Best dinning experience in Amsterdam
Best food we have had in Amsterdam. We had the rice tasting table, and had the best experience. The food was delicious and varied. They took a “no-fish” request into consideration and adapted on the spot. The service was great. Polite but not too pushy, and gave great wine recommendations. Definitely recommendable.

Very slow service, have to wait 45 min for our starters dumplings portion are rediculous small for the price, wait another half hour for main course, the spinach dish is way overpriced 20 euro for a handful spinach is raw not cooked. The meat is just thin rolled up filled with some mushrooms Fish dish was ok but not enough to share. Shrimps is too tiny for that price is way overpriced!! Vegetarian dumplings you get 1 dumpling, 1 TINY fried spring roll, 1 tiny sesame ball what is sweet. Never been disappointed in my life eating in a Michelin restaurant, I am so embarrassed to bring my fam to Ron Blaauw restaurant. We left still hungry, went to another place to eat. Shame on you Ron Blaauw…. Ik schaam me blauw, en erger me blauw!!!!! Bowl white rice 8,20 yes little bowl rice was cold and hard manager gave us another bigger bowl with rice what is pretty good. I ended up eating rice with soy sauce!! True story!!

Top notch experience...first time in Amsterdam that o experience a level similar to London We particularly enjoyed the duck gyoza, the ribs and the beef BAO. Special thanks to Daniele that made every effort and succeed in making our night special. We hope to come back. Also the prices were reasonable for Amsterdam

Be the first to ReplyDim sum & Satay Kambing - bring me more please!
Great ambiance, super friendly and attentive service, top food. Snacks to accompany an aperitif - difficult to pick some, they all sound delicious. We had the duck spring roll (yummie!) and frog leg’s, don’t be put off by the name, they were served with nice herbs and sauce… first time for me, will order again.
Wide choice of delicious dim sum and small dishes (don't forget the satay kambing!) The duck is the overall winner. Close call with the home made sambal ;)
All this in combination with an extensive wine list and live musical entertainment. Very happy for you that you are open again. Good luck and keep the good work up! We’ll be back for more
Great take away Indonesian food!
I had the most amazing Indonesian 'Rijsttafel', available for take-away and delivery during the lockdown. Many many different dishes,, and all full of flavour. Big recommendation!
Be the first to ReplyJust had the best ever Chinese
Just had the best ever Chinese at Ron Gastrobar on Kerkstraat in Amsterdam. Unbelievable service, presentation and flavours. The staff ensure that you understand not only the menu but also the preparation which goes into their signature dish. They tell you in which order to eat the mixed dim sum to make the most of the varied flavours, and suggest you don’t put sauce on the Wagyu Dim Sum! We ordered the spare rib off the bone which melted in your mouth. Even the duck is served in two dishes because breast and leg should be flavoured differently. Even the bar tender came to the table to ensure the drinks were to our satisfaction. Seriously impressed by this venue.
Be the first to ReplyGood service, reasonable food, Disappointing experience.
The place looks nice, the service is great. However, as a vegetarian I was extremely disappointed. If a restaurant positions itself as 'high end' in the market, this high end service should not be reserved for a specific dietary preferences only. This was the case, as far as my experience is concerned. This restaurant has no problem in charging me the same amount, (85 euros for the meal with wine) and giving me less variety, and less volume than my non-vegetarian company, without so much as an acknowledgement of their oversight or unfairness. The first course, dimsums, were 3 different types for my friends but only one type in the vegetarian option. Surely my 3 identical dimsums could NOT have taken the same amount of ingredient diversity and effort to create. But I paid the same amount. The second course involved duck followed by glass noodles (as a surprise second part of the second course) and of course the vegetarians are not afforded such surprises. I am very disappointed that in today's day and age where restaurants should be doing everything to ensure that their patrons have a great experience, Ron's gastrobar overlooked such critical points, in a city like Amsterdam where I am sure vegetarians are not an insignificant minority. Such carelessness in customer experience does not take time to translate into the food. I definitely saw it in my vegetarian meal, which was good but nothing better than dishes at HappyHappyJoyJoy at one third the price.
I will not be visiting again and I will be advising my friends and family not to either.
Cocktail bar with food
This place is aiming to be both a cocktailbar and a restaurant;
However you get a clear feeling that the waiters want it to be a cocktailbar with snacks.
The price level for a dinner here is completely out of touch with the ambience and waiters beach-bar attitude. If you are looking for a dining experience, go somewhere else, plenty of far better options at that price level in the neighbourhood.
