Not one to normally leave a review but feel it is necessary. I was staying for the weekend with my partner attending an event at the Royal Albert Hall. My parents were also staying in a separate room. First impressions were good- friendly staff at check-in and nice entrance/foyer. Room was quite small and dated, but bathroom was nice. Room had plenty of useful items e.g. sewing kit, bath mat, iron/ironing board. I got woken up at 8am Saturday morning by loud renovations in the room next door- so loud and irritating that evening getting ready was infuriating. I complained to the front desk and they told me to pack up my things and I had the option of 2 rooms- one room was very cramped and the other similar to my first room. After choosing, I had to pack my bags and move them to the new room myself. Later on I noticed the furniture in the room was damaged/falling apart. Finally at check-out, we were able to leave our bags as we went for breakfast - my case was returned to me damaged (handle broken) and when I mentioned this to the member of staff, he said very insincerely "sorry" and that was that. My parents also had problems- no working shower the first morning and then we were informed that evening, despite mentioning the fault in the morning, that the shower had not been fixed. We needed to get ready for an event that evening so this was less than ideal. Finally told some time later it actually had been fixed- faff yet again. No complimentary breakfasts offered or refund given for so much inconvenience. Considering we paid a lot of money for this "experience" I'm absolutely shocked- had MUCH better stays in lower budget hotels- wouldn't bother wasting your money.
