Nobu Chicago Reviews
Came here for a work dinner and the food is what it is.
.. personally, I didn't think it was anything special for the price. I wouldn't come back here if I was spending my own $$- there's so many other amazing restaurants in the area that have bigger portions, better food and a better price tag. You're definitely just paying for the "Nobu" name to eat here which I totally get, but isn't for me. The only reason I'd come back here is to go to the rooftop to get a drink, but besides that I haven't had a reason to come back.
AMAZING SERVICE NOBU CHICAGO!
We had an amazing stay at Nobu and my friend had an amazing birthday celebration. Everyone has been hospitable, thanks to the Nobu staff over there especially Juan, he made our stay memorable and extra special, heโs very accomodating, very warm and weโll definitely be back for his wonderful personalized service! Thank you Nobu and Juan for a great stay. - room 718
Corn is a no/never again and they still get 5 stars.
The fried okra was even cold and they get 5 stars. I had to assemble my own tacos and THEY STILL GET 5 STARS! I don't even have to address the crispy rice I'm just going to thank God for it and ask that I'm also able to find room in the budget for it.
Came here for happy hour.
The server was slow and ignored us, gave us a cheaper prices menu and then switched it out later. The food was just okay, good quality but taste was kind of off especially for the chicken karage. The salmon avocado maki was good, the tuna with crispy rice was okay but the tuna came out all mashed together. The ambiance in Nobu is nice, but all in all, would probably not come here for happy hour again, there are better places to go to spend your money.
Wedding Weekend at the Nobu Villa
Wedding Weekend at the Nobu Villa Our wedding weekend at the Nobu Chicago Hotel was exactly what we had hoped for. We had decided to make our reservation for the Nobu Villa over the Sake Suite which was well worth difference in price. From the moment we stepped into the Nobu Villa, the spacious layout and views of the surrounding Chicago skyline had made a strong impression on us, our families, and our wedding party. The tasteful details of the room decor and lighting had made the perfect setting for our wedding party photos and videos. This location also had an in-house valet service that had provided us a convenient way to navigate to-and-from the busy streets in West Loop. Upgrading from the Sake Suite to the Nobu Villa was a worthwhile decision. The enhanced space, luxurious bathroom amenities, and breathtaking views made our stay unforgettable and provided the perfect backdrop for our wedding weekend. If you're considering a stay at Nobu Chicago, especially for a special occasion, I would highly recommend treating yourself to the Nobu Villa. Thank you to the staff at Nobu Chicago and especially the director, Aldo, for making our wedding weekend a dream come true. We are looking forward to our next visit!
My wife had a special birthday night out with some friends
My wife had a special birthday night out with some friends tonight. I tried to do something nice for her and her friends by ordering (and paying for in advance) a nice bottle of Prosecco or wine to be at the table when they arrived. I was informed by the hostess on the phone that management doesn't allow this, and that they "have a policy". It seems to me like a pretty standard thing to allow, especially if you're a purported fine dining establishment that wants patrons to come back. I would love to hear the rationale behind this non-sensical policy. Because I have my own very rational policy: "I don't dine at places that have unexplained and illogical policies".
Last night I had the best birthday dinner of my life.
We were turned away from the place we had reserved for being just 9 minutes late, and we walked up the street, looking for a place nice enough not to feel overdressed. Nobu seemed lovely, and tho I had never heard of it, our daughter had and assured us we would get a good meal. (She was flabbergasted we were seated right away and said it must be a sign the cosmos wanted me to have a happy birthday.) Did we ever. The decor was gorgeous, and the food was exquisite, Japanese with a Peruvian accent. And our server, Bishop, did an extraordinary job. Amiable, informative, and humorous, he guided us through the menu and enabled us to choose dishes we could share and enjoy. When you're in Chicago and want a memorable culinary experience, you won't be sorry if you give Nobu a try.
Friendly Staff + Excellent Location
My first stay at this Nobu location was back in April of 2024 with friends. Tiffany at the front desk was so kind and hospitable during that visit that when I had to return to Chicago in July with family, I made it a point for us to book our stay at Nobu just because of her. She truly is so friendly and accommodating, and it was so nice to see her again. This time around I also interacted with Juan at the front desk, who was incredibly sweet! We had a really late evening flight and he very kindly extended our check out time so we could make the most out of our stay at the hotel. After a long day of walking around on our last day, when we were waiting for our car to the airport in the lobby, Gus approached us with ice-cold waters without us even asking โ so thoughtful! Once our car arrived, he helped usher us out and politely placed our luggage in the vehicle as well. Tiffany, Juan, and Gus are truly gems! The location itself is excellent, very close to restaurants and stores.

Had 7o clock reservation didn't even get the table until 845 . I ordered tuna taco I swear I have been to many countries never seen such scam tacos were literally smaller then pinky finger 2 tacos for 25 dollar . It's not a bite not even half bite it's quarter bite tacos me and my wife were laughing so hard . I told my host you have microscope to see where my tacos are . Don't believe me go there and order and see . Simply horrible
Great service, beautiful rooms, delicious food, terrific location.
Excellent, 5-star service. Wonderful sushi restaurant. Beautiful rooftop lounge + bar, though on weekends it is inundated with "influencers" being fabulous taking selfies. Rooms are well-appointed, beautiful furnished. Suites are large, very comfortable bed. State-of-the-art Smart TVs with wireless capabilities from your device to screen. Heated bathroom floors. Overall an excellent experience. I am a business traveler who has stayed at many properties globally, and this ranks amongst the best. Certainly my top 3 in Chicago.
Cool hotel, cool area, great service
Best customer service ever from front desk to housekeeping to bell hop! Ashley is amazing! Get the zen suite with corner view and tub. Shops and restaurants in walking distance and late night entertainment as well. Wish it had a spa though ๐
TL; DR: Great view from the rooftop Nobu is a great place
TL; DR: Great view from the rooftop Nobu is a great place to sit and enjoy the view. I am not a huge fish person, so I just sipped on a cocktail. If you are like me, going for 1 drink and enjoying the view was great! If you do like fish, you will enjoy the menu selection too!
Gino rocks!
Amazing service overall but Gino was the best!! He was so kind, so professional and gave us great recommendations to eat at local restaurants. Beds comfortable, even the roll away. Amenities were top of line and the lychee martini was absolutely fabulous.
Consistent with fresh ingredients.
Experience all Nobu locations including La Cienaga. Solid.
Incredible experience
I want to start off by saying, dinner was unbelievable. When we arrived, the hostess was not very pleasant. She didnโt greet us and after a couple minutes, handed us off to somebody else who took us to our seats. When we sat down, we were next to a mother and her child, which isnโt terrible, other than we wanted a romantic evening together. The child was very loud, and without us even saying a word, the waiter said, would you like to move to a quieter seat? (They were moving others around us as well and we were so happy that he asked and we immediately obliged) He Can you verify took us to the most incredible table, right by the kitchen. Our new waitress was equally as good as the first waiter we had. We decided we would order the omakase and then we got nervous after we did it, because itโs expensive. But all I can tell you is it was absolutely incredible. There were so many things that made this experience even better, if thatโs possible. Anytime somebody got seated at a table, the kitchen yelled, omakase! We loved it. Anytime we had a dish that we finished, before we blinked, someone picked it up. The service was impeccable. I donโt say that much because itโs not so often that you get to experience this level of culinary greatness and service. But we certainly got to see that tonight. What an amazing treat.

We visited here on a Friday.
Early reservation; right at opening. Hostess seemed a bit rude but I suppose that is to be expected. We felt the restaurant was more hype than substance. The food was ok and nicely presented, however a bit overpriced for what it was. I'd say, for us, it's a one and done visit.
Nobu Chicago
I stay at the Nobu Chicago for work often. On a recent stay I was reminded why I enjoy it there so much. The staff is friendly, professional and accommodating. That being said there is nobody better than Juan Rodriguez. He is brilliant. Thank you.
10/10 West Loop Hotel Experience
Nobu Hotel is definitely a 5 star when it comes to ambiance and service. Itโs a must stay when in Chicago. Aldo made our experience amazing! He greeted us with warm towels for our hands and a glass of champagne. Top notch service to match this high end hotel!
Staff at Nobu Hotel
My trip to Chicago was made by the staff of Nobu Hotel! Chataun and ALL the staff at this fabulous hotel were absolutely wonderful. They were so helpful, friendly, and kind. You can tell they love what they do. I can't praise this hotel enough!

Excellent service and selections for a varied group of guests. Thank you for a great dinner setting!
10/10 stay, would recommend
Hotel exceeded our expectations! We went to the rooftop for a drink before dinner and it was a vibe! The lychee martini was delicious and the DJ was playing great jams! Gino was great at the door and was super helpful with recommendations. We will be back!
Outstanding hotel with amazing staff (at every level) and delicious cuisine!!!
I recently came to Chicago to attend a concert and visit friends. I was told by a friend that Nobu was the place to stay, so I booked a few nights at the hotel. It was in a hopping area of the south loop and was close to the United Center. The hotel was quaint and up-scale but still felt homey. The staff was outstanding! I interacted with so many people in the hotel that went way above and beyond - the housekeeper from Cameroon (whose name I wish that I could remember), Michelle (Reservations Supervisor), Juan (front desk) and Savannah (bartender)...and so many more. I strongly recommend the hotel, even for a solo traveler like me, as I felt safe, at home and taken care during my entire stay. And, I would be remiss if I didn't mention how outstanding the Nobu restaurant is...I had the most epic meal there! All around a fun long weekend, and I now have a favorite place to stay when visiting Chicago. :-)
You made this task easy for me!
Ms. Ramirez/Michelle, Just a note to say that I appreciate all of your help. You made this task easy for me! For the record, our guest (6) had great things to say about their stay at Nobu. I will not hesitate to contact you to arrange accommodations for our guests in the future. Thank you again! Best regards, Vernita A. Wickliffe Lewis, MPA/PSA Program Coordinator/Office Manager
Overall amazing. Will definitely be back.
Service was amazing. Best experience ive had at a hotel. Beds were very comfortable. Very beautiful room and we had an amazing view of the city. The rooftop was a great experience as well. Drinks were amazing and enjoyable. The vibe was great too. We enjoyed our time there very much.
5 out 5 ๐๐ป
The hotel has such a cool vibe, very relaxing, clean and the Nobu team were very friendly and very helpful from the minute I arrived, Gino escorted me to my room with all my luggage and showed me all the amenities. I went for a workout walk/run and when I came back they had a cold bottle of water ready for me at the front desk. My boyfriend wanted to send flowers during my stay and Juan arrange to have lovely flowers sent to my room on behalf of my boyfriend and he told me how great and helpful Juan was. The location of the hotel was awesome several restaurants and bars within walking distance. The sushi restaurant was so delicious if you like fresh outstanding sushi Nobu will not disappoint! My over-all stay I would give a five stars out of 5 for sure.๐๐ป
Staycation success!
My stay at the Nobu hotel in Chicago began with a warm welcoming from Juan and Chataun at the front desk. The hotel itself has a compelling sultry and an alluring feel to it. Upon my husbands and my arrival, Abel generously provided thoughtful amenities for us in our room. Our room was spacious and Nobu Hotel Chicago delighted us with its sophistication. The location of the hotel provided an array of bars and restaurants surrounding it. I am very pleased with the opening of this hotel and I am definitely looking forward to my next stay!
Incredible
One of the best hotel stays Iโve ever had. Emily and Ashley at the front desk made my stay one of a kind and truly were the most accommodating and kind staff. The room was clean, quiet and spacious. The location is so great for restaurants, shopping and easy transportation. Everything about my stay was perfect.
Heather is amazing!
Heather in the Nobu bar was amazing! She was friendly and fun and had recommendations on things to do nearby and was like a friend in the hour we spent there! She was so much fun and We absolutely loved her and she took such good care of us! Juan at the front desk was friendly and fun as well and very personable! He made sure to keep us informed on our room status as we had arrived early and we greatly appreciated his attentiveness! Amanda & Shelby

This was such a great time; I first went to Nobu in Miami a few yrs ago. The reservation was for 6:15p, it was not too busy for a Friday night but it definitely picked up around 8 when we were about to leave. The ambiance is beautiful, the food, drinks and service were top notch. I had the starter yellowtail jalapeรฑo which originated with them and you can taste it. My friend had the sushi and the lollipop wings. The lychee Martini (best seller) and French 75 was great as well. She loved her dishes, and so did I, after for the mains, we both got the lamb. We had such a great time and our waiter was so relatable, knowledgeable and friendly, he was so funny! We will definitely come back very soon.
All I can say is this restaurant is 100% worth the hype.
The food is soooooooo yummy, service is great and the ambiance is really nice.
I ordered the shiitake mushroom salad and a yellowtail hand
I ordered the shiitake mushroom salad and a yellowtail hand roll for take out last night and am aghast at the quality. A good portion of the salad had wilted and rotten leaves. One even had visible mould! I tried eating what seemed like "ok" leaves since I was already back at my hotel and ended up with a stomachache a few hours later. This is not what I expected from a 5 star establishment. I will not be coming back again
The ambience and overall atmosphere was wonderful.
From the minute you walk in the door you are amazed at how beautiful the inside of this place is. The food and drinks were great! My girlfriends and I had lychee martinis and we absolutely loved them. A must have drink! As for the food I think we need to come back and try different options because it was good but not particularly special in my opinion. I'm giving 3 stars because our server was rude and made us feel like an inconvenience. We will be back to try other items on the menu and hopefully get better service!

Yes, it is pricy, but the service and food are worth every penny. It is truly perfection. And the staff was meticulous when dealing with my food allergy, which I greatly appreciate. If you want a special date night dinner, look no further.
Nobu is a No-go.
The vibe was good, but for a place claiming to be high end it didn't really stand out from the average sushi resturaunt. The menu it's self could use a little more organization. It's almost like playing a game of " Menu Russian Roulette" you don't know if the item you ordered is an actual entree or tapas style. I started by ordering the $60 Alaskan King crab. It was pretty much one finger of a crab leg cut up into a little pieces. After realizing that it was not going to be a full meal I then ordered Waygu tacos. I was expecting the tacos to be small, but to call this a taco is an injustice. It should be titled either mini taco or taco bite. All in all if you asked me what I had for dinner last night I am not really sure. I think I only ate appetizers.
I came here last week on my birthday and sat at the bar
I came here last week on my birthday and sat at the bar with three of my friends. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive. The drinks were amazing. I cannot get over how great the experience was and the drinks the bartender made us were fantastic!
Came on a freezing MLK day after getting a haircut.
We didn't even eat here because the staff think they work the door at Studio 54. The hostess literally said "the bar is open" when we walked in. No hi or anything else. I asked if it's was the same menu, in a voice that said I could care less she says "yes" with a literal eye roll. There's legit 6 people here for lunch in the bar and all the tables say "reserved." So we wait for the waitress to be free and then ask if we can sit down and she said "oh you need to check in with the hostess" again with an eye roll like I just asked her what E= MC squared means. I'm like we did and she told us to come over. And she's like "ok" with the expression of zombie. I'm like "can we sit anywhere?" She is like "yah." I'm well it all says reserved on all tables and she is like "you can sit if you want" again in the most "I could give a rats ass" voice. That's when we just left. I get it, it's Nobu, but this is Chicago so take that stank ass attitude and shove it. There are plenty of better sushi options in this city where the staff don't act like bunch of Kardashians.

The staff is what sets the Nobu apart!! 5 star service
One of the best luxury hotels in the city. The upgraded room with the soaking tub is amazing along w the city views. The bed wraps you in comfort. The thing that sets this establishment apart from the others is the world class service. Alex, the blonde bombshell โบ๏ธ, at the front desk provided impeccable service. When I checked in I had just finished a 5 hr train ride and was a bit of a hot mess. He made me feel comfortable and welcomed. Aldo, the manager, went above and beyond by being exceptionally understanding of my unique situation and providing accommodations that most would not allow. I would highly recommend this location especially for females traveling solo in need of additional support.

Perfection
Alex was AMAZING. He made us feel welcome and provided a superior guest experience. I have never been to Nobu (hotel) before but I will certainly be back. The room was beautiful. We booked the Yubune suite for our 10 year wedding anniversary and it was all the rage. 10 out of 10, would highly recommend!
Going to Nobu was an amazing experience.
They cultivated a menu based off our likes and dislikes, and catered very well to a gluten allergy. The food was absolutely delicious. The best oysters, Maki, and scallops I have had to date. I came for a special occasion, and they threw in a beautiful desert with congratulations written on tempered chocolate. I left full from the tasting menu experience and would definitely do it again for another special occasion.
Thank you front desk!
Jasmin, Mais and Alex amazing! The front desk made sure to help me with my logistics every time I left and entered the building. Very attentive! Thanks for all your work and the attention to detail. It feels like the new generation of high end hotel. The staff know how and when to ask but are not hovering over you. Iโve been to high end hotels that are old school 5 stars the stay are too close for comfort.
I hear about Nobu everytime I travel.
I passed by one in Chicago at lunchtime and had to try. The service was great and cocktails were very good. I was expecting a larger sushi selection rather than just a few basic rolls. It was definitely worth saying I've been to one of the locations and tried their sushi, because it was delicious! However it was about $70 for 2 cocktails and a 6 piece salmon roll to share, so I would only plan to go if you are willing to treat yourself and prepare to spend closer to $200 for two people if you are really looking to have a meal.
Our experience was just overall terrible.
The food took very long, it came out in no good order. We noticed a bug on one of the sushi rolls. We told the server who was pouring water and he took the entire tray away and said we would get you another one. After he took the tray we noticed they were fruit flies flying around the table. We told our waiter and he said "yeah, there's nothing that I can do about that...Every time there is soy sauce there's going to be fruit flies...but I will talk to my manager".I've eaten at many sushi restaurants and Chinese restaurants with soy sauce always on the table and I never once have I seen fruit flies flying around the table...not to mention this is supposed to be a very upscale restaurant and that is very pricey.None the less I tried to enjoy the night with my family because we were celebrating my daughters 18th Birthday, but my wife could not eat after the bugs. Then they forgot about my drink...But to top it all off when we got the Bill the sushi tray that they took away was still charge to us, and we never got any replacement.I told our waiter, and he seemed to be frustrated. He went back to talk to his manager. Then he came back and they comped a couple drinks! But because of all the disappointment, I didn't even notice that I was charged for something that we didn't even order or eat.And finally, I asked for a receipt and our waiter completely forgot about us. We had to flag him down to get the receipt.I never have an issue with price or paying my bills...even though the overall experience was terrible...I still tipped 20%.I just want it to be known that for a very upscale restaurant, they should do more to make sure that the experience is great for their customers, especially for the price they are paying!
It's a solid 4 star place.
Went with a group of friends and we enjoyed it, but the value is weak. One of the dishes we ordered was not fresh and tasted extremely fishy. I feel like the bare minimum at a sushi specific place is to make sure you're always serving fresh fish.
Wonderful!
Beautiful decor and friendly service! The amenities are classy. Located in a wonderful part of Chicago with a lot of food and drink choices within walking distance. We look forward to visiting again!
Popped up in town to celebrate my buddy's surprise bday.
Fresh off the plane went straight here to see him. It was a long 12 yrs since we've linked up. The service was amazing all the way around from hostess desk to all the cooks, servers etc. They made us feel like we were family and presented us with some of the best food I have had in a long time pre covid. Post covid it seems service is not the same in restaurants and or quality & presentations of food & beverage. That is absolutely NOT the case here! Everything was exquisite and divine. 1st tIme at Nobu's restaurants, won't be my last either. I will definitely tryout Matsuhisa in Colorado!!! It's been a long time since I was amazed and extremely happy with how great the food, beverage flavors & presentations were. From first bite I was speechless and could stop stuffing my face each new item or beverage they presented us with. If you are ever in the Westloop/ Greentown vicinity you must, I repeat must go to Nobu Chicago! Thank you for a great 1st night back in Chicago, that's how you start a Chicago trip!
Exceptional Customer Service
Honestly, we should always expect exceptional service especially from the Nobu, but when a concierge/front desk person goes truly out of her way to be amazing, it must be written about; and Chataun did exactly that! What an incredible human, truly an asset to Chicago's Nobu. Thank you for making my day Chataun.
Awesome anniversary weekend!
Teak wood bath was the everythinf that I wanted, and the staff went out of their way to make our 10yr anniversary really special (even leaving a surprise card and box of chocolate truffles in our room). Everyone was kind and courteous, and our custom meal at the restaurant was delicious! Weโll be back for another relaxing weekend!
Connect with users posting reservations for Nobu Chicago
AppointmentTrader is a community-driven platform where users can exchange their reservations or leverage their personal relationships with Nobu Chicago. Buyers can make informed decisions using automated seller ratings, which reflect past transactions and reliability.
Each posting on AppointmentTrader shows you which user submitted it and along with that provides a trackrecord of that user which indicates how much experience
the user has and how many percent of their transactions resulted in them issuing a refund.
If there is no user posting that fits your schedule, you can bid on your preferred time.
Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Nobu Chicago at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Nobu Chicago page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* ImmortalStep65, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* ImmortalStep65 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to ImmortalStep65 for any questions Peter may have as ImmortalStep65 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* ImmortalStep65 now uses their connections at Nobu Chicago to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If ImmortalStep65 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, ImmortalStep65 receives the $200 reward which is credited to ImmortalStep65's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Nobu Chicago!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
