What an absolutely fantastic dinner! Made reservations for a Friday night. We were seated promptly and the service was amazing from the get go. We started with a round of cocktails and decided to order from the a la carte menu instead of the tasting menu this time. We just liked the options better. The drinks were creative and flavorful. The presentation was mediocre though. The mix of flavors and textures in all the dishes was an art form. Not usually a fan of beets, but the dip was surprisingly tasty. The tempura elotes were crunchy, crispy and presented beautifully. The sweet potato chaat was my least favorite item. For a tapa that has sweet potato in the name, we could barely taste the sweet potato. The dish also might have sat in the kitchen for a few because the puffed rice was a little soggy under the yogurt. The seared scallops were arguably the best item. The broth was flavorful but subtle and I'll be craving it forever. The scallops were perfectly cooked as well and the green mango salsa on top added the perfect tartness. The steak was unfortunately pretty standard. It lacked the flavors described in the menu but it was cooked as requested. Probably wouldn't order this one again only because of the other choices. The paneer tikka was exquisite! The flavors in the marination mixed with the sauce underneath made it one of our top favorite dishes. It was also grilled perfectly so the edges were charred and the inside was still soft and creamy. We ended the meal with the mandarin mochi chocolate cake. This was a miss for me. The cake was a bit dry and very dense and the mandarin black sesame mocha was mainly orange sherbet with a whipped topping. Now normally we love black sesame flavor but it was too overpowering even with the mandarin flavor. Just didn't balance out. Overall; between the service and the food it was such a fantastic experience and I cannot wait to go back!
