Randomly stumbled across this place for lunch while in elmhurst. I can see why they are listed as a place to eat at in Michelin's list. We sat outside in a cozy whimsical booth (with ac). Started off with thai fried rice for the kids and some cocktails for us. We tried the heart beat and purple dream cocktails, refreshing and beautifully presented. The menu boats an array of amazing authentic thai dishes. Many of which I haven't seen since frequenting street Thai spots in Bangkok.y wife had the chicken tom la soup with the som tum salad (Thai spicy), very good. I went with a more local dish of the kuay chap, a pork noodle soup with many parts of the pig. All the dishes were masterfully made and portions sizes were hearty! We ended the meal with fried ice cream. Service overall was super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be returning, the food was as close to Thailand as it gets.

It's a small restaurant but offer a big taste. Two dishes stands out: Miang Kha-Na and Yum Pla Duk Fu Salad. They are great starters to share with your dinner companions. We are all coming back again.

Be the first to ReplyOne of the best (if not the best) Thai places in the nyc/LI.
Recommend making a reservation as it can get busy. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Food comes out pretty fast. - catfish mango salad (refreshing and pretty big for an appetizer) - drunken noodles (amazing, noodles cooked to perfection) - Kang kua sator (tasty, would probably opt for something else next time but good solid dish) - mango sticky rice (soo good, mangos ripened to perfection, only wish there was more sticky rice given the mango ratio) Nice looking small restaurant with cute lights. Perfect for a casual date night Will definitely come back and/or go for takeout! Close to the subway. Parking wasn't too hard to find otherwise.
Be the first to ReplyLoved the fried catfish mango salad.
Super flavorful. The Tom yum noodle soup is good too and the portions are huge. When they give you spicy options, it is actually SPICY!

The food is mediocre and the waitresses at night are rude and obnoxious! They don't even let you use the bathroom while waiting for food! Disgusting! I would never go back to eat there! The waitresses should learn manners!

Definitely recommend to make a reservation, as it gets pretty packed on the weekend lunch hours. The waitstaff is friendly and the food is so good! I love love loved the papaya salad, crab fried rice, thai iced tea, curry puffs, stir fried pork belly. Fits about 1-2 larger groups and the rest are smaller tables. Would definitely come back again!

Made a reservation for a Saturday night and had an amazing meal here. I tried: + Thai iced tea + Yum pla duk fu + Khao soi noodle + Duck noodle soup + Mango sticky rice I've had better khao soi elsewhere, but everything else was fantastic. Would get the yum pla duk fu salad again in a heartbeat. Thai tea and mango sticky rice were also perfect!

A cute little Thai spot in Elmhurst that's cozy for date nights. The menu is extensive - there are so many options to choose from & the food is so flavorful! The drinks are so adorable (I'd say IG worthy!). The service is pretty quick so the wait shouldn't be long but I'd highly recommend making reservations during busy times.
Be the first to ReplyDespite the bustling atmosphere, the service at this Thai
Despite the bustling atmosphere, the service at this Thai restaurant was nothing short of warm and welcoming. The staff's efficiency was commendable, with our food arriving promptly. While most of our selections were seafood-based, we also ventured into the land-based fare with a duck curry dish. This dish was an unexpected delight, featuring fruit that added a surprisingly pleasant sweetness to the savory curry. The clams with basil sauce were a delightful surprise, boasting a flavor that was both bold and satisfying. The sauce, in particular, was a standout, enhancing the dish's overall taste. The curry--a dish I've savored in the past--remained excellent, maintaining the high standard with its flavorful and bone-free experience. The Pad See Ew with shrimp and the Thai fried rice with shrimp were consistently pleasing, with the latter emerging as a table favorite for its harmonious blend of flavors. Our meal concluded on a high note with a mango over coconut sticky rice for dessert. Recommended by our exceptionally friendly waitress, we indulged despite our fullness. It was a decision well made, as the dessert proved to be a remarkable fusion of sweet mango and creamy rice--a must-try for any visitor. In essence, this restaurant is a bastion of consistently excellent food and cordial service. Whether you're a fan of seafood or looking for something a little different like the fruit-infused duck curry, I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment for an authentic Thai dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyStumbled upon this Michelin star thai place.
Thankfully I came in before it got busy for dinner on a Saturday. It took me a while to decide what to get. I wanted to try their Michelin rated dishes but nothing appealed to me at that time. I got an ice tea and a Khao soi. I had to wait quite a while. I thought the fried noodles were that actually noodles they gave me on the side but the egg noodles were under the chicken. I thought I was gonna get only a drumstick but it was that plus a thigh. The soup was piping hot so no wonder it took a while to come out. They were really heating it up. The broth was good. Nice spicy coconut flavor. The noodles were nice and soft. The chicken fell right off the bone, no knife needed. I had this for early dinner and was full until the late night. The place is fairly small. The staff are very nice and attentive.

The aphorism "good things come in small packages" aptly describes Saranrom, a Thai restaurant whose food is as good as its company. Its tiny interior might be underwhelming, but the small space grows on you as you marvel at the warmth of the staff and the slappin' dishes. We started off with some drinks and appetizers. My lychee juice was so refreshing, though the fried tofu and chive pockets we got weren't impressive. The tofu didn't have any flavor but dousing it into the sweet dipping sauce quickly remedied that. The chive pockets were big but not as crispy as I would have liked, and the flavor wasn't strong. Despite that, we were wowed by our main courses. Yes, we were basic and ordered the usual Pad Thai, Drunken Noodle, and Kee Mao Thai with fried pork, but the dishes deserve an honorable mention for their outstanding flavors. The Pad Thai had some of the thinnest noodles I had ever seen, but one bite captivated me with the sweet flavor and the bouncy texture of the noodles. Each of our noodle dishes were loaded with a plethora of the ingredients, sparing no expense at keeping our taste buds on their toes. I especially loved the crispy fried pork in my boyfriend's Kee Mao Thai and could not help but steal one too many pieces. The table next to us had returned for a second visit in two days, a path I'm keen to follow. Next time, I'm gonna be more adventurous and try their Crispy Mussel Pancake or Stir Fried Catfish. Their menu is so expansive that if desired, each visit can be a culinary adventure.

I really enjoyed the shrimp paste fried rice and drunken noodles. I also ordered one of the Michelin recommended noodles. I don't remember the name of the dish but I did not like it at all. I usually finish all my food but stopped after 3 spoonfuls.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Thai food I had for lunch one time.
Good beef drunken noodles and Thai dumplings. Washed it down with their Thai iced tea
