Good food
Visited this traditional restaurant last night and opted for the buffet menu. The food was exceptional, in particular we enjoyed the duck, garlic prawns, squid & noodles. The staff were very friendly & efficient. If you want good no nonsence chinese food this is the place to go and I can't wait to go back

Apprehensive due to a couple of the recent reviews! So glad we tried it for ourselves though. Food was lovely, staff fantastic and really enjoyed the evening!! Thank you.

Have been here a few times. Usually ok. But last visit was truly awful. The food was totally inedible. We ordered chicken and cashew and crispy duck. Chicken was bland and greasy, the duck was undercooked, flabby, and tasteless. So disappointing. And even though we had hardly touched either dish, they had zero interest in finding out why.

I could never find a decent Chinese near to me and found this gem. The food is delicious and service is quick and efficient.
Be the first to ReplyA nice all you can eat
We paid approximately £25 each for an all you can eat menu. You get a checklist and basically tick off items which are split into courses. The portions are small so don't worry if you think you're going to get served main-sized portions. Beware though that unfinished dishes will be charged at a la carte prices. Would not recommend the vegetarian Singapore noodles but the crispy duck was great.

Since my daughter was diagnosed as coeliac the food she misses the most has always been Chinese. I couldn't believe our luck when we noticed that Red Bamboo has a gluten free menu. We would have been happy with a so-so experience. Instead, we've had two fantastic take aways that are better than nearly all of the regular restaurants we've ordered from over the years (we could only have Chinese food when my daughter was away!) The crispy duck was fantastic, served on lettuce leaves (we ordered extra pancakes too for the non-coeliacs!), garlic prawns plump, juicy and delicious, prawn toast really flavourful, and the crispy chilli beef was the best in ages - genuinely crispy, not soggy at all. This was the second time we've ordered and will definitely be ordering again, if only to see the look of delight on my daughter's face as she tucks into all the dishes she's been craving for the last five years! Thank you!
Be the first to ReplyI have tried many Chinese locally over the years . This restaurant is a must try
Great Chinese. You will be hard push to find a better one locally. Doesn’t have a great decor but makes up for it with the food

Almost placed an order following other reviews which all seemed quite good, however the service on the phone was very disappointing. I was asked to hold three times and the person was very unorganised and quite rude. I wouldn’t usually bother putting a review about this but Im so triggered by the lack of manners and telephone etiquette I had to end the phone call and now I’m left searching for another place to eat who will appreciate my custom

this restaurant may not look great but the food staff and service is excellent the buffet menu is excellent not left on hot plates all day but cooked fresh just order what u like but don’t over order.. if u don’t eat it reverts to main price no complaints it’s a great idea I’ve been multi times never disappointed. if u talk to the very nice staff and ask for smaller portions so you can taste more it’s done… well done.

Basic decor and furnishings. Probably not the place to impress a first date, but the food was excellent, service was good and the menu was good value. The restaurant was busy for an early Saturday evening, and quite a few walk ins were turned away, so book to avoid disappointment.

Nice food, particularly starters and duck. Main courses less so - but I often find that is the case with Chinese food. Service good.

Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing and not worth the money
We had a takeaway, and the food was cold on arrival, which wasn’t a good start. It was of very poor quality and over priced. The tempura vegetables were soggy and bland. The tofu in the dish I had was slimy, spongy and tasteless. The whole thing did not taste fresh or even pleasant. We chose this restaurant based on the reviews, but our experience was not a good one, and we won’t be using them again. It’s a shame as we really fancied a Chinese for a change, and we felt very let down.
Be the first to ReplySomething for everyone
Being a frequent Visitor to a nearby takeaway, adding increased pricing, decline in service, for 5 people, an extra £20 something we sit in on an exceptional Buffet where theres something for everyone. Various Starters, Seafood stuff which I am a sucker for, Duck included where the rest of the family love, the only issue is leaving feeling bloated due to the amount we consume. Quality is spot on, clean place, all the food is good so you can't go wrong here.

First found this place 3 years ago, am glad they managed to survive after all the restaurants were shut down over covid. Amazing food, set price AYCE, better than some of the a la carte chinese restaurants around.

Had the AYCE Chinese buffet, served to you. Always good. Can order as much as you like for everything on that menu. Friendly staff, the starters and duck are of good quality food (something which some restaurants can cut corners on and think they're getting away with it). Always go back here. Been with newbies and they convert to having that as their new favourite also.
