Delicious Thai food
Delicious Thai food at really good prices. Staff were very attentive. Delicious cocktails and excellent range of food and drink.

We enjoyed a lovely meal together and were impressed with the staff. We walked in and given a table. After ordering the waitress asked if we would like to move to a better table which had become available. We enjoyed a fantastic meal, plenty of vegan options, which was reasonably priced. Throughout the meal the staff were attentive and lovely - one of the best teams so have seen in a while.

Hi and thanks for having us at paste we were very happy with the service and taken to our seats straight away as we didn’t book before so it was a walk in . No problems at all served fast and the food was great , the Thai green curry was plentiful and quite spicy too which I really liked , it was served hot and came out pretty quick we really enjoyed our food . I would definitely return and try out other foods . We did have a starter come out with the mains and they were the spring rolls with sweet chilli dip they were really nice too
Be the first to ReplyNON-AUTHENTIC THAI FOOD
As you will see from my photo, this is not Pad krapow moo sap kai dow. I've been married to a Thai for the last 14 years. I've visited Thailand many times and never in my experience have I ever been served a meal like this. Pad krapow does not have big chunks of onion, courgette and green/red bell peppers in it. This was served in a bowl full of gravy with what looked more like chicken, not pork and also looked under cooked. I asked for extra spicy and also some prik nam pla. Basmati rice, not Thai Hom Mali (Jasmine). There was no spiciness to it, it was bland. I also ordered this in Thai so that they knew I liked extra spicy. The starter of Tod mun pla was soggy and greasy. Shame on you trying to serve me food like this when I am well aware what true authentic Thai food is. I found this experience an insult. I said nothing to the staff as I am aware of the losing face situation and respected that. I will never return to this establishment and I will spread the word around those that I know. Both Thai & Farang.

Very average food. Oily, over cooked, uni taste food. If this is authentic I'll.take Thailand off my visit list. Over cooked everything. Monosodium Sauces and masses of.uncooked.peppers.

We were seated immediately by friendly staff, our order was placed and brought out to us promptly. The meals were delicious. Can’t recommend enough!

Visited Paste with friends whilst on a weekend away in Nottingham. It was nice and straightforward to book a table and the restaurant is in a good central location. The food comes out quickly but in terms of taste/ flavour it’s very average. I had the thai green curry which was described as ‘hot’ in terms of spice level, but it really wasn’t and was actually quite bland. ‘Thai style chips’ were also not what I had expected, they were just some chips with what could be compared to peri salt sprinkled on top. The service was fine and the restaurant itself was nice and clean. Just the food that is a bit underwhelming.

Really central and a lovely independent restaurant with authentic Thai dishes, beautifully cooked and presented. Venture beyond all the chains, you will not regret it.

I ate here with friends for the first time recently, before a gig. Nice dining room, efficient and friendly service and the food was great.
Be the first to ReplyMade to tip for extremely poor/bad service
Went for lunch and were the first to be seated. Around 10 minutes later other diners came, communicating in their first language with staff. We were sat waiting to order, no one came back. A young man came to ask if we wanted drinks, we said no and wanted to order food. He just left and didn't take our order as it wasn't his job. Sat there watching staff standing at the juice bar. Then the two diners who arrived after 10 minutes after is were served their food. All still while our order wasn't taken. We were contemplating leaving. A lady sent food back and new food was prepared before our order was even taken. The second time I've been to paste and I felt discriminated against on this occasion. People of the same nationality were served first. One diner finished their meal and we hadn't even had our order. I won't be going back. Shame the foods nice. Cheeky they included a tip on the bill, when we had extremely poor and bad service.

Took my family visiting from Birmingham to one of our favourite restaurants in Nottingham City. We can honestly say, we have never had a problem with food or service. Staff are always so good and the food is so authentic. I feel the food is more Vietnamese than Thai. Highly recommend this place if you are in the centre of Nottingham.

Visited this little gem 12/04/2022. Great food, beautiful restaurant and amazing service!!!
Even has a little bubble tea cafe attached!
Definitely worth a visit:)
Amazing food and attentive staff!
Just had the most amazing meal here! Loved the botanical garden, food was just incredible, plenty of it and delicious. The staff were on point, so attentive, would recommend 100%! Definately worth a visit and if in the area again will absolutely be back. Thank you for a great evening.

Enjoyed an impromptu Thai meal here with friends, very friendly service in classic Thai style, good very fresh and tasty. Would recommend the cocktails! Only disappointment was that some menu items were unavailable...

We visited Paste as a family of 4. The food was lovely with a lot of choice. The dishes were very tasty and great portions. The staff were friendly and service was very good. We visited after family recommended it. Very nice.
Be the first to ReplyNot Vegetarian Friendly
We have being going to Paste for years and always enjoyed the food.
HOWEVER, when going to order from Deliveroo today we discovered that the majority of meals in the 'vegetarian' section contain crustaceons, making them not vegetarian.
We are absolutely mortified that for years we have been served food made with animals when ordering from the vegetarian section of the menu.
When ordering through their website it doesn't tell you this, and it doesn't state it in the ingredients on their menu either.
Paste either need to update thier menu to take these meals out of the veggie section or stop using animals to make these meals .
Food should not be advertised as vegetarian when made with animals.
Save some money and order from your local takeaway, it will probably taste better!
Ordered a takeaway of mixed starter for two (£18), crispy aubergines with rice and 'authentic' Thai noodle dish with king prawns in a yellow bean sauce. Total cost £42.
Mixed starter - 14 small pieces in total including prawn toast, spring roll, meat skewers and a couple of different bite sized rolls. For almost the price of two main course dishes, this is completely overpriced.
Crispy aubergine - rice was bland and dry. Aubergines were battered, had no flavour or seasoning and just oozed grease into my mouth when eating them. Unpalatable.
Thai noodle dish - noodles were awful - greasy, overcooked and stuck together in one big clump (see picture). Yellow bean sauce element was basically a runny gravy consistency that honestly tasted like roast beef monster munch. Vegetables had no flavour other than the water they must have been boiled in.
Utterly overpriced food. It is touted as authentic Thai food but it is far from it. Save some money and order from your local takeaway, your life will be richer for it.
Don't bother
Was so looking forward to this meal, it was recommended it was cold, noodles were stuck together and crispy, taste was bland, the yellow bean sauce tasted like gravy £42 wasted and ruined our evening, I can cook better thai myself. no seasoning on the crispy aubergine really greasy . really do not advise getting take out from here . hopefully the restaurant quality is better.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service and authentic Thai cuisine
Genuine authentic Thai cuisine.
Helpful attentive staff, very helpful with choices despite being a very busy Friday night.
Went as a group of two couples. Had a mixture of set menu and separate items, all dishes were fabulous, will definitely go back
Stunning meal - best Thai food yet
My son and his partner took me here and the menu was so extensive, we opted for the mixed plattter as a starter and the set meal. We couldn't have done any better.
That platter was spectacular - hopefully a photo attached.
The set meal was also excellent and heaps of food - and enough left over to feed two of us two night's later and we both eat very well.
The only downside was that they didn't serve cider - which is most unusual for any British eatery.
When back in Nottingham, that will be a must visit.
Just Wow! Best Thai we've had in the UK!
My partner and I came this evening for the first time and generally couldn't find a bad word to say if we tried!
The customer service was fantastic; all staff were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and really seemed to care that we enjoyed our visit which was lovely.
As for the food... just wow! We have both visited Thailand, and as our favourite cuisine, have been to numerous Thai restaurants in the UK but this one beats them all. My partner had his favourite, panang curry, and I had the Thai pork with chilli and basil and both were incredible! We also had the mixed starters to start which were really tasty, especially the pork skewers.
To top it off, we also had a cocktail each which are so reasonably priced at just £6.50 each, and they were better than any we have had anywhere for a long time, which we definitely weren't expecting from a Thai restaurant!
To summarise, if you are thinking of going here, stop thinking and start booking as you won't regret it! We will definitely be booking again soon!
