Oro Bistrot Roma Reviews
Again tik tok trap as very expensive but lovely views
A lovely place with a view but that is all, drinks €25 per cocktail and €13 for a beer. Seagulls are a pain to. Staff friendly and attentive and as a one of was nice to do but nothing that special for the price.
Nice view
Nice place to have a romantic date with a nice view , its a fine dining place with nice flavours and nice atmosphere. Just be careful abot the birds specially seagulls they are flying all over you and jump on ur table and eat ur food. Also a very good variety of wine 🍷
A gem in the middle of Rome
Great atmosphere, beautiful place with stunning view. Cocktails are a bit pricey but worth the price and you get small snacks too. Highly recommended.
Disappointed
Average at best. Arrived for our reservation, was asked our name. Sat in the bar section, once ordered I enquired about our dinner reservation, we were then moved to the dining side. No apology even though it was obviously a mistake. By this time the “better view” tables were taken up. We had informed beforehand that we were celebrating a special anniversary, one staff member greeted us with this, no mention after. Food was ok, tasty, but not worth the price tag. Staff were all plesant, but it wasn’t a comfortable, welcoming vibe. I wouldn’t say I hated this place, but ai didn’t enjoy it either- which for the price you pay is a bit disappointing. We ate out in Trastevere the night after, and both commented how we much preferred the experience of being sat in a busy side street restaurant than this rooftop establishment who have obviously become popular due to this and the “instragam” age
Don’t fall for the tiktok trap
To put simply: overpriced, overhyped, tasteless, stale tortillas, mediocre view. I went here looking for unbeatable views and delicious food, but Oro Bistro was lacking in both departments. I got better views on my walk to the restaurant, near Capitoline Hill, and the food had no flavor, was very expensive for small portions, and the tortilla chips they served me were inedible and stale.
Beautiful views and very nice, accommodating staff :)
Great spot with very friendly and helpful staff + shoutout to Alex who was super accommodating. Also the guy at the the door and the lady behind the stand upstairs who helped us navigate the booking, did not catch their names unfortunately. Thank you to all very the lovely experience! :)
Stunning view and wonderful ambience
My husband and I had this on our list to go but weren't sure if they'd accept us without a reservation (we were unsure what our schedule would be so didn't book), however, they welcomed us at 8.30pm straight away. The view over the Monument to Victor Emmanuel II is amazing and there is an inside area or outside, depending on the weather. We got some great small plates and a bottle of Prosecco, the cocktails were amazing too. The service was efficient and the staff were very polite and friendly, it was just such a wonderful night. I definitely recommend checking this place out, either for dinner, or I'm sure the views are just as fantastic in the daytime too!
AVOID ALL COSTS
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH SERVICE. Waiters are rude! Food and drink late! Toilets are dirty. There is only view on the few table other than that no view. Dont waste your time and money!!!
Book in advance!
We arrived without booking but there was no spot available. We wanted to go there so bad that we went back after one hour and the door man managed to get us in. I recommend booking in advance as this place is quite popular. The service, the drinks, the snacks and the amazing view made it to a perfect romantic evening. I tried a few rooftops in Rome and this was by far my favorite! Would definitely come back in the future :-)
Highly recommend
My boyfriend and I visited in the afternoon and watched the sunset on the rooftop. Although the drinks were expensive, we got free snacks for the table (nuts, crisps, olives) and the staff were very good. There are heat lamps and blankets for when it gets cold too.
Terrible
I booed a table for my girlfriend 40th birthday for an evening meal on the roof terrace. When we arrived we were told we had to have food in the downstairs restaurant as the roof terrace is mainly for warmer months. The whole experience was terrible. First of all the food was taste less and completely over priced. The beef cheek we ordered we were told by the waiter would melt in our mouth as it’s been slow cooked for ages! When it arrived it was so tough it almost broke our knife trying to cut through it. Not to mention the fat running through was like jelly! Obviously the chef has no idea how to slow cook! The waitress that served us asked whose bday it was not sure why she even bothered as no candles were brought over nothing to make it special when you are paying over 200 euros. The couple sitting opposite us were in the same boat. I clearly made sure the restaurant was aware it was a special occasion at the time of booking. Eventually we were told we can go to the roof terrace for cocktails. When we got to the terrace it was full and pretty much everyone was having food! Complete lies from start to finish. If you do go only go to the terrace for the beautiful views.
expected much more
As many places in Rome... great view, low quality, waiters pushing you to order fast. As soon as you have finished your drink they are asking you if you want other or the bill... We only went for an aperitivo. It could be so much more.. But is this typical roman picture place.
Breaktaking
It was spectacular. Great staff, great cocktails, great views. Private but still has a vibe. Loved it. Table bookings for a maximum of 2 hours.
Rome Birthday Celebration
Absolutely stunning evening. Cocktails before dinner with probably one of the best views in Rome. Meal was excellent and Daniel and the other waiter (apologies but missed his name) were superb. Birthday surprise for my partner was excellent and unexpected. Drinks on terrace to end the evening. What a blast. Thank you Oro.
Over rated
Over rated, overprice for the experience we received. We booked in advance to have a table, when getting there we were given one of the tables with no view (right behind the dome) disappointing as there were many other tables which offered a better view. We waited over 15 minutes to order our drinks which I had to get the attention of a waiter. During this time others were being served who had sat down after us. I asked a waiter if we could move tables to a better view and he said his colleague (the lady managing the front of house) said no. 5 minutes later another couple who arrived after us asked if they could move and this was allowed. We booked the place for the expectation of a view of Rome during sunset hours but the service and experience we received really wasn’t worth the premium price. The drinks and canapés were lovely but massively let down by the service and the unfriendly staff (especially the front of house who didn’t crack a smile) We left shortly after finishing our drinks and went and watched the sun set elsewhere! Picture below was my view

Each posting on AppointmentTrader shows you which user submitted it and along with that provides a trackrecord of that user which indicates how much experience

If there is no user posting that fits your schedule, you can bid on your preferred time.
Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Oro Bistrot Roma at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Oro Bistrot Roma page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* ImmortalStep65, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* ImmortalStep65 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to ImmortalStep65 for any questions Peter may have as ImmortalStep65 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* ImmortalStep65 now uses their connections at Oro Bistrot Roma to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If ImmortalStep65 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, ImmortalStep65 receives the $200 reward which is credited to ImmortalStep65's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Oro Bistrot Roma!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
