An acquaintance of mine mentioned she worked here but by the time I went she no longer worked there. However I was forearmed with knowledge about some of the dishes from another acquaintance. I got there right as they opened on Sunday and started off with their tuna tacos which were two small tortillas but packed with cubes of tuna. I ended up getting their ceviche and the hamachi crudo as well to stick with their raw offerings. The ceviche came with little plantain chips that was a nice crunchy/sweet counterpoint to the richness of the fish. While they're both listed as crudo on the menu, the hamachi had a completely different preparation and while just as good had that traditional taste with a little bit of crunch. The only cooked item I got was the pita with seaweed butter, again sounded simple but in execution was that right balance of sweet and savory. I didn't see it on the menu but I asked about their fig dessert and they had just enough to make it. I also asked about the strawberry basil water that I was told was gratis but didn't receive until I asked for it. I wonder when they'll reopen because when they do I'll be right there...asking for the off menu items I've come to expect.

Is it permanently closed? I hope not. That would be a shame....
Be the first to ReplyEasily one of the best places I've eaten at in a long time.
Selfishly, I didn't want to leave this review so we could keep this place a secret and avoid it from becoming too popular :) seriously...so good. Go. Eat everything. Impeccable service.

From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the fresh and inviting atmosphere. The decor is nautical-themed, with tasteful touches that create a welcoming and relaxed vibe.. The service was top-notch as well. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, and made great recommendations for both food and drinks. The wine list was impressive, with a good selection of both local and international wines. We chose the sake tough that was recommended by Omer. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves fresh seafood. It's a great spot for dinner, a night out with friends, or even a family gathering. The food, service by our chef and owner, Dan Savida, and the atmosphere are all excellent. I can't wait to come back again soon. Thank you for the experience!

We were excited to try this restaurant given the article we had read about it and the exceptional reviews. The food itself is very tasty and fresh. Freshest fish imaginable. The tomato salad and the asparagus salad are large portions and delicious. The raw fish dishes are also tasty as they blend salt and lemon juice and oil in a perfect way. Very unique flavors you won't find elsewhere! Wait staff and management very nice as well and responsive to questions and special requests! Thank you! Will be back!

We found Savida on our last night in LA, situated on a corner on Montana with easy neighborhood parking. On a rainy night, there were few customers and we were attended to lavishly. The food is some of the best we've experienced in LA. This included a most memorable truffle lobster slider, rice with pieces of perfectly prepared teriyaki grilled salmon and tuna Schwarma, a creative take on the original. We began the meal with stuffed Olives and warmed pita with seaweed butter. A great antidote to the cold and wet outside.

Be the first to ReplyHighly recommend the lobster sliders excellent.
Shrimp tostadas delicious also. Friendly staff and will go out of their way to make sure that you have an excellent experience. My tip also is to request tables in the center of the restaurant if you do not want to sit at the counter or outside.
Be the first to ReplyVery average.
Portions are super small and very expensive for what it is. No special presentation. You're better off going to a nice sushi place.

Be the first to ReplyMy partner and I loved this place.
All the seafood was fresh and well prepared. We ordered oysters, hamachi, the crab salad, tacos and the tostada. The chef was kind of enough to make us a special dish. Anyone who loves seafood has to try this new place. The service was also amazing. Small place and the service from Omar and team made the dinner feel special. Definitely would recommend.

Very healthy seafood meal prep and friendly staff, very small place but very clean too
Be the first to ReplySavida is a really cute new restaurant.
The staff was great and the food was absolutely delicious. I personally got the "oyster's best friend wine" ($16), half a dozen oysters ($4 each), ceviche ($21), the tuna taco ($11, comes with 1) , and the lobster slider ($9, comes with 1). We also tried their sake and it was nice and smooth. Everything was very tasting but i will say that their portions are pretty small. Will be coming back!

Great service and great food! We really loved the sampler plate; everything on it was delicious. We also ordered the tuna shawarma; flavors were great and the pita was warm and fluffy but I wish the tuna was raw instead of seared.

Cozy little spot on Montana, with exceptionally fresh raw seafood and very attentive service. The lobster sliders are delicious, as is the crab salad and the hamachi -- the former of which is studded with crab meat, grapefruit and avocado. Both the al fresco seating (next to heat lamps at night) and indoor (we ate at the counter) are comfortable and conducive to leisurely dining and intimate conversations.
