Fantastic experience with Tom himself presenting dishes
One of the best 1-mich meals I've had in a while, and very unique. Starting with the gorgeous tiny Victoria mews house and cosy ground floor bar area for pre-prandials (we had a lot...), I loved the intimacy of the place. The restaurant itself is tiny - I hadn't realised it's only 23 covers, but it makes it a very special experience. Particularly with Tom actively involved. Full tasting menu and wine pairing recommended.
Be the first to ReplyAfraid it was disappointing
A pretty very hidden little gem of a restaurant. Look for the doormat! Nice decor and fairly comfortable seating. Food well prepared & presented although very small in size. Donโt bother with the extra ยฃ35!langoustine course. Lucky if you get 3 mouthfuls. Service good although hard to hear the commentary they spoke so fast and quietly. Wine pairing really poor in my opinion. Wines nothing special with very small 100ml pours. One large glass bigger than the whole wine pairing put together. Nice touches around the food with pop up menus etc, but was not as good as I expected Iโm afraid. Would not return.

Be the first to ReplyA fabulous dining experience, packed with flavour bombs
A fabulous dining experience, the 10 course taster menu was packed with flavour bombs. As you would expect from a top-end restaurant the innovative dishes were ably adjusted to my need to avoid dairy and gluten without spoiling the experience at all, something others fail to accomplish. We were fortunate that we have a large corner booth, others at the tables for two didn't seem so comfortable and definitely lack table top space
Be the first to ReplyNice but very small
Nice restaurant but very small tables are not far from touching each other. If is noisy its not a nice place to be.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointed in our visit.
Letโs start with the positive, the food, which to be honest is why you visit restaurants, was overall good with some expectational dishes. The 10 course tasting was both delicious, innovative, using some of our favourite ingredients from around the UK. The langoustine has to be our favourite and loved their take on the classic prawn on toast. Sadly thatโs where the positive ends. The restaurant is within a traditional muse, so small and compact, which made for a very chaotic evening. The seating has to be some of the worst we have had to endure, which made for a very uncomfortable experience. How can you seat a party of 4 with the table coming right up to your chest is beyond us. The place is very warm, so beware. We also felt ignored by the front of house staff, who frankly let us down with their slow, chaotic and sometime ignored service. We noticed the party of 5 at the next table appear to have the attention you come to expect from a Michelin star restaurants. We had to ask the staff twice if they would bring our pairing after the dish was serviced, after our first pairing was service 15 mins before. The sommelier lack the knowledge and rush her explanation of the wine, and failed to give any reason why it was paired with the dish. This is sommelier 101. At the end of the evening the guests are given a small care package. We were given one per couple after seeing that same party of 5 given one each. All guests should be treated equally. Sadly the poor experience, mean I had given it only 2 stars and sits at the bottom of the list of 12 Michelin restaurants we have visited in 2023.
Be the first to ReplyTruly Exceptional Dining
Really exceptional food, the most astonishing attention to detail. High-end dining with best of British flavours and modern takes on classic combinations. I'm surprised this place has just the one star.
Be the first to ReplyGreat night with super tasting menu
Had a lovely night here. We were seated at bar on 1st floor with great view of kitchen. Amazingly organised and tidy despite being small. Staff great and friendly, food delicious and different. I have never had parsnip as a dessert before and loved it! Take home box of goodies was a lovely touch and the Portuguese tart in it was best ever! Pleased we booked and loved it.
Be the first to ReplyIntimate fine dining experience, perfect for friends and couples.
Small intimate restaurant with exceptional quality food and service. We visited for a friends birthday and sat upstairs at the counter. The staff and chefs were so attentive and produced stunning food. The 6-course tasting with wine flight is perfect for lunch.
Be the first to ReplyCreative, Divine Meals
Muse is a fabulous dining experience, with about 10 creative and delicious courses that are all inspired by the chef's personal experiences. The restaurant is small and cozy, with only a few tables and a small bar area. Service was top-tier, and we really enjoyed our dinner here.

Service was excellent. The ambience was great - the place was cosy and personal. Food was creative but we felt some of the main courses could be slightly larger.
Be the first to ReplyAnother lunchtime hit for us
This is a very personal experience and all the better for it. The presentation in every respect is given considerable thought. The food is interesting and of the highest quality. We have used Muse lunchtimes only , I am not too sure if it is an evening venue , I guess we will have to find out one day ! In the meantime go for the intimacy and experience , you will not be disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent unique dining.
Excellent evening. Well paced service with delicious food. The small number of diners makes it a unique experience. Tom was there cooking and serving. The food was ยฃ155 per person and we chose reasonably priced wines with drinks before and our total bill was ยฃ220 per person , so donโt be put off by the review earlier at ยฃ700 for 2.
Be the first to ReplyQuaint and cosy but lacking punch
My partner and I recently celebrated our 10 year anniversary which we decided to ring in at Tom Aikens Muse restaurant last Saturday night. Whilst the restaurant was beautifully whimsical we were both a little let down by any bold flavours and stand out dishes which Iโve sadly already forgotten. Case in point was the extra seasonal white truffle course which left me wondering if any truffle went on it even though I saw them grate it in front of me. Perhaps it was old and had lost its pungency and aroma. Flavour did finally arrive when the desert dishes rolled round. Because the restaurant and kitchen is on display in front of you a lot of dishes were just โfinishedโ in front of you and I felt many of the accompanying garnishes pre-prepared from squeezy bottles sometimes resulted in hot dishes coming up lukewarm. Service was hit and miss as some front of house were somewhat lacking in charisma. My partner and I were expecting great things at Muse given the reputation of the chef and I love the location but for me it left me wanting which is a shame as it wonโt feature on a destination i will return to.
Be the first to ReplyEmperorโs New Clothes
Overpriced and pretentious, Tomโs โEmperorโs New Clothesโ restaurant left us feeling not a little cheated! My pal and I regularly visit Londonโs finest and are happy to spend big on our occasional indulgent โsplurgesโ, but rarely have we been so disappointed by a dining experience; especially one so โhypedโ. Weโve enjoyed fine dining from hipster to ultra-traditional, so the lack of โwhite-tableclothโ formality didnโt put us off. And the staff were very sweet and very earnest. Perhaps a little too earnest though. This isnโt a church or a museum, itโs a restaurant! So much hushed reverence toward Tom and his Michelin stars seemed a little suffocating. Especially when the staff seemed so hamstrung by his guidelines that it stifled their natural warmth and generosity. Case in point, the very stingy measures applied to the pouring of drinks! Iโd just had a couple of fantastic-quality, generous dry martinis at the wonderful nearby Library Bar (in The Lanesbrough). The shonky, thimble-sized martini I was served at Muse was laughably disappointing in comparison! We also ordered the matching wines along with our vegetarian tasting menus, but again, the staff seem to have been instructed to be super-stingy when pouring! We actually thought the sommelier was letting us taste the wine before she poured it, but it transpired that that was what passes for a FULL glass at Muse! The real insult though was when we took the extra โsupplementalโ cheese-course (there not being one included on the already expensive tasting menu) and finding that cheese, being a plural or singular noun, was indeed singular at Muse! One type of cheese is NOT a cheese course! Especially not when again you order an accompanying glass of port and are again presented with a thimble-full. We would have discussed our thoughts and feedback with Tom on the night, but we were told he wasnโt there. If youโre spending ยฃ700 on a meal for two, you ought really to feel a little more spoiled than this. Tom, donโt spend so much money on fancy, fiddly 3D menus if it means short-changing your clientele. Itโs all style, no substance and a very poor show.
Be the first to ReplyLast minute booking
I had to cancel a previous booking due to CoVid 19 but managed to rebook at short notice. Had an amazing meal, well worth the wait. The snacks were lovely. Mass gathering and just down the road were good, was surprised that Tom served some of the courses. The tastes like chicken was amazing and the desserts were delightful.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing experience
Amazing experience with food and service extraordinary. Incredible attention to my food allergy requirements. I informed I am coeliac at the time of booking and everything was already perfectly organised when I arrived. Very little differences in the menu to adapt for gluten free needs. And waiters really patient in answering my (silly!) questions about the ingredients. A little gem overall and one of a kind for a coeliac

An evening at The Muse guaranties not only first class food, but first class entertainment as well. The cooks, under the friendly supervision and active participation of Tim do their painstakingly correct and decorative job like a well oiled machine. Watching them putting the puzzles on jour plates together is like watching a ballett, or a performance of the famous Pina Bausch Dance Theater. So you get a feast for your palate as well as for your eyes. I loved the service not only done by the excellent and well trained service team, but several of the dishes were served and explained by the individual cooks, and by Tim himself. The wines also were excellent, and the pairings a wonderfull match. Will most certainly try to come again in due time. Many thanks to the lady who arranged it ....
Be the first to ReplyWow! Fantastic experience!
We were absolutely thrilled! Innovative and exciting food with new and fun - and occasionally surprising - taste experiences, wonderful wine pairings as well. Staff is experienced, calm, fun and very knowledgeable, the service impeccable and warm. Being able to watch the inner workings of a starred kitchen is very exciting and like a perfect dance, Chef Aiken is an inspiration to observe. Cannot praise this high enough, it was a pleasure.
Be the first to ReplyItโs good enough
Visited with friends and enjoyed very good food. The menu is very unique with lovely flavours. Wine pairing excellent and the little goodie bag at the end was a nice touch. One thing that the staff should do is ask the table if they want the cheese supplement at the beginning so that they can time the courses, we all wanted cheese and were disappointed and were just advised that the licence runs out at 11pm (how are we to know that) whereas the other table had cheese because they started slightly earlier. The service was good overall but not consistent with some of the staff it could be some are newer than others but also having an opinion on our conversation is not the done thing in my book and not something we have ever had in any other Michelin star restaurant. That said it was a good experience overall and worth a visit but some finessing required.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Dining Experience
Leaving Horse and Groom pub I accidentally discovered Muse, walked in and was able to make a next day lunch reservation, what a stroke of good fortune. Wonderful service and incredible food with chef Thomas Aiken on hand personally plating every course. Call ahead well in advance, thereโs seating for only 20 diners in the restaurant. The menu is set, Iโd skip the optional wine pairings and order a bottle from the reasonably priced wine offerings.
Be the first to ReplyLush experience
A lovely, cosy spot in a very atmospheric neighbourhood. Truly excellent staff, including the kitchen brigade serving the actual dishes. Great cuisine, with a nice creative touch (in terms of 'special effects' and storytelling sometimes reminding us of the Fat Duck). It's all rather intimate, to the extent that seats are quite close to each other: don't expect silent, serene surroundings - it's a noisy, lively setting.
Be the first to ReplyWe expected better
The restaurant is cute and had a nice atmosphere, unfortunately the food didnโt live up to its reputation in our opinion. Few good outstanding dishes, standout steak tartare snack, excellent quality lamb was enjoyable as was the brill and the tomato dish. Lots of inconsistencies on other dishes, lobster portion was very tiny and we found the chocolate dessert very dense with a lot of rubbery orange flavour gelatine in between the layers. We looked forward to trying the langoustine but they offered a slightly overcooked scallop dish instead. Overall we did enjoy the evening and would recommend it unfortunately we just found it a little overpriced for what they offered.
Be the first to ReplyExpect the unexpected!
Architecturally this place is a maze of joy, is incredible how they made the most of every single space in the building. Then you have the food another roller coaster of flavors, textures and presentation, they have it all. Finally the staff, we chat with the Pastry/pantry chef de partie and Ex. Pastry Chef the entire lunch, not to mention the front of the house super attentive and knowledgeable. We will come back!
Be the first to ReplyDinner and service awesome
This was one of our better dinners on our London, France and Italy travels. The food was great and each dish came with a story/history as is becoming popular with the higher end restaurants. The service was excellent and the wine list extensive. I am not much of a bread person but even the bread was so good. First time I ever seen a customer ask the staff if they could purchase a loaf of the bread they serve (which they accommodated). Desert was also wonderful. Awesome meal from start to finish. Great restaurant by Tom Aikens.
