Serea Coastal Cuisine Coronado Reviews from The Last Year
A lovely experience on a Sunday Night! We happened to
A lovely experience on a Sunday Night! We happened to witness a SpaceX rocket launch which was really cool. My girlfriend is Gluten Free, and they have many gluten free options oj the menu. When we ordered, they assured me that they would handle her dishes with extra care (changing out cooking gear, gloves and such). And, without even me having to ask, they took to taking the same precautions with my dishes (I'm not gluten free, but wanted to order gluten free so we could share). We had the special Scallop Risotto with grated Truffle, and the lamb chops. The lamb chops were melt in your mouth good, and the truffles offered a burst of umami entangled in a sea of different textures in the risotto--soft scallop, but with a seared surface, crispy garlic, truffles flakes, and a warm satisfying risotto as the backdrop. We also had the patatas bravas, which despite being covered in that sauce, had a crispiness you could hear! And, since we were celebrating my girlfriend's birthday, we also got complimentary mango sorbet, which was far smoother than most sorbets that I've ever consumed. All in all a wonderful experience--to be expected by the great Hotel Del in Coronado, but a delight nonetheless! Can't wait to return~
Service was slow on Father's Day; we waited an hour.
Our son didn't like anything on the menu and wanted something on the kids' menu, but he was denied. We got charged $10 each for water and sparkling water. The food was okay. The only thing amazing was the view and weather; it was great. The restaurant had no control over it since it would have been a cloudy, gloomy day if they did. If you think $180 is suitable for basic French Toast, you might as get robbed.

We had a lovely afternoon graduation lunch celebration at Serea. We had reservations and were promptly seated underneath an umbrella on two facing comfortable navy blue couches. The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxed, with the iconic Hotel Del on our left, and the beach to our right. Our server, Alex, quickly developed a rapport with us. He and his assistant server anticipated our every need, and in doing so made this celebration extra special. We had the serea mezze appetizer, with olives, marcona almonds, whipped farmers cheese, hummus, and grilled pita. Excellent! My son enjoyed a guava refresher mocktail and challah french toast. Also on our list of meals: the California breakfast burrito, Mediterranean chopped salad, Greek salad, and Greek fries. Everything was fresh, delicious, and made to our specifications. Alex brought my son a surprise birthday cake ice cream mixed with red velvet cake and a candle. He led us in singing "happy graduation" to my son to the tune of happy birthday. About halfway through our meal the beach DJ began playing upbeat popular songs. We were not at all rushed, and took the time to converse and reflect upon the moment. If you are looking for a special place to celebrate a memorable milestone, or just want to enjoy an idyllic meal with beach ambiance, check out Serea Coastal Cuisine at Hotel Del Coronado. We will definitely be back!
What an amazing dining experience I stared with the Del's
What an amazing dining experience I stared with the Del's famous martini...the Marilyn, named after one of their most famous guests. For dinner I had the filet' which was one of the best steaks I have ever had and of course a glass of Napa Cab. The outside dining experience was complete with a view of the lawn and ocean. Well done! I'll be back.

So, I think this place is difficult to give an accurate star rating because it is so pretty! You really cannot beat sitting outside at a table and watching the sunset. The service was excellent (our server) other than one of the staff members cleaning the table off and as he did so, setting another guests' dirty plate on our table in order to stack more on it. Very gross and should not happen at a place like this! The food was decent. I was not overly impressed with anything to be honest. The only item that we ordered that I would eat again was the Yellowtail crudo dish with the crunchies on the top of it. It was fresh, flavorful, and unique. The pan seared salmon entree was dry and not flavored at all. The scallop risotto was probably one of the worst dishes I have had in awhile. I could not even eat it. It was completely inedible due to the amount of excessive salt on it. Again, beautiful place with gorgeous views, but not great food. I suggest coming for wine and a sunset!

We ate here for breakfast during our stay at the hotel del Coronado. We didn't end up coming back because it was a lot more adult friendly than kid friendly, probably what the restaurant intended to do. The kids food is very limited, they had a berries and yogurt option that had a very strong Greek yogurt and mint leaves as well as French toast and an egg combo plate. We also got the shakshuka which was delicious as well as the veggie omelette, and the cruffin with jam. Everything was tasted good and the service was great. For that breakfast for 5 along with two coffees ran us about $130 so it isn't cheap. I would come here again if it was just adults.
What a terrible restaurant! Food is tremendously overpriced.
Truck diner atmosphere. Had to send my dinner ($63) back twice. Not even tablecloths. Was promised indoor ocean view, but that did not happen. My kids bought a $250 Hilton gift card for our 50th wedding anniversary so we could have a nice evening to celebrate. Hilton used to stand for excellence, but Serea was beyond disappointing. Service and food were mediocre. Everything was salty too. Avoid this restaurant. There are many better choices with a much better atmosphere, better food, and way lower prices. Never again!!
Fantastic food, service, and view.
Highly recommend this spot. Shoutout to our server Brett!
Shout out to the management at the hotel Del.
..Brett was an amazing server!! He described each entree appetizer, entree, and refreshment( cocktail) with great enthusiasm and such a positive attitude. Extremely attentive and thorough. Highly recommend this dining experience!!
Absolutely delicious breakfast!! With an amazing view.
They brew their coffee every 20 minutes. It's the best coffee I've ever had while at breakfast. The service is impeccable. Very friendly and attentive staff.
Nice Breakfast/Brunch Spot
We enjoyed breakfast/brunch here each morning as part of our stay package at the Hotel Del. Service was excellent and food was good. The Lobster Benedict I had the first morning was a treat, and loved the cucumber salad they served on the plates. The second morning we ordered the Cruffin which was on a completely different menu than the day before (weekday vs weekend?) Interesting is how I would describe it, like a popover. It was good, but just to taste it and move on.
Don’t go!!
Under construction with no water view!! Scaffolding above, green wrapped below around outside of restaurant With no water view!! Not what the website shows or discloses….. Don’t go!!
Very Good Dinner
We went for a nice family dinner while on vacation. Parking was a mess around the hotel, glad we planned extra time to make our reservation. Our table was ready when we got there & we were seated promptly. We had a very good waitstaff, attentive without being overbearing. We got a couple appetizers & drinks. Our waiter even told a story about eating octopus & convinced our older daughter to try it! Our main courses were very good. We asked for the lamb & the filet to be medium (but they looked a little closer to medium rare). Still had nice texture & excellent presentation. The filet could have used a little more seasoning (salt & pepper) to bring out the flavor a little more. The chicken was very flavorful & almost pull off the bone tender. Very good flavor for the lamb. The desserts were presented very well & tasty. Overall, great location, great staff, great presentation, delicious (if a little underwhelming) food. Pricey, but we’d go back again.
Great location and very good food
We went here for brunch while staying at The Del in Coronado. It was a mixed bag but with some minor improvements it could be great. The most important aspect is the food and thankfully Serea didn’t disappoint - both the food and drinks were delicious. The location and ambiance is also very very nice, right on the beach. The service was not so great - the wait was very long to get a table - in fact we walked around Coronado for over an hour until we could get in. Once we were seated, the waiting game continued! Wait for the server 15 minutes, wait for our drinks 15 minutes, wait for our food 30 minutes, wait wait and wait some more!! The server was nice but also extremely pushy and trying really hard to oversell. I can truly say I have never seen in my lifetime any server ever trying to convince patrons to order so much stuff and to upsell as much as the server at Serea - and it was uncomfortable and annoying. The last thing were the chairs and their stupid cushions. Come on Serea - you are charging $28 for Eggs Benny - you can’t afford better chairs and cushions?? These wooden chairs were so uncomfortable and the pillows which were supposed to be tied to the chair kept pushing through the gaps in the back of the chairs and falling on the ground. It was hilarious at first because it happened to every single guest and were picking each others pillows and handing it to the right person , trying to tie them back on , etc - but after waiting an eternity for the drinks and food the uncomfortable chairs really got to us. With a few small changes this could be such a great place to eat, but as it is now…not sure I’d visit again - the pressure from the servers is enough to keep me away
Great food and views
This is great for a special night out, it’s fairly expensive but the food was excellent, service very prompt and friendly. Clean and comfortable table on front patio with great view overlooking the beach and ocean. Great spot.
