It was not good and it was overpriced
I came to Manny's expecting great food and service but it was underwhelming. I ordered eggs Benedict and it was horrible they gave me the wrong sauce the egg was completely raw and it was so overpriced. Do not come here
Be the first to ReplyVery overpriced restaurant
The ambience is nothing that great.....considering the price. The food was good.....but not worth the price. In other words, I could cook the same steak at home for a third of the price using a LOT OF SALT and some spices. The best part was the waiter. They are cordial and well trained. Even the dessert was way overpriced and was good, but not unbelivable for $16.50 at piece of pie. Here was our bill: wine by the glass.....$16-25 whiskeys.....$20-25/shot desserts.......$16.50/ea. valet.....$25 steaks......$69/ea. 2 sides.....$16-19/ea. tip.....$60. Total bill for 4 people with only 2 steaks that were split and 2 sides and 2 desserts with each of us having one drink??? $425 tax, tip, valet, meal, one drink each. Ambiance? Nothing special. I could've had friends over and grilled out and had the same meal for about $25/ea steak; $15 grilled asparagus cheesescake pie from Cheesecake factory $15/6 pieces = $80
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed in Manny's
Worst dinner ever for the money. We went to celebrate some good news and chose Manny's because of it's reputation for a great steak. The steaks ($79 each) were okay but not fabulous... a hunk of meat on a plate with a piece of wilted parsley. We ordered sides: hash browns with onions looked impressive but were tasteless. Spinach in garlic cream sauce was a pile of glop on a plate. The Manhattan and Old Fashioned that we started with contained enough liquor to justify the price ($20 and $18) to the extent of being too much. $300 later we staggered out. Would never recommend.... I can do better on the grill at home.

Great service and delicious food! Our server, Kim, was awesome. She was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. All of the staff were attentive and helpful. My friend had filet and I had shrimp scampi. We were both happy with our meals. The cheesecake for dessert was gigantic but very tasty. The cocktails were good overall. The place is hopping so you should probably get a reservation. We went around 5pm on a Thursday and it was very busy by 5:30. The prices are fair for what you get. Would return if back in downtown Minneapolis!
Be the first to ReplyA top tier steakhouse
Truly a top tier steakhouse experience. Manny's has a great vibe to it and the service we had was phenomenal. While not cheap (classic steakhouse prices) the food was worth it, was really nice having the meat cart brought to us before we ordered to scope the options! Another plus was the pour's of the drinks were huge! Highly recommend if you're looking for fine dining in the heart of Minny.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent, top to bottom
One of the finest steakhouse experiences ever. We are foodies and love oysters Rockerfeller and Manny's were the best ever. Meats are all excellent and banana cream pie is not to be skipped. Crowded and a little noisy, but a superb fine dining experience.

Mannys is iconic and always on my list when I visit the area. This was my third time there. I took my father. The martini was perfect, the house red was above average and as always my fathers filet and my New York strip were cooked to perfection. This was the first time I would have given it a 4 instead of a 5 because I felt that we were a little “rushed”. That could just be me, but it didn’t feel as non-rushed as last time. I wasn’t on this app the first two times over the years so if they are 5’s, then the average would be a 4.7. Will always return. My favorite restaurant in Minneapolis.

First of all the service is fantastic, second the food was fit for a King. My dog King could not get through it so I to get the Chain Saw out. Been there 4 times. One good meal. That's why it gets 2 stares!
Be the first to ReplyTougher than Fido's chew toy.
I've been to Manny's about half a dozen times, and I've always enjoyed the experience, but not this time. Our three $79 steaks were undercooked, not the medium rare we ordered, and very tough. They were so tough they were hard to saw through with a serrated knife. Each cut revealed a white string of sinew that was unappetizing and very off-putting. The service was fair. He didn't show up often, and it was hard to get his attention, so we suffered through the tough ribeye steaks. It's sad that Manny's thinks that beef is worth $79 a cut. This was my last trip to Manny's. Honestly, and I say this in all candor, I've had much better steaks at chain restaurants like Texas Roadhouse or Outback, and for A LOT less cost. Sad.
Be the first to Reply5 star meal, one star service
5 star food and ambiance, but one star service. I don’t usually knock service but tonight was one of the worst at an establishment like this. I won’t post the servers name but he could have cared less to take care of us. He quickly said can I get a drink, for which I asked a wine list which was meant with a shrug and came back a while later with it. Then the entire meal was rushed and we felt like we were bothering him. Despite all this, the food here is so good. Carpaccio here is our favorite anywhere we’ve had in the US. We split a steak and did the hash browns fully loaded like the mashed potatoes which is a must. All in all an amazing meal that wasn’t ruined by the bad service.

Thanks to Dave, Nick and Alan for great hospitality and delicious food last night. We had ribeye, hash browns and mushrooms. We split the chopped salad to start and loved it. Highly recommend Manny’s!

I have done review on mannys a couple of times . With that said last night was the best of the best.. We had a waiter named Vinnie . We been going to mannys for more years than I can remember. The only server that compares to Vinnie was Chas. And he has been gone for 20 plus years . Always the best food you would expect from fine dining. If you do have the opportunity for fine dining do yourself a favor and request Vinnie as your Personal server. Have not seen his talent or professionalism since Chas left this establishment. My hats off to Vinny. And a big Thanks to Mannys Staff my family's been dining at Mannys foe 29 years. Thank you.
Be the first to ReplyGo anywhere else!!!!!
Well - not sure where to start. We were so perplexed by this place. On the positive side: Almost all the servers etc were professionals in the industry. The portions were absolutely gigantic!!! With the exception of the salad. That all being said. The food was well - just ok-ish. Much of our food came out just warm ish. We have eaten all over the world from steakhouses to street food and this place left much to be desired. We will never return and would recommend that you literally eat anywhere else!

This place you must have reservations, staff is very professional, service was spot on and timely across the board and the food was excellent. Big portions if you are a big eater.
Be the first to ReplyA must go, best meal in a long time (and we are foodies)
Very old world, great service, parade the steaks before you order, steakhouse. Our server, Vinny was wonderful. Just the right blend of personality and professionalism. This is probably a top three steakhouse experience in my life. The Oysters Rockefeller were the best ever! Steaks were dry-aged and delicious. The loaded mashed potatoes were to die for and the Banana Crème Pie was life changing. Wine prices were typical upper end steakhouse high and they added a "Health and Safety" tax of 5% to the entire bill. We were told that this is because prices went up post-covid and they didn't want to print new menus. A must do while in MN, highly recommend. $$$$, but worth it.
Be the first to ReplyGreat steakhouse
Downtown Minneapolis, on the ground floor of W hotel. Friendly service, great cuts, plenty to chose from. Good wine to go with. Make sure you share the desserts if ordered!
Be the first to ReplyAMAZING
Our servers started with exceptional service, especially our waitress Tammy who catered to our large group's every need. Portions of the sides and the amazing flavor and presentation were exceptional. The steak melted in your mouth, and the dessert Mannys Brownie was shared by our party of 12, with some left. We won't need to eat for days. This place goes in my top 5 meals of all times. Worth every dollar spent!!!
Be the first to ReplyOur Dads Favorite
My sister and I came for dinner on 7/11/22 as we were in town from Brooklyn and London, we came back as this was our dads favorite restaurant when in Minneapolis. Our dad grew up in Wayzata and relocated to NYC when he got married in ‘64. Our eyes always lit up when we saw the carnivore cart roll by. We could’ve used a wheelchair for the way out since we were so stuffed from eating two small steaks and 2 healthy like sides. Plus we chose once again the St Emillon, Chateau Boutisse Bordeaux. You can’t go wrong!
Be the first to Replythey will not give you full leftovers-be prepared
Manny's is a wonderful restaurant. The prime rib i outstanding and the waiter was great. We could not eat the entire prime rib and asked for them to package the leftover meat to take home. When we returned home, we discovered they had given us half the leftover meat, and kept the other half. This was a very special occasion and we will probably never return to Manny's again ,but I wanted people to know this appears to be Manny's policy...you either eat everything in the restaurant. or assume you have lost it. It changed what would have been a marvelous experience.
Be the first to ReplyOK Steak but Terribly overpriced
The staff here was good. The steak was quality and cooked well but that's about it. The bread was stale. The baked potato was overcooked. The mushrooms were ok - cooked properly but pretty tasteless. There are better steakhouses for the price. Manny's was extremely over-priced. They charge a 5% surcharge on your bill to cover covid related costs. Covid is done - that's a scam. They also say the 5% is pay for employee benefits. That's a cost of doing business, not an add on. If you can't pay your staff properly with the prices you're charging, either learn how to run a business or just add the cost to the actual price so the customer knows what they are getting for their money.
