I love this little Mexican restaurant in Shoreditch.
I was visiting from the US and just happened across this little restaurant. I was greeted and served by Tanita who was just delightful, welcoming and friendly. The food and ambiance were great (I had the chicken tacos). I highly recommend this little gem.
Be the first to ReplyGood ambience, very tiny portions for the price you pay.
They don't seem to like walk ins. We did not feel welcome since we did not have a reservation. Quality of food is good but our items came cold to us.

We were not disappointed. The cocktails were delicious and the food had a depth of flavor that surprised me. They had a tres leches cake with cardamom and ginger that was the perfect balance. Everyone there was so kind, as well! Definitely recommend.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for a team dinner around 6:30pm on a Wednesday.
It was fairly packed already but we were seated upstairs in the corner near the fireplace which is great since it gave us a bit of privacy. I'm biased in that Mexican food is my favorite but I've been fairly disappointed in a lot of the things I've eaten but not here. Everything was delicious and actually flavorful. Both the lamb shank and short ribs were tender and/or fell off the bone. The only thing I was disappointed about was the guacamole. It was in such a tiny portion in a small dish which made it hard to get it out. In addition, it needed a bit more salt but the rest of the meal made up for it. I would definitely recommend coming here especially since it's an already popular place.

Loved this cute little cozy spot!Bespoke cocktails, wonderful atmosphere. And the lovely Nina served us, such a refreshing smile and energy apposed to other places in London. Great tacos, and very friendly.

Europe (and the United Kingdom for that matter) is not known for its Mexican food. After living in Italy for about 10-years, I've grown very skeptical of any "Mexican" restaurants over here. So, as you can imagine, when my husband told me he made us reservations at a Mexican restaurant in London, I raised an eye brow. I've never been so happy to be so wrong, though! Santo Remedio is legit! In fact, they are cranking out some of the best mole sauce I've ever had. (They're only bested by the all time, reigning champs, Three Amigos in Charlotte, NC.) We devoured the slow cooked short ribs that came smothered in the delicious mole de Oaxaca sauce and with a side of fried plantains. We really enjoyed the nibbles that we tried, too -- the guac (with grasshoppers!!), chips and salsa, and queso fresco were all great. Even the cocktails were fab. The restaurant is adorable. I felt like I was in a Mexican abuela's house. It was warm and inviting but also fun and colorful! Our waitress, Laura, was just the cherry on top of a wonderful experience and meal. She was so friendly and helpful, full of helpful recommendations and took some time to chat with us despite a busy night. Can't wait for our next visit to London. Our first stop will be Santo Remedio!

Very good Mexican restaurant, most likely the best one I have tried in London!I had the Soft Shell Crab Tacos, Baby Potato Flautas, and Hibiscus Enchiladas and they were all flavorful and good portions for the prize. Drinks are also pretty good, I tried the Homemade Tepache and the Hibiscus Agua Fresca and they were both refreshing. Desserts are good as well, I had Churros con Cajeta and Chocoflan with the latter especially amazing. The place itself is nice and prices are fair for the good quality of the food.

What a fun buzzy restaurant! There is a great selection of food on the menu and we shared some tacos and sides. Highlight was probably the corn. Lowlight, the soft crab tacos which came over cooked and dry. That said, we had a great time. The service was excellent as well.

Looking for a little spice in London after a tour and this place popped up. They were fully booked for the day but squeezed us in. The food was amazing and made us feel like we were home.

Wonderful to find authentic, delicious Mexican food in London! After nearly 2 weeks of local fare, which we enjoyed very much, it was wonderful to find a delicious change of pace.

This was by far the best drop in restaurants during our trip out in the UK. Authentic Mexican cuisine, great hospitality and overall a great experience. Loved the Chuletas and platano combination i chose. Was surprised my wife loved the tuna tostadas, especially because she is is not a sea food lover like I am. And last thank you guys for the churros with cajeta dip, we really enjoyed them, even though my daughter ate most of them. Not sure when our next trip to London will be, but when that day comes count on us stopping by for another amazing experience.

It was our last night in London, and were were craving Mexican food. After a quick search of restaurants around our hotel, we found Santo Remedio. The space is cute, light and airy, despite having somewhat cozy table spacing. The margaritas were bright tasting and not cloyingly sweet. The food was fresh and full of flavor. We ordered chips and guacamole, a chorizo quesadilla, barbacoa tacos, plantains and black beans. We enjoyed our drinks and food immensely. The prices are higher than your neighborhood taqueria, but we felt it was well worth it. The barbacoa was some of the best I've had on either side of the Atlantic. Definitely go here if you find yourself in the neighborhood!

The portions were too small and the food lacked taste. We have had much better Mexicans food at many other places. It is a Michelin recommended restaurant so i am now questioning their standards. Plus, the day we went they had no fish.

Cedros tea is rich in flavor with a special taste you will not find anywhere else. The guacamole was amazing. I can make great guacamole at home so I am very particular and usually don't like buying guacamole. This one is the best I've tried. Very well balanced I also had barbacoa tacos which were very tasty. I was afraid they would be dry but the meat was very moist and just made it perfect. We had a side of rice which can use some improvement as the taste is bland. Overall great dinning experience. Our server Kevin was very friendly and helpful.

My mom and I are visiting London and decided to try Mexican for a change here. We LOVED the food, it's very authentic and super tasty. The service was good, but the food was even better. Highly suggest you try this restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyThe food is amazing.
Best Mexican I've had in London. Incredibly fresh and finely tuned tastes. The cocktails are also excellent and even the churros (which doesn't ring bells of luxury) are delicious. Can't recommend enough. The staff were all really lovely as well, happy to recommend and guide through the menu. The only criticism if I had to say something is that the music and noise levels were quite loud when busy. It's not cheap but so so worth the money if you can afford it.
Be the first to ReplyQuality ingredients and great recipes.
If you are looking for small portion but high quality unique meal, Santo Remedio delivers. You can tell the chef has thought through the menu. They even offer a SAT & SUN brunch with unlimited food/beverage for around £65/person.That said, if you want a meal that is going to fill you up --- I recommend choosing two menu items to satisfy.Service was decent and the location/atmosphere was great.

Would have given a 5, but the portions are toooo small!Delicious Mexican food, but expect to pay a lot because you'll likely need to double up on amount of food you order. And the margaritas were small.

Omgosh !! My sister and I were visiting from New York and we decided to visit Santo Remedio for Mexican food. Such a good decision. The chips and guacamole came out first and in one bite we fell in love. We knew we were going to love the food. Everything was well seasoned and played nicely. We ordered Pork Belly Tacos, Chorizo Quesadilla, Meatballs for entree, Chicken enchilada entree and virgin hibiscus margaritas. I would definitely go back when I visit London again. Please open a location in NYC.

I came here in a group of five adults, two kids, with reservations. The server was pretty nice and attentive enough. The decor is very cute and the music very Mexican youth (one of my friends there was from Mexico and she really enjoyed what they were playing). I had orders off their specials menus the pork tamale (£8.25) with a side of elote (£4.25). The food took some time to come out but at 6:30 pm, the place was becoming more crowded. The food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Just a note, the elote does come on the cob so if you don't like chomping corn on the cob in public, maybe ask for a knife to cut it off the cob. My deduction of a Star was really for their price and portion. For what you pay, you do hope to get more for it but this is a "fancier" Mexican fusion place. Also location is pretty good and easy to find.
