Lazy employees
We walked in at 6:58 to place an order to go and weโre told they were already closed. The sign on the door as well as website say they close at 8:00. Lazy. Will not be back.

Excellent food, reasonably priced with cheerful service! Family owned and operated. The pineapple coleslaw is unique and very tasty. Highly recommend!

Been here a couple times now and Sammyโs is pretty consistent in the quality of the BBQ and at a decent price. The tri tip sandwich is a must and does not need extra meat like the big chains require. More than enough meat unless you want more good meat. Donโt forget the Hawaiian meatballs!

Went to Sammy's because they were having a fundraiser 4 a local school my daughter attends. They are obviously a family-oriented business. As I was walking from the back of the parking lot I could see they smoke their meats on sight in the back with black Oak wood or something like that. I ordered the Kahlua pork and tri-tip with a couple sides. The Kahlua pork was out of this world. It was slightly juicy, slightly smokey, slightly fatty, just a perfect balance, it didn't need any sauce. The tri-tip had a little more smoke to it which was perfect. The atmosphere was a little sparse, used to be a Pizza Hut (ugh), but you're there for the island BBQ. The staff was very friendly and I highly recommend this place.

A glob of fatty meat on a paper plate with "chow mein" that isn't like any chow mein you've ever seen - a translucent greasy noodle with odd ingredients. $13 for this plate of grease. This isn't at all Barbeque so I don't know why it's called Barbeque.

We were there for a late lunch. Nice greeting by young man behind the counter. Walk up to the counter to place your order. Menu, which is posted on the wall, is easy to read and understand. Select from ribs, pulled pork, tri-tip or clicken. Select your sides and drink. Desserts are available. Pay for your meal and be seated. They bring your order to you. Our food was served quickly, was well plated and hot. Portions are generous. Flavor is to be slowly enjoyed. Price is appropriate for value received. Dining area is clean. Location is easy to find. Ample parking. One suggestion: if water is your drink of choice, purchase bottled water. The city tap water was very chlorinated. We will be back soon!

Not your typical BBQ place Sammy's featuresTerryaki Chicken, Tri-Tip, Kalua Pork , Chicken Katsu, Mac Salad, Potato Salad , or Rice. Great Pineapple Upside Down Cake for desert. Voted one of the best BBQ Restaurants in Humbolt County.

Having been to Sammyโs in King Salmon (So. Eureka) and loving it, had to try their new location on Fifth Street. Lots of food choices-plates with sides or รก la carte. I got the pulled pork with macaroni salad (SO GOOD!!) and coleslaw. My son got the tri-tip sandwich which he said was delicious. I also tried the crab puffs, excellent appetizer. Tried the banana cake and it was ok. Easy to find on north HWY 101. Clean restaurant, reasonable prices and friendly staff. Highly recommend!!
