Sadly the worst meal we've had in Rome.
This place came highly recommended by our hotel concierge. We've visited many Michelin star restaurants and have always been blown away. We love going to at least one in every city we visit. I'll start with the good. The service is impeccable. They have got it down to an art of being attentive just enough but not hovering. The ambiance is clean and peaceful. The local red wine was the best I've tasted in Rome! So bravo! The food. Was bad to terrible. It's like they are trying so hard to come up with all these unique ideas but they forgot to taste test the food. The only thing we thought was decent was the pickled radish and the ice cream from the 081 desert trio. Their vegan ceviche was melon balls in tomato juice. Not terrible just weird and not actually good. We ordered the beef tartar and it was just ok. Bland without the mayo. The mussels dish was cold and slimy. The chicken potatoes looked like a slug in a plate. Not appetizing. The green pasta with broccoli was hardly edible. I'm curious if the chef tastes his food? The famous carbonara was maybe 4/10. The pasta was harder then Al dente. The sauce was good but the bacon made it too rich. How it won a Michelin has me scratching my head. The main dish with radish and beef bread was bizarre and bitter. The beef bread made it edible. The desert trio... ice cream and foam was delicious, the chocolate cake was a dry brick, forgot what the last one was. I would avoid this place. I'm wondering if it was recommended because it was the only Michelin that had same day reservations? The place was empty but that makes sense given the food. What a pity. It's hard to write this type of review but it is what it is.

With all due respect, we were grateful to have been assisted making a reservation here. Unfortunately, the day was turned around out of our control and when we called to ask about moving our reservation bc there was no way we would make it there I was proceeded to be yelled at by the owner. I was nothing but apologetic and polite and just listened to his yelling at me, but on the inside I feel more sorry for his health and blood pressure if this is how he treats guests. It was a recommendation by a local but I would hands down go back to cacio e pepe over this place any day.

Amazing Michelin star restaurant worthy of its title!Pipero's auspiciously designed plates were far better than some other Michelin star restaurants I've been to. I even venture to say that they near two stars! We each ordered the Carte Blanche (โฌ140; tasting menu) - it was well worth its price! It trailed along as followed:- a delightful assortment of crackers and appetizers * (I loved the pickled radish - perfumed with wine flavor!)- potato soup ** (so creamy, fumy, and gentle)- Beef Tartare, almonds and sorrel (โฌ32) **- octopus, other seafood combination (I am fairly new to enjoying seafood and usually don't take well to it... I was nervous with every bite, but it was very tasteful and had so many textures! It also did not reek nor have a greasy flavor at all.)- Pecar de Corza (mussels)- homemade pasta ** (This pasta was perfection!!!)- Pasta Carbonara (โฌ32)- "The Fried" Catch of the Day with Ginger (โฌ45) **- Vanilla, Peach and White Wine (dessert on a glass) *- Almond, Lychee and Rose (โฌ20) ***- chocolate assortmentsLeft Pipero satisfied and with our bellies full!Thankful for this amazing experience!

We choose the a la carte menu starting with the beef tartare, pasta carbonara. Both were very good. Also good was the and the fried catch of the day mixed salad and the beef, cabbage and juniper. The brioche and majolica of Sorrento desserts were very good as were the numerous amuse bouche dishes. Service was excellent and the setting is lovely. The experience was all very good.

First let me say that we met mr pipero, very nice guy. He seems to truly care about his restaurant, and we wish him success. The dinner was not only delicious, but it was interesting. There was a variety of flavors, textures and each dish was a little surprising, in a good way. There was also several kind of breads. We love bread. The round loaf had that crunch exterior that when you bite into it, you can hear the crunch from ten feet away. I wish i knew how to make bread like that.We will come back again when in rome. You shouldnt hesitate to try it. Also, you will leave very full so i would skip lunch if youre coming.
Be the first to ReplyAn amazing experience from start to finish.
Every member of the staff from the host to the servers to the manager were fabulous and accommodating. We had a reservation for opening time (7pm) because we had been traveling and then exploring all day. After debating between the tasting menu and a la carte, we decided to select our own dishes and requested the team to pick a wine that would pair well. Our meal started with two amuse-bouche and bread service. The mozzarella-filled puffs and the chickpea mushroom soup were very tasty. We then moved on to the mozzarella with "surprise" and the surprise was a delightful gazpacho. Next came the pastas. . . Words cannot describe how incredibly good these were. The carbonara made me swoon and the ragout tortellini was artfully presented in addition to mouthwatering. Lastly we enjoyed a beautifully cooked lamb dish with a tomato-based sauce. By the time we had consumed our final bites we could barely keep our eyes open as it was our first day in a new time zone. We skipped the desert and the staff kindly called a cab for us.If you ever find yourself in Rome, make sure you get to Pipero!

My husband and I dined here a couple of weeks ago for an upscale dinner in Rome. We were absolutely delighted. The space is stylish and modern; the food is delicious, whimsical, innovative, yet still holds on to Italian traditions; the staff is extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and gracious. We ordered the tasting menu with wine pairings and were highly satisfied with every course. Some of the highlights included the Mozzarella Surprise, a velvety pasta course, and all of the incredible desserts. Truly a beautiful night at a beautiful restaurant. Go!
Be the first to ReplyWow! Now I know why Pipero is a Michelin star restaurant.
Rome is the capital of amazing delicious food, but I can assure you that Pipero is not like any restaurant in the city. They serve you a five star experience and service that you can't find anywhere else. Pipero is the type of restaurant where you go to have a 5 or 6 course meal. All of their dishes are perfectly executed and are little pieces of art. Obviously their is a price to pay for this, but is well worth it!I wish I remember all the names of the dishes that I had, but I am just going to mention the highlights of my dinner. To start I order the "mozzarella with a surprise" (or something like that), it was a ball of mozzarella cheese that after finishing it, all the juices from the cheese would drop into a puree that was magical. It is pretty hard to imagine, I know! Just order it hahaha. I don't know what the puree had in it, because it was a "surprise", but it was MAGIC!My favorite meal of the night was obviously their carbonara. They claim to have the best carbonara in the city, and I am 100% behind them. During my trip, I must have had at least 8 different Carbonaras and Pipero's was the BEST! The sauce, the pancetta and the pecorino...all came together in the most magical way! I am getting hungry just thinking about it. If you are looking for a place to treat yourself for a night and have a full dinner experience this is your spot!

Excellent attention to detail and hospitality by Allesandro and Achille. ย We did the six course tasting menu with wine pairing. ย Lots of creativity throughout the courses and was a great way to spend my birthday evening while in Rome. ย There were many "extras" along the way with frequent check-ins by Allesandro and his staff, ensuring our every need was met. ย If you're looking for greatness while in Rome, just head here, sit back, and enjoy. ย Although fine dining, the environment was comfortable and welcomed (well-behaved) children. ย Go for it.
Be the first to ReplyThe service is very good, the ambiance as well.
I think the menu could be a bit less expensive. Paying โฌ45 for 50 or so grams of pork neck is really outrageous. The pasta is good but not memorable.

I gave 5 stars for the service and the food, both were excellent. I had my own personal waiter and he was very cute and eager to please. The menu could be a bit cheaper but I guess it keeps the dining crowd to minimum. Def not a place for Jean shorts and flip flops. Pipero Roma 1230 pm, Lunch is served, ring the bell They do also list the food allergies in accordance with Eu regulations Atmosphere may seem stuffy but the owner , Alex Pipero, (not the chef)tries to convey a relaxed environment. The house music is classical but they could play some Sade or Enya. lunch is served on French dinnerware called Bernardaud and Pordamsa cutlery A complimentary appetizer was offered : a water filed thick glassed plate topped with Shrimp and a lemon caper powder / seafood tasting crackers / hot sourdough bread with Sicilian olive oil Sparkling Water I had was Aqua Nepi it was not strong like Pellegrino but actually much more smoother. Do not eat the Spaghetti with red shrimp and onion and lime , too fishy and not tasty at all! THE CARBONARA is highly recommended , made with egg yolk and the fatty part of the cheeks from the pig and pepper , it is what I ended with after all. I was offered a pre dessert of a chocolate mousse base with crumble topped with fresh peaches.Black cherry chocolate and hazelnut for dessert tasted amazing and definitely worth trying regardless of the 20โฌ price tag. Not sure if I would ever return but would def recommend for a 1 time experience.

Awesome awesome awesome! We had the chef's tasting menu and it was exceptional. We actually thought of coming back to Rome in the future just to go to this restaurant! It is that good. We were treated exceptional which is pretty rare for the restaurants that we've been to previously in Rome. The desserts were my favorite, but everything else was just as good. ย You must make a reservation ahead of time to get in. ย Pricey but worth it. It made for a wonderful memory.

Such a nice restaurant! We were recommended by a friend to come try this out. Upon arriving, we quickly realized that we felt underdressed (there's a very formal atmosphere), but the waiters were kind and welcomed us in anyways.Because it was our first visit, they offered us champagne on the house, with compliments from the owner. In fact, the owner himself came to greet us as first-timers. He asked us if we had any preferences or certain foods we didn't like, and said he would provide us with dishes based off of what we told him.It was very interesting, and fun! The first restaurant I've been to where I don't need to order off of a menu, and the chef just gives us whatever he feels like making. We were served with a multi-course meal that was well thought out. Every dish was delicious, and the presentation was just amazing!Low-key, one of the plates had water inside it. I found myself playing with the plate long after finishing my food LOL.The service is great. They are constantly making sure your water is filled, and your bread tray is never empty. (Their bread is homemade btw, delicious af)Overall a great experience. My wallet may be crying, but my stomach is having the time of its life.
