4 ladies on a night out
Were told when booked we had 2 hours, which was fine but from d minute we arrived on time, we were under pressure to finish up, food good, but by god they were hunting us out from 7pm, good food but very overpriced

Lovely restaurant in the centre of Kilkenny. We had dinner from the early bird menu which offered a good choice of meat and fish options (vegetarian/vegan options available on request). It was delicious, as was the Merlot which we chose to accompany it. The staff were very attentive and pleasant and there was a lovely atmosphere.
Be the first to ReplyOverall a treat of an experience and highly recommended.
Had the most delicious Italian food served by very knowledgeable friendly staff in what is a lovely cosy restaurant. Highly recommended and certainly the place to visit when in Kilkenny.
Be the first to ReplyVery poor unfortunately
We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant in January. We were a party of 10 and no one was happy with what they were served. Everyone felt that food was very poor, bland and tasteless. Not worth the visit.

Day six of our Irish adventure found us in the medieval city of Kilkenny. Directly across from the castle was the real prize. An amazing dinner for 3 at Rinucconi. The food was fantastic, the service sublime and the atmosphere exactly what we were looking for.
Be the first to ReplySuperb restaurant with amazing food and staff
Had dinner here last night and the food was amazing. The starters were delicious as were the main courses. We had the monk fish and the black sole. Everything was so fresh and tasty and cooked to perfection. it was once of the nicest meals I have had in a long time. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any looking for a good restaurant in Kilkenny city. A superb experience.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing!
We are not from Kilkenny but always dine here, when we visit. We have always had an excellent dining experience but sadly, not this time. The service was poor and the food, at best, very average. Next time we visit the wonderful Marble City, we will dine elsewhere.

One of the best meals I have ever had. Beautiful food and wine, lovely ambience, absolutely superb staff. Big shout out to August, Fabio and Tony. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I had a calamari and zucchini starter, grilled sole main course, and a pannacotta dessert. A carafe of Montepulciano, glass of Vin Santo, and cappuccino to finish off. Will come again the next time I'm in Ireland. Highly recommended.

Lovely food, freshly cooked and excellent choice. The wine list is fantastic and the service was impeccable. Can't wait to visit again

Enjoyed a mid week evening meal here this week. We were booked so were seated immediately upstairs. Service was attentive and very professional such a bonus these days. I enjoyed a glass of Merlot but as my partner is a non drinker it was the food that stole the show. Starters of scallops and calamari went down a treat followed by 2 pasta dishes and finished off with 2 desserts and we were very happy satisfied and full diners. Highly recommended if in Kilkenny.

I’ve always loved this restaurant in Kilkenny. I was dining with my family last weekend and our numbers increased at the last minute - the waiting staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and welcoming to our extra guests. The food as always was fantastic. I’d highly recommend the monkfish and scallops.

We visited for lunch on a rainy Thursday afternoon and had a beautiful meal. The 2 courses for €29 and 3 courses for €36 is excellent value, and you definitely get a lot for your money. The staff are excellent and all seem to be well experienced - nothing is too much hassle. A large group of around 20 arrived as we were eating. In any other restaurant, this would have been awful, but here it somehow added to the atmosphere! We could've been in Italy! Highly recommend this hidden gem across from Kilkenny castle

No words. Food took forever, was barely warm when eventually it did come out. Others who came in after us were on dessert by the time we saw our mains. The seafood pasta had 5 mussels and 2 prawns !! The saltimbocca had not been introduced to sage and the overall after taste is of burnt garlic from the accompanying ( also burnt) spinach. Serious complaning dropped the bill from Euro to 130 to Euro 100 for a shared salad starter, 3 mains and 2 glasses of wine and 2 small beers. Much wringing of hands from management etc etc.

Superb restaurant bringing an authentic Italian dining experience to Kilkenny. On a cold, wet, windy March evening it was the tonic we needed to lift spirits. On arrival at 6.30pm, the restaurant was already buzzing with customers (Tuesday evening!). We had made a reservation many weeks in advance (well advised), so we were delighted to be shown to a table for two which commanded a view of the room but well separated from other diners, so quite private. Service for drinks orders was prompt and courteous and this excellent service continued through menu selection and delivery of courses, all the way up to presentation of the bill. The menu, with Aperitivi, Primi, Secondi and Dolci, has sufficient choice without being overwhelming. This indicated to us that the restaurant knows that limiting the choice reduces any temptation to rely heavily on frozen products and put all the effort into fresh food. Obviously, it helps with the financial running of an establishment too. The waiting staff were very helpful in explaining things in an unprompted fashion, for example by noting that it would be unnecessary to order sides with some of the main courses listed, as these would come with vegetables in any case. Primi Piatti also can be served in half-portions, which is good if going for starters and mains, as we were. The bill for two at €155 was we thought very good value for two starters, two mains, two desserts, water and three glasses of wine. Congratulations to the team at Rinuccini, and long may it continue to bring Italian sunshine to Kilkenny!
Be the first to ReplyA wonderful dining experience.
We have just enjoyed a wonderful meal in Ristorante Rinuccini. Every course was delicious and the whole experience one of the best we have had. The food was first class in terms of quality and was, in every instance, exquisitely presented.. I must add that the service was first class, attentive yet gracious and discreet. All in all a very special dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyBest Meal I Have Had in Ireland
Without doubt this place has given me two of the very best meals I have ever had in Ireland. 1st was last May and 2nd just this month (Feb '23) Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. It is foodies dream and a joy to behold
Be the first to ReplyAverage overpriced food
We went on NYE with friends, they had a set menu I think it was 60 or 65€ pp with added supplements for a number of items on the menu. At that price point I don’t think additional supplements are called for! I had scallops (with supplement) and mushroom pasta that was average. Some of our group had a lump calamari! It was cold and inedible, no one came to check the table. After 11.15ish staff came and told us they were finishing up. I don’t know what’s happened to NYE in ireland, I remember years ago restaurants and bars went to great efforts to make it a memorable event. At that price they could have included a glass of Prosecco and provided a bit of entertainment. Sadly on this occasion it with was overpriced average food with poor service. Something we are becoming accustomed to in ireland.
Be the first to ReplyBest meal in Kilkenny, maybe all of Ireland
This is by far the best restaurant in Kilkenny including the Michelin star one that I kinda hated. Perfect service, perfect wine, perfect food, perfect ambience. Sensational

Rinucini is without doubt the best restaurant in Kilkenny. I have visited on a number of occasions with my wife, and we have always had a great time. Food and staff are superb. I am a private tour guide and always recommend to my guests when in Kilkenny 👍

We were here for a family gettogether, and it was as wonderful as I remember it. It s a few years since we were last here. The standout dishes of the night were the calamari and zucchini fritters and the spaghettini with prawns. There is a lovely friendly atmosphere. Service was good, with the exception of one waiter who wasn't having a good night

The ultimate dining experience. This is an exceptional restaurant in many ways from the decor (a feast for the eyes - beautiful art and furniture, pure perfection also in terms of cleanliness) food, wine and a very professional team bringing it all together.

This is a fantastic restaurant . The food is amazing, the wine is fantastic and the staff are top tier, brilliant knowledge great service , friendly and professional, a credit to their employer. A little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for.

I chose this restaurant based on location and reviews. It is right across from the Castle and so very close to the Hibernarian hotel. It was holiday time and they were very busy, and we were seated upon arrival without a wait which was a nice plus. The restaurant is larger than it appears from the outside, and it is quite lovely. Our server was a big help on choosing a wine to go with our dinner, and the only negative about the evening was she accidentally spilled my water when trying to pour the wine. Although it mostly missed me it did soak the tablecloth. They brought a napkin to cover the wet area but it soaked thru preventing me from resting my hands on the table the rest of the evening. We did request they replace the wet napkin but were surprised they did not change out the tablecloth as no food had arrived yet. Anyway, my Husband had the whole sole which was so wonderfully prepared it was the best thing we had our entire trip. I had a pasta dish with shrimp and it was artfully presented and very delicious. We started with chicken liver pate, it was very good. This is such a lovely restaurant I wish I could return!

Our favourite restaurant in Kilkenny. It’s always a real treat to go there. It has that magical feeling that you feel in a restaurant in Tuscany. And because of that , it’s the next best thing to actually being in Italy ! The food is lovely and reasonably priced , the staff are efficient, friendly and professional and the ambiance makes it hard to leave and go back outside into reality. We spent two very enjoyable days in Kilkenny as a birthday celebration, and on both nights we went to Rinuccinis. I think this says it all !

My experience of Rinuchini’s was pretty poor last Friday evening when eight of us dined and whilst five were reasonably happy, three were very disappointed. It was most likely our choice of main course which was Monk Fish on a bed of Risotto Rice. And that’s exactly what we got , however we each received the most miserable portion of four small squares of Monk Fish of approx size 1.5 inch square. At a plate price of €34, it was a total rip off and very far short of my dining expectation. I complained to the waiter and asked he pass on my complaint to the chef or manager. After getting no response from anybody, I enquired if he passed on my complaint which he assured me he did but no response from the management. I live in Dublin and I have dined in Rinuchini’s at least 3 to 4 times a year for many years I.e. whenever I am in Kilkenny, and that was my worst ever experience. It looks like they ran out of Monkfish and made one serving look after three people. It was the meanest dish I ever saw. I was very disappointed on two fronts the first was the dish they thought was presentable and second their response to my complaint. It shows a total lack of customer care. I just read the previous review and am now not so surprised how we were treated as to the length the management went to I.e checking CCTV footage to justify an overcharge for a bottle of water, it speaks volumes. When we were leaving I spoke to the manager (I Think) who seemed surprised and offered to provide drinks but at that stage it was too late. All eight of us, including the five who were reasonably happy with the food felt it was overpriced for what we got. I was so looking forward to my visit to Rinuchini’s and now so disappointed as can never see myself returning. We were planning an family anniversary celebration there next August but it’s not as planned going to be Rinuchini’s.
