Some stand out pieces made the experience worthwhile but at this price, a one time visit is fine I really enjoyed the squid ink foam one. A long time ago I went to another omakase with a piece similar to, with bubble/foam on top, and haven't really seen a piece like that in NYC since. When it came out I was pleasantly surprised and even more surprised to find out it is squid ink! Aside from this and a few more stand outs like the oyster, I felt that this is a good omakase but definitely not the best at $128 pp. Another one that's just kind of stingy about fish and rice, some pieces felt small. while we were filled up at 17 courses, I thought this could have easily been $98 or $108 pp instead and make a lot more sense.
Be the first to ReplyNot a great experience.
Our reservation for 1.5 hours somehow turned into 30 minutes. Considering the fact that we paid over $300 for dinner for two, I did not appreciate the feeling of being rushed at all. Additionally, I felt that it was deceitful how they only offered $8 bottled water without mentioning the free tap water. Unfortunately I was not thinking in the moment and accepted it. They charged my card an additional $20 than the bill stated and I had to wait days for a refund to the original amount. The food itself is fine. It is a more experimental type of omakase, which I enjoyed, but the other factors really took away from my experience. I've had way better omakase for less and won't be back.

Itamae DC made my experience a good one as this omakase dinner was one to remember with the unique and innovative courses that I have never had before. This was the first time I had potato chips on any of my omakase courses. Fish was fresh and exceptionally prepared. Atmosphere was different from other restaurants like this, but that is okay. Getting out of my comfort zone - that's our purpose of living, right? Itamae DC was down to earth and made conversation, which made me feel very welcomed during my dinner here. Prices are reasonable for experiences like this in the city.
Be the first to ReplyGreat omakase.
Fun/unique pieces. And head chef was very friendly and welcoming. Loved it.
Be the first to ReplyCame on a Friday and had a lovely time.
Seating was limited so I loved the intimate vibe. Standout pieces were definitely the stacked toro and the seared wagyu. I also loved how there were a couple of pieces with uni - I especially enjoyed it on top of the crab. Rice was a bit too cold and dry though.. maybe cause it was already later on in the night? But the fish was still solid and this spot is one of the better omakases I've been to.

Walking in didn't know what to expect, but It was my first omakase experience and it was delicious! Service was attentive. Chef handmade each dish with care. We really loved it!

This is now our favorite omakase joint in NYC! It was so innovative and played with different flavors and textures. Chef is Japanese and French trained and incorporated both into his sushi pieces. He smokes his salmon in house, uses fried leaves, and uses fresh imported fish from Japan. We got the 13 course but will definitely be back for the 17 course. We have been to fine omakase establishments across Asia but Omakase No Name truly deserves a Michelin star as they are on the caliber of these other omakase places. Not to mention that the price is highly reasonable for what you get.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious sushi.
Chef is awesome, makes all his own accompaniments for the sushi. Fish was very fresh as well. Service was also great. We did both the 13 and 17 course omakase. Wasabi beef powder and squid ink foam are some of the very unique things that pair well with their respective pieces. Intimate seating, counter holds 12 and there are a couple of tables. Keeps the noise down and comfortable. Just go here and eat their food. Stop reading this and just go.
Be the first to ReplyIt was mediocre overall.
Flavor was flat and their nigiri sushis were so small. Ambience was alright. Service was fine. Compared to other omakase places we have been that are similar in terms of price, this place falls short. I don't know why others are giving 4 or 5 stars. I wouldn't recommend.

The service is extremely friendly and personal, and the chefs are great and experienced. The taste is very to my liking.
Be the first to ReplyLove this place! Highly recommend.
My favorite courses were the first course (a bowl of three good sized pieces of monk fish liver - my favorite!), the second course (an amazing oyster topped with uni and roe), and the scallop. There were only one or two pieces I didn't love (like a tuna piece topped with black garlic) but overall, everything was fantastic. Loved that several pieces had uni - my second favorite! The sake and dessert (matcha panna cotta) were also great. I left surprisingly full, which is rare for me. Will definitely return!
Be the first to ReplyWe made reservations for 5 for Friday night at 5pm.
We were the first people there and the omakase was delicious. We went with the 17 pc for a little over $100 per person. It was well worth it and the staff was very prompt. My favorites were the Hokkaido scallop, squid ink foam, and toro. We ordered drinks as well and Tokyo white beer was my favorite! Highly recommend, they opened just a few weeks ago
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best omakase meals I've had in NYC in a while.
We did the 15 piece for $128 and were happily full at the end. The fish was incredibly fresh, the accouterments/toppings were very flavorful and complemented each piece of fish wonderfully, and the presentation was stunning. The chef was great, engaging and funny but not over the top. They don't have their liquor license yet so make sure you BYOB! My only comment to the restaurant: the music felt too much like spa music, a little too mellow. I would suggest something just a tad more upbeat :)
Be the first to ReplyThis place was an incredible experience! Good:- Got the $88
This place was an incredible experience! Good:- Got the $88 tasting menu - it was really a large amount of food and felt like enough.- Great service - super nice staff and felt like they loved what they were doing- it was fun watching the chefs cook right in front of us- Beautiful presentation - each dish was so tasty - Cute but simple vibes Bad:- Was still craving for more at the end! Overall a really good concept and the food was incredible.
Be the first to ReplyGreat space to enjoy a really good meal.
I had the Sushi omakase which featured the chefs choice of various cuts. I also enjoyed all pieces and hand roll. Chef David was amazing.
