Is very good, good enough at these prices?
Cannot fault the service it was perfect. Food was great we had the wagyu type tacos which were beautiful morsels, the tuna sashima salad was fresh and tangy, the lobster tempura with honey was a fantastic dish and the sashimi was mixed (scallop/tuna outstanding, snapper and salmon we have had better) but it was tasty, fresh and presented beautifully. Mochi to finish was nice as well. Wine menu though was poor, I expect markup but nonalcoholic wine bottles ($13 in store @ $52) and very limited 'by the glass' selections of some very average/poor wines means your options are ridiculously limited if only one person is drinking.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible and expensive experience
Terrible and expensive experience last weekend with friends. Itโs seems Nobu is in trouble with personnel. We arrived at 9pm and took half an hour for the waitress to get our order. Tuna Caviar was not good despite the $60 dollars price. Overall food was average. It has not been our first time, but definitely was the last.
Be the first to Replyamazing service and food
The customer service was exceptional, celebrated my daughters birthday and the staff were hospitable and quick to take orders when required. Highly recommend
Be the first to ReplySignature 7 course dinner was excellent
Dinner for 2 in Feb 2023. Have read previous reviews so we were interested to experience Nobu ourselves. We had the Nobu Omakase signature 7 course dinner. Food was excellent and 7 courses were more then enough. Service was attentive, no problems and no loud music thankfully. Found the beer and wine selection very good. Yes expensive but a memorable dinning experience. Would go back again.
Be the first to ReplyFood was nice, service abysmal
3 of us went to Nobu for lunch last Saturday . The food was Nice, but, nowhere worth the price. The service was abysmal, right from the start. We were kept waiting at least 10 minutes before they showed us to our seats.they delivered the wrong food, said they would serve the correct dish, they didnโt, but they charged us, we ordered wine, they delivered it to the serving bay, but after 15 minutes we had to go & get it ourselves. We also had to pour it ourselves. The staff rather then serving customers, generally chatted amongst themselves. We complained & Han a supervisor was understanding & apologized. They asked us to complete a survey, which we did outline the above, they have done nothing , I donโt know why we completed the survey. How they can charge the sort of money they do & then provide this service is mystifying.
Be the first to ReplySuper expensive low quality hotel restaurant
We booked for our daughter's significant birthday and asked for a view. We got one, over a building site. The music was an awful thumping musac that was way too loud for an upmarket establishment. When we asked to turn it down, they said they couldn't, because it was a 'DJ'! Weird. The service started out OK, but soon deteriorated. Almost harassed to order our food, when it did come out it was hard to work out how they made Japanese food so incredibly bland. Tiny. Tasteless. Served on crappy white plates you can buy at Kmart for $3. Then they forgot to take our plates away and when we tried to get their attention, we simply couldn't until I stood up. "Bill please, no tip, sorry". This is NOT a place for a special occasion. There are literally dozens of better up market restaurants in Sydney to choose from.
Be the first to ReplyA lovely experience
After dining at Nobu in Dubai a few years ago and loving it, I was excited to see how Nobu in Sydney would match up. We had the Signature Seven course tasting menu and it was delightful-- I particularly enjoyed the sushi course.
Be the first to ReplyNo for Nobu
Super expensive. Great drinks , great service , shocking food especially given the prices. Left hungry, really disappointed
Be the first to ReplyGreat food but service is not up to speed
Have a business dinner here. This is the fourth time we are here, the food is always good yet the service and waitresses need more training. Water did not get top up until being ask and even so take a long time to come back. After few entrees we order rice with four main dishes. But the rice did not serve after the third mains already arrived. Have to chase it, not a five stars restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyLived up to its reputation- great experience
Beautiful restaurant with great views. Staff were super great! Food was excellent. We had the set menu and the pace of delivery was perfect. Each dish was a pleasant surprise. Desert was the show stopper for me being a sweet tooth. Green tea mochi icecream- yum.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food quality & presentation. Wonderful service.
Thoroughly enjoyable experience shared with a smaller group of colleagues in an intimate, private room at Nobu. The food dishes were outstanding, with excellent presentation, colours, ingredients, textures & of course everything was super fresh. The wait staff, restaurant ambiance, decor were fantastic. I will definitely be returning.
Be the first to ReplyWagyu Tacos
Wagyu tacos were โoff their headโ as my friend matty says. Really fresh and delicious would highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyBetter the second time around
We had visited Nobu in Melbourne and to be honest I wasn't really impressed. Being Vegetarian can be hard sometimes. This time it was completely different with several options for me on the menu all which were divine! We actually went for the NOBU OMAKASE Signature Seven Course which was incredible. It was easy to see why this place has become an International sensation across the world. Definitely a place you need to visit to spoil yourself.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding food selection, Quality, and Beautiful flavours. Wonderful!!!
Outstanding menu selection, with wonderful quality, texture and flavours. I absolutely loved the variety on the menu - it really was exceptional. Each dish on the menu we enjoyed was fabulous in flavour, clearly all fresh ingredients, and the presentation was excellent. I will definitely be rebooking this again and highly recommend this be enjoyed by others. Also a mention to the wait staff. You did a wonderful job and offered world class service. Top marks.
Be the first to ReplyMy Lunch Time in Sydney
Average service but average to poor food quality. It is not a actual Japanese restaurant as they do not serve Japanese rice. They will give you normal rice.
Be the first to ReplyBFF that celebrate & fine dine together!! Beautiful Experience!!
Wonderful experience from start to finish. We were greeted and seated at their best seat with water views, as requested when I booked. Service was impeccable, with our waiter suggesting their best cocktails and food that would not disappoint and that would make great photos to remember ๐ The ambience was luxe and relaxing, calm for a Sunday lunch. Food creatively executed, delicious flavours and absolutely mouthwatering. Loved every dish and cocktails consumed but our most favourite would be : - Lobster and Wagyu Taco - Black Cod Miso - Seafood Toban Yaki - Baby Tiger Prawn Tempura - Cheesecake - Mango Pannacotta - Yuki No Hana cocktail Thank you Charlene and Nobu team we had a memorable, filling experience, celebrating our BFF friendship and birthday
Be the first to ReplyThis is not Nobu at its finest
We came here for an anniversary dinner and were seated at the service exit in between two families with children in high chairs. I asked to move when I could hear the little one's iphone blaring a tv show next to me and couldn't hear my husband. The waiter moved us to a table a few metres away. Overall, It was a pretty average experience. We are a few different waiter, none of whom seemed to know the menu that well or could make any recommendations. Meals came out extremely quickly and were already pre prepared. Only one or two dishes were particularly note worthy and the cocktail was undrinkable. I asked for a pino gris (with no recommendation of wine) and received a rose.
Be the first to ReplyGreat wedding anniversary dinner
We had a lovely wedding anniversary dinner at Nobu. The service was excellent with enthusiastic young staff. The 7 course meal we had was great. (Note that Nobu does Japanese food with a Peruvian influence so donโt expect the usual Japanese cuisine.) The negatives were the music - not too loud but a bit too disco for us - and the general atmosphere - a bit too glitzy for us but fits with the casino setting.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
This is NOT fine dining, despite the price tag. Service is good, wine list average and food below what youโd expect at any high quality Japanese restaurant.
Be the first to ReplySuch poor service
If the night started poorly at TWR Crown, then Nobu was even worse, it took 12 minutes before our son went to a manager to get some service, yes 12 minutes, we were attended by a manager from that point one received a complimentary rose, but the whole experience was marred, food was ok but there are several better Japanese restaurants in Sydney, we will not be going back
Be the first to ReplyAmazing dishes & service
Nobu
Amazing food and very attentive service. We shared 5 dishes (including the black cod), 3 tacos (that are only bite size) plus dessert, but 3-4 dishes would have been plenty. The Margarita & saki where great. Looking forward to returning.
Incredible experience
Nobu was an Incredible experience. We ordered the tasting menu which was 7 courses. The highlights were the miso black cod and the sushi plate. It was the freshest fish Iโve ever tasted. The waiter was very attentive, they had lots of decently priced wines given the food is quite expensive. Would recommend to anyone looking for a special occasion
Be the first to ReplyOverrated and overpriced Nobu at the Crown Sydney will need to lift its game,
As a world renown international restaurant we found it to be overrated and overpriced . The range of dishes, although nice enough were nothing special as you would expect in a restaurant at this level.
Be the first to ReplyNoisy, poor service and only average food
Had booked for a family celebration meal and had high expectations based of our previous experiences with Nobu in Hawaii and London.
First impressions were not great: the music was incredibly loud. The wait staff struggled to hear and normal conversation was difficult. The noise was not helped by a hard floor with extensive windows, all of which reflected the music back. Whilst there were some Darling Harbour views, there was also a lot of building site to look at.
Service was poorly co-ordinated: there were plenty of staff, they just did not seem to know what they were doing or who was in charge. Ordered cocktails, which never came. Starters arrived quickly but still nothing to drink but water until main course arrived and in desperation ordered some wine. Starters and main were OK but nothing beyond what you would expect a (much more economically priced) local Japanese restaurant.
Really disappointing. An embarrassment fro Nobu and Crown Casino.
Nobu in name only!
Not up to the Nobu name.
Seriously underwhelmed by most of it. Music was way too loud and more suited to a nightclub than a classy restaurant.
Service was terrible, with poorly trained and obviously inexperienced staff with too many tables to cover.
Food was good with 2 notable exceptions: stuffed zucchini flower tempura were dripping in oil and really ruined what should have been a great dish, also creamy crab was really poor - way too much cream it took away from the crab.
First meal out of lockdown and it wasnโt as good some of the takeaways weโve had over the last few months! Definitely not worth the $$$$
Will not return.
