Salty Sow Austin Reviews
We came here for a happy hour.
They do have a small parking lot. They have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. We appreciated the heaters outside. The staff was very professional and checked on us frequently. They have a good happy hour menu, especially for food. For happy hour,

Food was great but the wait staff was inattentive and at some point almost felt like we were annoying him when we wanted to order more. We were out in the patio, so lots of stairs and a maze to get in and out of. Happy hour menu was great.
Cocktails were ok- don't order the dirty martini.
Everything had an egg on it (on fries, why???)...ordered chicken on my salad and got an under seasoned, old, dry chicken thigh. Service was underwhelming and disappointing, the energy was off from the jump. Have been here before but tonight was unfor

First time was amazing and the second did not disappoint! This place is really top notch...the food, the service and the setting. We started with the whipped ricotta and the marrow. Both are exceptional! If you like bone marrow, get here...they d
When in Austin, this is one of my 1st stops.
It's all amazing; the food, the ambiance, the space! The roasted bone marrow is the best I've had and their rosemary honey fried chicken is finger licking amazing. So many delicious options. Can't say enough.
Always great food and drinks.
Waiter even remembered me from a previous visit almost a year prior. Great service!

We visited The Salty Sow on a Friday night.
Parking is limited, but we lucked out and grabbed the last handicap spot. Getting onto the sidewalk was a small obstacle course thanks to the car stops, but we managed. The host was welcoming and found us a spot to wait until a wheelchair-accessible

I'd heard of Salty Sow since I moved to Austin and I finally got to try it. They were running a special on Labor Day with BOGO entrees so it was really worth it. We were seated at a high table next to the window to the kitchen so that was really
Food and service were good but cocktails were just average.
Salty Sow is consistent and menu is moderately priced. We sat outside and it was a little warm. They seem to be integrating Waylon J BBQ more into the menu.

It's been 5 years and Salty Sow has just gone to Salty OH-NO for me... returning during happy hour (daily from 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM), the menu offers some top contenders such as the Truffled Devil Eggs, the Triple Fried Duck Fat Fries, and the Rose

The happy hour is one of if not the best in ATX! Service is top notch and great beer selection. Pork belly tacos were my favorite and I'll be going back very soon to eat more.
Have a wonderful dinner with a friend from out of town.
Larry was an attentive server. We took advantage of happy hour, deviled eggs, and duck fat fries-so good dipping the crisp fries into the soft boiled egg. My friend enjoyed a fried avocado entrΓ©e, which was a very generous portion and she thought it

Needed a couple cocktails to sort out some problems, found Salty Sow on a walk to Mi Madres. The happy hour list was compelling, I probably should have stopped there. Devilled eggs with Truffles and Fish Tacos. The waiter convinced me to add a b

4 star meal with reasonable prices.
A four star experience without the price. Beet and goat cheese salad, brussel sprouts, honey chicken and biscuits, and banana foster beignets were all exceptional! First time there and totally impressed!
Phenomenal Service
Wow! INCREDIBLE!!! What a first impression, no less!!! We got there, with the notion that we made reservations earlier, in the day, so we planned accordingly, but I guess MY dumbass forgot to press enter or something and failed to actually make the
Good Food and Drinks
I have celiac disease, so for me having gluten free options is important. I had the slow cooked beef shoulder with mashed potatoes and carrots. Everything in this meal, even the au jus, is naturally gluten free. The truffled deviled eggs are also
Outstanding Restaurant!
Outstanding experience with delicious food, excellent customer service, and fun atmosphere! Thank you for a fantastic evening!
So good!
Arrived in time for happy hour! The fried chicken with biscuit were yummy! Ordered an extra one so we wouldn't have to share the biscuit. Deviled eggs, farm salad, and pork carnitas, all shared between the two of us. Excellent. Wait staff
Good, but didnβt really impress.
Iβd give it 3.5 if I could. Gave it the extra half-star because service and ambience was on-point. Food was better than just ok, but really didnβt wow me. The table got the fries, brussel sprouts and deviled eggs for apps. All good but nothing

Food is delicious.
Happy hour is great. One time they had these fries with pork belly and queso. Omgggg. I think they were seasonal but they were ahhhmazing.
BRB, running to reorder the fried chicken.
One of the best HHs in town.
Great place to meet for post work drinks and appetizers.
Unique enough to bring visitors to Austin. Excellent menu. The time there floats by most pleasantly. Much of the seating is stools with backs. I prefer my feet on the ground. It's my only reservation about this fine place.

Flushed out this gem on a quick trip to Austin for our "weekend". Service was outstanding from the host stand to the close out. Food was delicious. Do yourself a favor and get those beets or the deviled eggs for a starter. Signature drinks
Ate here while in town traveling.
Group of 6 and we tried a lot of different things. I wish I had taken pictures. We will definitely try it again.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Salty Sow Austin at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Salty Sow Austin page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* CompellingStation67, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* CompellingStation67 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to CompellingStation67 for any questions Peter may have as CompellingStation67 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* CompellingStation67 now uses their connections at Salty Sow Austin to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If CompellingStation67 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, CompellingStation67 receives the $200 reward which is credited to CompellingStation67's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Salty Sow Austin!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
