderful neighborhood gem before the ballet down the street. We told the waitstaff that we had to watch the time and she had no problem with expediting our drinks, appetizers, and main entrées. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented, and delicious. Portions were extremely generous. We only lament that we did not have enough time for dessert there. Five Spanish Basque stars!!

I wanted to like Moro more -- the wine I was served was really delicious (it had been recommended by the waiter), and the bread was plentiful, chewy and delicious, with excellent olive oil to accompany it. The service was friendly and efficient. I might have ordered badly, but my dishes were not that exciting for the price. I had a watermelon salad with feta, which was fine, but there was nothing special about it. I have made better ones at home. I also had the grilled sardines, and they were pretty tasteless. Not enough flavor in either dish. I loved the ambiance (though it was a little loud), but I don't know if I liked it enough to try it again.
Be the first to ReplyWe really loved Moro.
The food was excellent and the service superb and professional. We liked sitting outside--the street and Exmouth Market has outstanding energy!--and the inside looked inviting too.
Be the first to ReplyPhenomenal food, atmosphere, and service.
Whilst more details could easily be added, these simple points sum it up well. Moro is a must.
Be the first to ReplyThis place came highly recommended.
But after an experience with their current Christmas menu, I was less than amazed. The flavors are fused together, and just wasn't quite for me.... I did love their sister restaurant next door, Morito which was tapas style. I would give this place one more chance before writing off as their service is amazing!

When we visited for lunch, we were not impressed by the flavors and quality of the food - while the service was good, we didn't particularly love any of our orders. Looking at their menu now, I'm wondering if we simply didn't order their best, but overall this was an unmemorable meal.Dined: August 23, 2021

Fantastic meal! I had the beetroot and black cumin soup; the chargrilled lamb with warm potato and feta salad, roasted beet root with hot mint sauce and for dessert the rose and cardamon ice cream. The lamb was cooked to perfection! The service is as top notch. I would definitely come back to eat here again the next time I am in London
Be the first to ReplyMoro is a simple yet elegant delight.
On a stand-out pedestrian street in Clerkenwell, Moro focuses on Spanish/Morocco food to good success. On a weekday night, there was plenty of space to go around so we were seated quickly and service was generally solid. Broccoli - enjoyed this taste far more than I expected. The texture was unique and on point - the heads were mushy but the stem had some strength to them, but the flavor and consistency of what could be near mashed broccoli were goodLamb - moist, well-cooked (slightly pink), and tasty. While sadly there are only 3-4 slices, each bite is delicious especially when combined with the two sauces. Yogurt Pie - Definitely worth getting. Just enough sweetness and a mix of flavors with the pop of pomegranate seeds in each bite.
Be the first to ReplyA disappointment.
Wine was delicious, and the room was warm and inviting, but the food was really just... okay. The hot dishes weren't hot enough in temperature, oddly, and the flavors were muted and sort of dull. Had high hopes but was let down. Seems like a once great restaurant that has slipped.

Really disappointing dinner - food was nothing to go back for. Service was poor; albeit the waitress was polite, they gave us wrong wines twice (which they charged us double for) and did not know the english translation of the dishes on the menu. Not just overpriced but down right bad. Surprised by how others rated this place - only explanation has to be the menu varying per season. I would advise to go only if you have to but do not initiate it yourself.Bread - probably the best part of the meal. The bread was fresh and of good quality. Served with decent olive oil and salt/pepper seasoningKale salad (starter) - tiny portion of weirdly seasoned kale, served with a fresh but odd tasting cheese (avoid)Chicharrón with hummus (starter) - nothing special. Taste was plain, deep fried tiny portion served on a bed of humus (edible but not good)Plaice (main) - this was good. Vegetables accompanying the fish were very tasty (mainly tomato, parsley and cucumber) and the fish seemed fresh (be careful of the bones but otherwise order)
Be the first to ReplyVery nice restaurant and delicious food.
I took the lamb meal. Also starter the peppers and babaganoug.

£350 dinner, dry rabbit, jamon claiming to be pata negra but absolutely wasn't, watermelon salad with the large seeds (just lazy), mains that were over complicated, rude service and best of all A MOUSE RUNNING ACROSS THW FLOOR FOR DESSERT!! The best part were the espresso martinis and the pork belly. Wayyy too many amazing Spanish restaurants in this city to waste your time and money here!!

I had been waiting to try Moro having heard so much about it. We went on a Friday for lunch and it was a rare beautiful sunny day in London. The restaurant was very handsome and I very much appreciated the spare decor by thinking they would instead highlight the food. The ambience and crowd seemed just right and we were primed for a great dining experience. Unfortunately that didn't happen and we left disappointed. For our appetizer we shared the grilled Octopus with chick pea puree - that was outstanding but it was all downhill from there. The Branzino I had was under-seasoned and there was really nothing tasty about it. It was cooked perfectly but peculiarly under-seasoned for a restaurant that specializes in Moorish/Spanish/Turkish food. There was no subtlety to the seasonings - it just wasn't tasty. My friend had the wood roasted chicken which was good but on the dry side. Again, nothing to write home about. The most disappointing by far was the dessert. We got the chocolate ganache cake with yogurt. I thought they meant the cake was made with yogurt which sounded intriguing. But it was a slice of rich chocolate cake with a few spoons of plain yogurt for a sauce next to it. The idea was to mix the plain, slightly sour yogurt with the chocolate cake. We were told the yogurt was house -made but the juxtapositioning of the 2 was completely off. Who thought this would be a good pairing? Overall, nothing to recommend here except the bread they serve initially with some great olive oil and the grilled octopus. Would not return.
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely check this place out.
The lamacun (with lamb sweetbreads) and veggie mezze were my favorites. Locals abounded during my visit - servers appeared to know diners.

Delicious food and creative menu! I ordered the cod and it was very nice. My coworker ordered the artichoke starter and it was very good. Will be back.

We had an excellent meal this evening; my sea trout was especially delicious. Following by a wonderful chocolate tart with creme fraiche -- couldn't have been better. Although on line they were officially booked, we showed up and were able to give us a table for four right away -- indicative of the pleasant, attentive, and unobtrusive service throughout. A wonderful experience. I hope to return soon!
