Great food and atmosphere! Love the high ceilings and the giant fireplace. Did not love the fact that we were seated closest to the front door. So every time the door opened and closed, cold air would blow onto our table. It definitely detracted from the experience substantially. We asked to be moved and the restaurant was not able to accommodate. We did the 5 course tasting menu for $160 pp. My first 3 courses were amazing - absolutely loved the abalone with flowering wasabi and spring pea panna cotta. Was disappointed in the 21 day aged rib eye with $25 supplement. It didn't come out very hot, so I could already see the fat marbling cooling. It was a bit chewier than I would have preferred for medium rare.

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at PRESS, and it was one of the most exceptional meals we've ever had. We ordered the tasting menu with the beverage pairing, and each and every course was thoughtful, delicious, and perfectly paired. Our waiter was not only attentive, but hilarious, and we also had the pleasure of meeting the manager, JC, who cared deeply about our experience. Knowing that we had just completed a wine certification course we'd been studying for for about six months, JC surprised us with a complimentary champagne for me and a cocktail for my husband so we could take a moment to celebrate before beginning our meal. The meal itself was exceptional. 9 courses, with so many standouts. To name a few, we loved the canapés, the salmon skin with caviar, the celery root soup, and the most delicious ricotta gnudi with white truffles, and of course, the scallop / lobster course. (The lobster is the optional add-on to the scallop course, so I ordered that so we could each try both.) We also had the absolute pleasure of meeting Christopher, our Sommelier, who walked us through each pairing and indulged even the nerdiest of our wine questions. One of our great delights in this pairing was the sake course, and we were also very pleasantly surprised with a beer pairing. This pairing is a refreshing and creative take on a traditional wine pairing, and it absolutely elevated our meal. PRESS is a beautiful space, and turned out to be the perfect place for us to celebrate a milestone in our ongoing wine education journey. Gorgeous meal. Incredible staff. Heartfelt thank you to JC, to our waiter, to Christopher the talented Somm and to the entire staff for a meal we won't forget. We'll be back as soon as we can get up to Napa again soon.

Came in without reservation was welcomed with a smile and seat by the bar. Had the tasting menu food was spectacular. Made reservations to come back can't wait!

Came with a group of wine enthusiats and we were really looking forward to a good experience. The best part was the place - beautifully set and ambiance was great especially for a Wednesday night. The worst was the service- far from a Michelin experience and outright unprofessional. Took them a while to take our wine order and our bottles arrived completely out of sync with food. We didn't have our first glass of white until our second course. Food was rushed and courses came out too quickly one following the other. We didn't even finish half our wine when dessert was served. Two of us have ciliac disease and our waiter wrote that down in his notebook when we ordered. But when my beef tartar dish came it had wheat puffs with it that I'm glad I questioned because I'd have been very sick if I ate them. The food itself was underwhelming. Wine was way overpriced and it was difficult to find bottles below $1000. I've dined at many Michelin starred restaurants and this is as disappointed as I've ever been.
Be the first to ReplyThis meal was impeccable.
Service was perfect. Great Somm. Food was very delicately prepared and it was all about the flavors. My fave was the beef tartare. The others at the table loved the gnudi with truffles. We preferred the 4 course tasting because it gave you time to experience the dishes.

I've been wanting to stop here for sometime now anytime I'm in town, and I've finally managed to do just that with a little time to spare before my reservations at a nearby winery. I walked in with no reservations but they happily offered me a seat at the bar. I was able to try a few drinks recommended by the bartender but the Up River was by far my favorite, perfectly sweet and Smokey. Before stopping by I would say that I was very eager to try the pig ears that everyone raves about but I felt like it was cold and very underwhelming. Not a complete fan of the food I tried, maybe I came in with super high expectations as we sometimes do when dinning at a Michelin-Starred restaurant or my choices tonight just weren't the best but I did enjoy the ambiance and the drinks. Can't wait to come back and fall in love with a food item. Oh and let's not forget the playlist this night...*chefs kiss* I did not want to leave.

My first time to dine at Press last night, and everything was superb! And by everything, I mean the atmosphere, the knowledgeable staff, and the divine food. My favorite dish of the night was the duck, it was cooked to perfection, melted in your mouth with the best red wine reduction I've ever had in my life. Thank you for hosting us Chef Philip and Press staff. You truly are an example of the best Napa Valley has to offer!!!
Be the first to ReplyAn absolute gem in Napa Valley.
PRESS offers fantastic service, incredible food, and delicious cocktails. Their bartender Jared went above and beyond to curate special cocktails to pair with our dinner, and their manager JC was embodied hospitality and made sure our evening went perfectly. With a town full of Michelin restaurants and fine dining establishments, this location is unparalleled in its experience. Thank you for a fantastic night, and I truly look forward to coming back again soon.

Absolutely amazing worth the hype every review and it's Michelin Star rating! Every bite full of flavor. The pre fix 4 course share plates is the way to go. This is a must visit!
Be the first to ReplyThis is a solid fine-dining spot that hits all the right
This is a solid fine-dining spot that hits all the right notes you'd expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant in Northern California wine country. I had the tasting menu, which had some outstanding dishes (the fruits de mer and the cod). Yet I left feeling indifferent. Nothing was wrong - it's a really good restaurant. But nothing felt memorable. I enjoyed the meal, but it wasn't a destination. It all feels great in the moment, but it just doesn't last. Service is actually very good, and the building itself is beautiful. And I wish I'd ordered from the regular menu - too much of the tasting menu was just fine.

Exquisite ambiance and food worth savoring. The risotto and pretzels were amazing.

Be the first to ReplyAmazing food, excellent team with outstanding service.
The wine selection is offers and wide range of wines for every budget and wine preference. Yes, it is pricey, but it is Napa. Spend that money and enjoy the experience. The outdoor seating area is a bit more relaxing especially on a beautiful day. There's really nothing bad to say about PRESS, their culinary masterfulness, their top-notch service and award-winning wine selection. Good luck getting that one EV charger outside. Congratulations PRESS!

The food presentation and taste was awesome. The selection of wine at this restaurant is amazing. It's got all the best of Napa as well as the French wines. Definitely worth a try if you're coming out to Napa. Its great for events, as well as for private dinners. The service and the ambience was outstanding. I'm looking forward to coming back next time. I am in Napa.

Expected this to be an amazing experience and was sadly let down. We had to wait 20 minutes after our reservation time. The service was not good as he seemed unhappy and wasn't attentive or helpful. The the food was just okay not at all what I expected for the price and the hype. Definitely not what I expected for having a Michelin star. The ambiance was fine, it's a cool spot. But would not go out of my way to return.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, dessert was amazing.
A few of the employees walking by didn't acknowledge us when we tried flagging them down but other than that, the experience was nice.

OH. MY LAWD. This place is sensational My husband and I seek out tasting menus near and far and we were stoked to get a reservation on Valentine's Day while in Napa for my husband's birthday. I'll be honest in saying that for a split second, I wondered if we were going to leave there hungry. I can assure you this absolutely was NOT the case. The menu was a 1-off for V-Day, we upgraded to the truffle option and we did the wine pairing. The service was perfect, the sommeliers were professional, knowledgeable and engaging, the pairings were ON POINT, the cocktails were impressive and we left on cloud 9. I would go back here again and again... and again. STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!!

Honestly I went here because of the Michelin star they just got recently and see if this restaurant is any good . This review is how to improve I feel like the menu they provide doesn't really put what they serve. I had the cod and the desert. Cod is very good! However this review is for desert. I had the mandarin paklova. No way in their menu it has ginger in the desert . I told my server I don't like ginger in the beginning but still had me order paklova knowing there's ginger in there . This restaurant is suppose to be a Michelin star and was expecting that but unfortunately didn't feel like it . We left after 45 min . Is it memorable no . Will I come back maybe.

Far too expensive for what you receive! Service was more than needed as we felt like the staff was hovering over us.$71 for 3 ounces of New York strip steak (ala cart) was crazy! Flavor of the steam was good, but not worth the price. We brought our own wine (2017 Silver Oak) and they charged us $40 corking fee.... Unacceptable!Well, live and learn as we won't be back...
Be the first to ReplyThis is the only Michelin restaurant that we had to wait
This is the only Michelin restaurant that we had to wait for more than 20 mins after our booking time on the Thursday night. Now for the Food:We ordered the chef's tasting menu, they gave us a free pretzel for our wait and waived our corkage fee which was a nice gesture.Overall the service was excellent ; however, the food was not a Michelin star worthy. The free pretzel and first four courses of our seven courses meal was just average at best. The best course were the black Cod, the Wagyu beef and dessert , those three were Michelin level courses. So I recommend you order from A-La-Carte menu instead of chef's tasting menu.Save you some money and disappointment!!!
Be the first to ReplyNot sure what the hype is about.
Food is good, not exceptional, we did not get the prefix menu, maybe thats why we weren't impressed? Not sure. $195 for prefix isnt too bad, but the wine pairing would add $150, which I think is hefty. Our waitress was 10/10, amazing person and super nice. But for example, we were celebrating our anniversary, and that was not taken into consideration at any point which is very unusual to any michelin star or any decent place really.Ambiance is modern, vibe is casual. No dress code really. Which can be a good and a bad thing.Overall, i gave the 2 stars. And both for our amazing server. Def wont go back and would not recommend it.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing meal from start to finish.
We did the tasting menu - it was a bit drawn out but possibly due to busyness. Took 2.5 hours. Highlights were the caviar, gnudi, and the wagyu. Would highly recommend. Michelin star deserved. Atmosphere was modern, lively, and overall enjoyable.
Be the first to ReplyIt was meh.
Came here for my husbands birthday, which was never acknowledged. Server was fine, nothing special. Not very engaged. He could have easily said - where are you from? Are you visiting from out of town? Are you celebrating anything, etc. Some super wealthy people were sitting next to us and the som and manager spent most of the evening talking to them and giving them endless wine and attention. The food was ok, not great for the price. The octopus was chewy and smelled fishy....not the best we have had. The cod lacked flavor, the $72 steak had great flavor but was a bit chewy. The best part of the night was the 2003 wine we brought ourselves (which by the way, would have been $675 on the menu - 3xs what we paid at the winery).
Be the first to ReplyOver the top.
Celebrating my birthday and happy to be there. Just sitting down to the tasting menu we knew we were in for a treat. Who doesn't love caviar. The tuna tartare so lovely. Squash soup matched so well with the wine served. For us one of the best dishes served was the black truffle risotto. The ricotta gnudi lovely. The wagyu was so amazing and I was taken aback that I missed taking a picture.Deserts were so lovely a great way to end the night. Do the wine pairing you won't be disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyCute little spot for food.
It use to be a steakhouse but they newly renovated the menu to offer more variety. Star dish: the squash blossom ricotta dumpling. That was amazing! Overall: wonderful service! But the food was just ok. I can see that they were trying to be very creative but some flavors did not mesh well for me. Like the cheesecake which was too salty for my liking and it was paired with honeydew sorbet and the matcha topping. It created a unique flavor that needed some acquired taste.
