Olive & Ivy Scottsdale Reviews from The Last Year
Mark Anthony was fantastic! We arrived with a party of 9
Mark Anthony was fantastic! We arrived with a party of 9 and were seated within 5 minutes. Mark Anthony took time to engage with us and explain menu items. Food presentation was inviting. Hot food was hot, and all food was flavorful. Thank you.
First Time for Lunch and Loved It!
We've been here several times for dinner, but a change in the starting time for our ball game opened a new lunch experience. We always love the patio seating because it is much quieter for conversation. The food is excellent. Our server, Andrew, was exceptional. The whole canal area is perfect for a stroll before or after.
Excellent food, great service.
Sea bass was perfect. They split dishes for us, which was super nice. Brussel sprouts were wonderful too.
Always great food, service is awesome and wonderful
Always great food, service is awesome and wonderful ambience. On a nice day nothing beats the patio, great people watching.
Very nice
Beautiful setting, lovely grapefruit mojito, delicious filet and tasty ribs, but the Sancerre was too sweet for our palates. Service was excellent!
Olive & Ivy took me to a realm of romance and captured my
Olive & Ivy took me to a realm of romance and captured my heart. This restaurant is stunning! The decor, soft lighting and flickering candles set the mood perfectly for a cozy dining experience. I wanted something small since I was mainly there to enjoy some wine (i love a place that offers a 9 oz pour) so I decided on the black truffle arancini which was served over the best marinara sauce ever! I ended the night with a warm butterscotch cream cake which was nothing less than amazing. It came with a scoop of vanilla bean gelato on top that melted perfectly together. Dan made me a yummy espresso martini to pair with dessert and it was just the cherry on top. i would highly recommend this place for date night or a girls night out!
Every bite is packed full of flavor.
The lights are dimmed and perfect for intimate settings. Drinks took a while, but were well worth the wait. We were there for a special event, celebratory card on the table and all, but aside from that, nothing special like a complimentary dessert. Not sure if they forgot or not, but my mom wasn't happy that it wasn't as special of a celebration as it could have been.
Great service! We were told it was going to be a 1-2 hour
Great service! We were told it was going to be a 1-2 hour wait for a server, or we could sit outside and order up at the counter which we did and were totally fine with. As we got up to get in line to order a nice waiter stopped us and asked us if we would like to have a server. The food was great, this was the best spicy marg I've ever had in my life. The place is beautiful too!
The wait here is always long.
... make a reservation if you can! We popped in for lunch on a Friday and sat at the bar to avoid the hour wait. The bar tenders were attentive and friendly! We both ordered NA drinks. And thankfully the bartender didn't give us a hard time about it despite sitting at the bar. He mixed me up a mocktail that was delicious. The food was great! We ordered Flatbread and salad and enjoyed both! The restaurant itself is stylish with lots of seating both indoor and outdoor.
Delicious and lovely
Had a lovely meal. Great service and food. Not sure it is truely 'Mediterranean' but we all love it. Gorgeous environment and location.
I used to come here and used to like the food but this
I used to come here and used to like the food but this time, I admit that, I wasn't impressed at all!!! Although the atmosphere is nice, the food... not so much!!! I'm not sure if they have different Chef's or what but our meals were horrible! I had the crab cakes Benedict with egg whites. The crab cake was hard and overly cooked, the egg white had hollandaise sauce that was dried up on top. It was a horrible dish but since I try not to complain at restaurants I'd rather do it here I swooshed it around my plate like a 2yr old after just 2 bites. Looking back, I should've said something. 24hrs later My pals dish ordered?, was also overly prepared(the eggs) and unlike myself who is always chicken, she let them know about her meal, in which, the restaurant prepared over. The best thing about the entire meal was the bread, butter and pesto that they offer. I even took some home to munch on while driving home, since I wasn't able to eat my meal. The coffee was good! I could've eaten bread and coffee and been better off! They have indoor and outdoor seating but I suggest making reservations since the place gets booked pretty quickly. I seen alot of salads go by, perhaps I should've gotten that...I mean, you can't go wrong with that ... right? There's plenty of parking in the area since there's parking ramps across the Street which is probably the best and underground parking( which is hella dark). I won't say that I won't return but next time I'm going with a salad, bread and coffee. Our waiter was AWESOME and deserved a year off with pay.
People watching
Lunch at olive and ivy. Nice menu, very busy. You can order same food off menu and sit outside if you want. It was the type of restaurant that people from Scottsdale came to be seen. Some of the attire was very interesting. Many people came there to meet another person. People watching is definitely entertaining.
Great spot for early lunch.
Wife and I enjoyed a salad and the flat bread. Great cocktails and great service.
A Scottsdale Highlight
It seems to be a pattern in the Phoenix area that when one goes into a restaurant solo one is told that the only seating available for single diners is at the bar. If I had been given a table my review of Olive & Ivy would have been five-star. There was a good variety of dishes one the menu and I chose one of the vegetarian options. After a recent bad experience at a vegetarian restaurant, I was pleased that the bartender recommended their sweet potato cannelloni as am house specialty. It deserved to be: it was simply delicious. The cannelloni stuffed with something like a sweet potato pie filling, were surrounded by mushrooms, nuts and other veggies swimming in a rich butter sauce. I would like to get the recipe! There were a number of recognizably good wines on the wine list, at reasonable prices; I had an excellent albarino. Yes, pricing at Olive & Ivy is very user-friendly. No wonder the place tends to be full! Reservations recommended if you don't want to eat at the bar.
I've eaten here both for brunch and for dinner, I will tell
I've eaten here both for brunch and for dinner, I will tell you dinner was fine and it lived up to all of the expectations but Service was a little slow and it's location makes it difficult at times to get in.. Now for brunch, this place is excellent and has a wide variety of items that are a little more uniquely styled than your average breakfast place ... I thought the prices were comparable for brunch, which elevated this to a should try location
Wonderful presentations and excellent service.
Would make the effort to go again when in town
An Olive and Ivy Shout Out
Second time here, first was for dinner which was enjoyable, save for a very loud and rowdy party of eight seated nearby. My bride and I thoroughly enjoyed our late lunch/early dinner today. Our server JC was excellent, the perfect combination of professional and friendly. I would come back just to have him as my server again. We asked to be seated by the canal and were given a four table for two. My bride had the hummus and it was absolutely the best ever. JC told us the kick it has is jalapeno pepper. Best ever. I had the piccante flatbread and it was a very generous serving. We were there mid afternoon but I noticed they had many staff and servers and runners. Management obviously cares about service to employ so many folks at a slow time. Kudos to Olive and Ivy. You will always have my business and my gratitude.
Great food and nice setting
Very nice setting and terrific food and drink. Definitely plan ahead. We were in Scottsdale for 2 weeks and we had to settle for a 5.15 reservation 2 days before we left.
Hands down A MUST if visiting Scottsdale!
First time to Scottsdale and I have to say the food and drink scene is super vibrant. Every time I stepped into a new restaurant, I swore it was one of the best places I had eaten at, until I came here. Ok let’s start off with a shoutout to KJ; what a great server he is. KJ needs to have a class or write a book on how to be an over-the-top server, and people should attend or read. KJ, you are bomb. A few notes about this place: 1. Ambiance is really great. This place gives off a trendy vibe, but not too ‘to be seen’. I saw a mixture of couples, families, girl groups and guy groups. 2. The place is huge; there is an outdoor area that was not utilized due to rain. 3. Food is really good; can tell it’s quality ingredients and the flavors made perfect sense. I mean it was genius to have an eggs benedict over crab cakes (in lieu of the usual English muffin. 4. We had just one drink (espresso martini) but it was really good. Pretty sure the other drinks are just as good! 5. Their complementary focaccia and dipping sauce is soooo yummy. I mean I can eat that alone and not even order a meal. 6. We already covered service….KJ was awesome but even his partners were good. They cleared the tables fast and didn’t leave any dirty plates on the table, which is kinda a pet peeve of mine. Of the 10 restaurants we covered in 3.5 days, I’d say Olive & Ivy was my absolute favorite. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back one of these days.
Great dining spot!
We made our reservation well in advance which was good because this is a very popular spot. We got off to a slow start when no one visited our table to offer drinks for about 10mins. But once they realized this, a manager visited our table to take our drink order and our first round was on the house, which was nice customer service. The food was excellent and the atmosphere is really lovely. The patio looked lovely, so I’d sit out next time.
Atmosphere is really nice but food is just okay
Ambiance was great with nice evening lights and propane heaters. Also the decor was cool and modern. Portions of food are really good. For appetizers we ordered a trio of bruschetta and each one had a different topping such as butternut squash, prosciutto, and mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes; grilled pit with hummus; and shrimp and calamari. Appetizers were great! For dinner our group ordered rock shrimp tagliatelle, crispy Japanese sweet potato, original lasagna, cheeseburger, and another lasagna but this one came deconstructed. My husband and I asked to share the lasagna. We ordered it without the meat sauce and asked for more veggies and to split the order. It came out with noodles, tomato sauce and veggies but in a child size bowl for myself and my husband. Our son didn't finish all of his cheeseburger so my husband finished off his. The meat in the cheeseburger was really good quality but a little dry. Basically, the lasagna could have been done better. For dessert we ordered a butterscotch caramel cake. The cake was delicious. In the end, the pros are that the ambiance is nice and portions of food are large. Cons are that food was okay and service was really slow. Took us a little over 3 hours t finish our meal. They lost stars due to slow service.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it? |
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

How to list a Nobu Malibu reservation
Hi, I have a reservation to Nobu Malibu, but since they don't do text or e-mail confirmations I haven't been able to get my reservation posted. I have posted a screen shot of the phone conversation on the listing, but it keeps getting rejected. If anyone has an idea how I can get it approved that would be much appreciated, thanks!

I posted a request for a reservation this Thursday between 6:30 and 8 pm and initially the potential seller said it would be fulfilled by today. Now they changed it that they will only fulfill it by 5pm that same day. Basically I would have an hour and a half to get to the restaurant. Is this allowed?

This app is a catfish and overrun by people programming “bots” and algorithms. It makes it frustrating for someone not well versed in this to have any movement. I thought this would be a fun side hustle, but unfortunately it’s become like any other “side hustle”. Don’t waste your time with this crap. Not a question, just a suggestion. Also don’t pay these fake “gurus” hundreds of dollars to teach you. Might as well sign up for a software class. 😕
