Considering the price paid (around $450 for two people), I need to give a review based on the cost. If this meal were $100 total, I would probably give it 3 stars. Timing: We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and had to wait, standing, at the

We came back to Robin, this time in Menlo Park, after first trying their SF spot years ago, and wow, they've still got that creative edge. Every piece that landed in front of us had a little twist, something you don't quite expect but tota

Don't get me wrong, the quality here is good and service is nice. I just don't know if it's worth the starting price. I'm no sushi expert, and I only lived in Japan for a combined two years, but my experience at Robin was just ok
Small, hard to find restaurant.
Whoever branded their sign/logo of a "robin" probably missed the mark on functionality. Both myself and my guest both had a hard time finding the front door. The server said no menues and to select $119 or $219 menu. Since we really had

The best omakase experience! The food was well thought out and beautifully done. Left me wanting more!
Good experience.
We got the $150 package. The sever was very attentive. We had the 5pm dining room rsvp so the place was empty when we came. They open at five. We parked in the lot behind so we drove around to the back street and entered that way. We then walked towa

What a stunning omakase experience!! The service was fantastic -- waters constantly refilled, empty plates taken away quickly, and regular check ins. Ambiance of the restaurant is lovely and I enjoyed sitting at the bar looking into the kitchen.
I have been to Robin in SF and also in Menlo Park as well.
Robin has not disappointed me each time I visited the restaurant. The Omakase style and their twist on traditional Japanese sushi is quite good. They have add -ons to their basis set menu. I find their basic set menu is perfect. I had done the ad
The ambiance and service make this place.
The food is good but not the best omakase ever (for me). The amount of wasabi in some of the nigiri we were given really cleared out my sinuses, and had my eyes watering at one point. Even my daughter, who is a spice queen, felt it was overpowering.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Robin Menlo Park at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Robin Menlo Park page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* MaternalRecord73, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* MaternalRecord73 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to MaternalRecord73 for any questions Peter may have as MaternalRecord73 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* MaternalRecord73 now uses their connections at Robin Menlo Park to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If MaternalRecord73 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, MaternalRecord73 receives the $200 reward which is credited to MaternalRecord73's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Robin Menlo Park!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
