One of the Fairmont Resort's restaurants.
Excellent quality seafood and 'Maui-affordable" prices. Still pricey, but worth it. The bar is lovely and the bartenders and friendly and knowledgable. Casual atmosphere but high end options. A lovely dinner for those staying at the resort!
Be the first to ReplyNicks has an outstanding view within the fairmont hotel.
The service was great and food was well prepared. I took the chance on the scallops being fresh and they were decent. The bananas foster stole the show. Be advised this is still a family hotel so the crowd is loud and obnoxious.
Be the first to ReplyOur waiter Aundre acted very bothered to wait on us.
Never checked on us. I asked to keep the drink menu and he said no, they were too busy tonight. Our food took an hour and a half to come out. Food was fine but after everyone else in Maui has been so outgoing and happy tonight was a letdown. Definitely dine somewhere else.
Be the first to ReplyDinner was great at Nick's.
Gorgeous setting and very friendly staff. I had the macadamia crusted mahi mahi and really enjoyed it. Others in my party had the ahi, heads up that if you want it rare you have to specifically ask for rare.

Fantastic, all the way around! Searched high and low for the perfect place to take my mom out for her birthday and I'm so glad we came here. I can't remember our waiters name but he was probably one of the best waiters I've ever had (and we eat at high end restaurants a lot). He really stood out. The food was great! My only complaint is the scallops dish was tiny, it did not fill me up but it was delicious! The fish entrees and specials portions were huge though! Drinks were also great and they comped a drink and a dessert for my mom for her bday. I wish you could see more of the water from the restaurant but you really just see the pool FYI water view is pretty limited.

Crusted Mahi was phenomenal along with the red snapper piccata. Views are second to none and all the cocktails were the same
Be the first to ReplyEverything about this place is spectacular.
The service is on point from the moment you enter- with attentive, engaged staff for the duration. The food was top-notch, including the cocktails and dessert.

Great food and service is always full of extra Aloha! Bill our server was patient kind and gave us our delish meals timely. Had the HH Wagyu sliders, shrimp cocktail, fish tacos and scrumptious cheesecake with strawberry sauce and crรจme brรปlรฉe. Our opus were big by the time we left but we all had such fun and Bill and his team really made us feel like home. We will return soon and hope Bill will kindly be our server.

My fiance and I came here based on a recommendation from some friends and Nick's was an EXCELLENT experience in an amazing location. Overlooking the beautiful Fairmont Kea Lani, the views are excellent. We were seated at an outdoor table, just in time to start watching the sun set. We started with the charred octopus an an appetizes, which was delicious. I had the Blood Orange Old Fashioned and she had the Mai Tai. For the main course, we both went with the special, the opakapaka. This is also recommended by our friend. It was AMAZING. Probably the best piece of fish I've ever had. Service was excellent from start to finish. This was the perfect spot for our fancy dinner while on Maui. It certainly wasn't cheap, but for a very special dinner, it was worth it.

While staying at the Fairmont in December we decided we'd like to host a dinner for some family and decided on Nicks. We had a party of 9, subject to automatic gratuities and we were treated just that way. Our server was a large gruff character that treated us like an automatic meal ticket and dismissed our family and my kids as if our $1000+ was not the same money as his other tables. We didn't receive the same care or attention as those around us, no pre bus, no proper check backs, no sharing of the menu properly. My eleven year old had to ask for oyster source, proper explanation on dishes and prompt for empty dishes to be pulled. The food was ok, maybe even good, but not great enough to offset the lack of care we received. It wasn't until the bill came that I realized why we were probably treated this way- automatic gratuity. Why provide something you don't have to. I originally thought it was because we were local and maybe didn't appear to have the same money the tourist next to us did, but I really think it was just because we were an automatic $200+ without the work. I love tipping and I love tipping for great service, it's how I made my living and paved my way through my early years but I also am very aware that TIPS are To Insure Proper Service. It is the first time in my life that I didn't add additional money to the gratuity and honestly it was enough of a let down to make me want to speak to management of the hotel. (I didn't because it wasn't appropriate for why I was there -too unwind after a very strenuous community reach out) but I look back on my time in Maui for that visit and the only black spot is Nicks Fish Market. Thank god for the good company, beautiful ambiance, acceptable plating, nice wine and cocktail options or I would've blew my lid. Celebrating a grueling 3 month long venture would've been completely lost if not for the space and the kitchen.
Be the first to ReplyI don't easily give out 5 stars but I would say Nicks
I don't easily give out 5 stars but I would say Nicks earned a repeat visit. The venue in the Fairmont is good - protected from the wind but open and airy. Seated on time and the service was prompt and courteous. Good advice from the server. Wine list was a bit light on the white side but sufficient. The Ahi tuna appetizer was great. Super tender. The macadamia nut mayo was done very well and they subbed out the purple yams for Jasmin rice which was appreciated. The majong catch of the day was excellent. Crรจme brรปlรฉe - would have preferred red berries with it vs blue, but tasty.

It was such a lovely experience!First of all, the ambience was perfect with open air setting overlooking the pool, garden and ocean. We were greeted by lovely staff and felt welcomed as soon as we were seated. Our server Mike was the best part of our experience. He explained the specials and was so knowledgeable about the food they were serving. Mike obviously enjoys his job, he is pro active and polite. We had the seafood chowder which was served with lots of crab and Hawaiian fish. So perfect! Then we had crab cakes which had fresh crab taste served with tartar sauce and lovely lemon salad. The seared diver scallops was served with goat cheese tortellini (perfect combination) and the citrus butter sauce was just delectable! The strawberry cheesecake was ok.We were surprised by an anniversary dessert which was really sweet. Definitely recommend this restaurant. A bit pricey, but it's Maui. Good to have a treat once in a while. We'll be back!

I have my mom (who has many food sensitivities) and aunt and daughter and we enjoyed eating here twice while we were here. The food is wonderful because you get to taste the flavor of the food and enjoy the wholesomeness of what food should taste like, We really had such a great dinner experience with our server Cyrus (I hope I spelled his name right, who served on 2/17 around 6pmish) such a fun and enjoyable personality. He naturally made us all laugh. It's it's one of my joyful moments to spend with my family there. Thank you!

My brother would say this is the best food is ever eaten the rack of lamb is unbelievable. Of course the owner is Greek and says he knows how to cook lamb Always excellent always a treat to go here. They are amazing services always top notch they pay attention to every little detail.
Be the first to ReplyHighly recommended indeed.
Every entree on this menu is just damn right good and different.
Be the first to ReplyThis was a return visit from 2022.
I struggle to give it a 3. The seating and service was adequate. But food quality was well below what should be expected from a fish market restaurant. Rubbery Mahi Mahi- Overly sweet strawberry beet salad with goat cheese that was left out of the dish and served late. Good octopus. Average ahi. Again, not what you would expect for a seafood destination restaurant. But what really left a bad taste- and led to us cancelling a future reservation next week - was game playing with the bill. 'Kitchen surcharge' was a line item. Their words. On leaving I asked what it was for - it wasn't the $ that caught my eye- they said it was code for a mandatory tip for the kitchen staff. I like that the staff share in tips, really. But when you hide it people end up tipping on a bill that already had tips on it. Deceitful practice. At least be transparent what you charge. As a matter of principle I cancelled future reservations. Tipping on top of tips? Seriously? Fix this. And fix food quality. I hope that the manager Doug M responds to the last three reviews too. At this point I will drive to the Paia Fish Market and eat at a picnic table instead.

This setting was not what I had imagined when I heard "fish market," but the grounds blew me away! Before we were seated, we sampled some drinks and were not disappointed - the expresso martini and lava flow were favorites. Nick's served a four-course meal for my work team's celebration dinner. To start, we had crab cakes, seared bluefin tuna, and kalua pork dumplings. The Greek-style salad was so fresh! For entrees, I had to order the scallops with feta tortellini (decadent), but I heard great things from my table about the filet mignon, mahi mahi, and catch of the day. The strawberry panzini dessert might have been the most spectacular one I've seen in some time as the servers poured flames over the strawberries and chocolate.
Be the first to ReplyThis was truly one of the worst meals we had in Hawaii.
First zero attention to detail, 1/4 of the hanging lights were burnt out or missing. My wife's chicken was inedible. My ahi was fine, but no where near what you would expect for a 50+ plate.
Be the first to ReplyYou pay for scenery and it's beautiful.
We came for my dads birthday and they took good care of us, the octopus was exquisite very yummy.
Be the first to ReplyFood and service is terrific.
Not inexpensive but as good as it gets food wise. We usually go 2-3 times furor annual 5 week visit to Maui.

The shrimp scampi was ok the service was kind of slow and the shrimp was super salty and had almost no flavor except for garlic.Even though they were kind of slow the atmosphere was very nice and I could see myself coming back in the future.

So could be our luck, but we were seated in a booth that had a very musky smell, not only we could smell it the entire time, but it's also overpowered the aroma of food. To make matters worse, when we ordered appetizer with seafood chowder, we found paper inside of it. Waiter said that it must have been a receipt. They took it off the bill, but still isn't the nicer experience to chew paper. Lamb chops were suppose to be medium, but were deff more on the med rare side. Stake with potatoes was good but potatoes and veggies were pretty undercooked. Service was good. I think the kitchen is rushing too much...
Be the first to ReplyWent there yesterday.
ย This was one of our go to restaurants every time we come to Maui. ย Not anyone. ย First we had rsvp for 8:30 we called to see if we could get earlier they said 8:15. Got there at 8 and sat us right away. ย It did not look busy w/ plenty of open tables the minute ย we sat down we felt rushed. ย Busboys clearing tables taking off seat cushions ect Wife ordered lobster w/ loaded mac. Which tasted salty old n fishy mac was ok I ordered ribeye. ย Horrible tasted old n no flavor. ย 2/3 into our meal waiter finally shows back up wife told him it was not good he says "oh you should have said something " we would have had you came around Also it's not the nicks of old in Chicago when you order lobster and have to ask for butter n lemons He offered to comp a glass of wine I ordered. ย Wine selection was only good thing Totally felt rushed the whole timeThe last kicker we got a dessert to go as we didn't want to overstay as they were closing. ย This is a resort area they didn't give us utensils. ย Never again for that kind of money
