The food was okay
The food is good. Nothing too special but tastes good. Not the best customer service but will still recommend this place if you want to try something new.
Be the first to ReplyWeird food, rude server
I stopped by this stall because of good reviews elsewhere, to try the cockles. They were out of cockles, so I tried to order something else. It was a challenge because the surly cook/server wasn't very helpful, answering all my questions by simply pointing to the photos, although they were obviously not sufficiently helpful.
I settled for the cuttlefish platter and expected it to resemble some sort of squid. Instead, it was a thin, dry, flat, beige, three-inch-square sheet of flavorless cardboard that he quickly fried on a grill then cut into narrow strips. This was mixed into a bean sprout sandwich that was also cut into small squares.
The side dish was black gelatinous "century eggs." If you don't know what those are, look it up before you order -- you won't believe it. These weren't terrible and worth trying just once if you're adventurous. Overall, a terrible experience. I went across the hall and got fried wontons.
Worth trying!
Food is great and yummy, although the price keeps going up. The portions aren't huge, but the quality is not compromised. Every bite is crunchy, refreshing, and flavourful.
That said, this is a popiah store i highly recommend those who flock to Maxwell to try!
Very bad service attitude
Not a stall to patronise. Regardless how nice is the food, stall need to maintain basic customer service.
Was asking the owner what time they opened and he gave a very rude reply with a blunt tone.
Decided not to patronise it.
Nothing set me rolling or rocking
it is just okay (only tasted the rojak)...the doughstick is not warm or crispy, in fact hard to bite
The sauce is abit too concentrated, it could be made lighter to balance the taste
I have eaten better rojak elsewhere! but pricing once, the portion is good
Wouldn't come back even if the food was good.
The people selling/cooking were very rude. Did not feel like they wanted our business. I ordered the Rojak, which was really sweet. Not sure what was all in it but it was not my cup of tea. The Popiah was a bit better but was also sweet. The people selling made me not want to give this stall another try.

Is it the best polish Iโve had, probably not. Itโs certainly still tasty with generous filling and a non soggy-ness to it that makes me want more. Reasonably priced for 2 itโs about $2.80. Would 100% order it again
Be the first to ReplyGood enough!
Poh piah was a little too soggy for us but taste was good. Rojak had the unripe mango which made it rather special. Very reasonable prices.

The popiah skin was thin and the fillings were generous. Only other popiah I've had was at Takashimaya food court and compared to that, this one was better in the sense it was drier and not soggy when served. 2 pieces for sgd2.50, can't complain.
