Exceptional Luxury
Maybe the best Omakase service on the west coast, without question the best in Vegas. We had the honor of a dinner there last night which we will never forget. The atmosphere is out of a Kubrick film set - austere, sublime, uncomplicated luxury, where nothing is permitted to interfere with the cuisine. The fish, most of which is daily flown in from various Japanese regional ports, well, its unlike anything you have ever tasted. And that doesnโt include the grade 5 Wagyu, the best best thing not attached to a human body that I have ever put in my mouth. A truly luxurious experience. Do not miss a chance to check this box.

High quality, delicious, authentic, fresh, Japanese meal. The portions are smaller, but we didnโt care. We wanted bite sized quality tasting menu and thatโs what we got. Wonderful service too. Definitely recommend.
Be the first to ReplyA MUST If You Love Sushi
Wow. This was my second time dining at Yui and the experience is incredible. Nestled in a strip mall between a few massage parlors and a tire shop is a GEM. The Wagu beef is fantastic as is the entire experience. Best rice ever. You'll never look at sushi the same way again.

The quality is excellent and I went here for my birthday and again with my family for my moms birthday. Itโs more of a special occasion sushi place due to the high price tag of the omakase courses. When I moved to Vegas from NYC, I had been looking for a good high end sushi restaurant in Vegas (thatโs not a chain and not on the strip) that was comparable to the sushi restaurants in NYC. I believe the only have omakase as an option and there are a few different levels of omakase. I always order the omakase with the steak.

Having been to many Japanese restaurants all over the world and in Japan I feel qualified to rate this restaurant. The restaurant does have the feeling of a traditional omakase in Japan although slightly more modern interior. However the food does not live up to the price tag. I cannot argue with the quality of the ingredients however I felt short changed on the cuts of sashimi and the sushi servings were also very small. When in Japan you will be amazed by how large the fish is in comparison with the rice compared with western restaurants. This place takes it to a new extreme however. The sushi itself also I found lacking as the rice was too warm which is definitely a mistake. This guy is not a 2 star Michelin sushi master for sure however the prices are at that level. The service was also a little rushed although they were polite. Dessert also not impressed as it felt like it had come straight from the fridge although I wasn't here for the dessert. I left hungry as I didn't want to order another tiny tuna nigiri portion ranging from $8-16 depending on the cut. Place could easily be improved with slightly larger fish portions and a few tweaks here and there. Cliffs: good quality in places but basically a rip off with questionable atmosphere.

People work behind the sushi bar can not make sure all the sushi is clean. Cheat customer with high price, low quantity. The quality of food is there, the cost of food is lower than 10%. Never eat the sushi with this bad experience. Only good service is not enough. Damn!

I have been here several times over the past few years, and must recommend against patronizing this restaurant. This last (and final visit) was an overt exercise in being shown what kind of customer this restaurant does not want. We were shown to our seats, which among four total customers including us, meant being seated at the far end of the sushi bar along side the only other two customers. When we asked to be seated a seat or two away, we were told no, everything was reserved, so we had to sit right next to the only two other customers in the place. Within minutes, two other couples arrived and go to sit away from us (i.e, the four customers who were not of Japanese descent.) We ordered the most expensive ($210 a person) omakase plus a bottle of sake, and could not help but notice that at least four of the courses were exactly the same as in the less expensive omakase courses ordered among diners. We were also "shooshed" by the owner/main chef as we were discussing the meal, and ultimately moved to an exit room before our last course. When we asked why, the server said it was because it was a room for people who wanted to have an end of the night cocktail. Yet, there was no one there to serve cocktails. We were clearly not liked, treated like second class garbage, seated among other English speaking people who look like they speak English, and generally received mediocre quality food that simply had a higher price tag than the exact same food on the exact same menu. I cannot recommend this restaurant, will not go back, and would highly recommend that anyone who believes in equal treatment not go here.

We visited Yui on our anniversary and I loved the experience but my husband was not as impressed. He felt that for the quantity it was very expensive and that there are better options in Las Vegas for the same value. But I must say he does not eat meat, therefor missing out on the incredible Wagyu and has the smaller menu. I really liked this restaurant and would definitely go there again so I do highly recommend for the sushi connoisseur as it is a unique experience for a special occasion. Be prepared for at least a two hour dining experience and go with an open mind to tasting creative dishes you will find only here.

If you want some great quality sushi - head to Yui's, 95% of everything we ate was above and beyond. The restaurant is quaint, decor is basic - but classy. We ordered the $210pp omakase, which started with a beautiful apertif champagne poured into a lit up iced bowl under a glass. Presentation was perfect! Then followed the different courses. It was beautiful watching the chefs work their magic, and one presentation after another wow us. Some favorite cuts: - Oh toro: by far my most favorite, ended up ordering more. It literally just melts in your mouth, amazing! - Uni: suuuuper fresh, just the right texture - Shioko: first time having baby yellowtail, really good! - Botan Ebi: ever so slightly sweet, chewy, delicious - Ainame: texture and taste were both perfect - Nodoguro: ordered by suggestion from chef. White fish, light and refreshing Not so favorites: - Awabi:came cooked, underwhelming - Hotate: not as soft and buttery as I'm used to for scallops? - Ikura: very basic The grilled portion of the meal, felt the king crab leg was also underwhelming in flavor, as well as the shrimp head. The Wagyu beef was amazing though as was the snapper. Also had a caviar with toro which was also amazing in the mixture of flavors. Lastly, dessert was not too sweet, and a perfect way to end the meal. The ice cream comes with ground brown rice skin powdered on top - creative and delicious touch. I'm not sure the meal was worth the amount it cost - extremely pricey, though good, not 100% was good.

Had no idea what to expect going off Strip to a strip mall but wife and I were adventurous and ready to give Yui a try. The first thing to know, this place is not about being flashy, it is about the food, and the food is amazing. Simply put, this was the best sushi we ever had. Every fish just had an amazingly deep flavor and texture that normal everyday sushi does not have. The deep meatiness of the tuna, the flavor of the yellow tail and the buttery flavor and texture of the fatty tuna was all next level. Also got to check off the bucket list Japanese A5 beef from the cow Takaro who had her own social security number from Japan. Wanted to try this beef for well over a decade and it was SO good. The amazing thing is that nothing was bad. Everything was either very good or exceptional, and unlike most fancy restaurants where you might get five to eight dishes, this was six courses with 20 or so different items and they all were great. They also didnโt have their flavors masked by sauces or seasoning. Either the fish is amazing or it isnโt, and this fish was simply amazing. My tip for this place is, you can get the homemade grapefruit sake by the glass, we thought it was the perfect compliment for the dinner because it was cold, light and refreshing so we kept ordering it. Really good.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing! I walked in by myself without a reservation.
Decided to have dinner before driving home from a conference. Luckily they were able to accommodate me as I arrived just before their 6 pm opening without a reservation. There is no menu just 3 levels of Omakase which comes with a shot of homemade sake. $120, $160 or $210+. I picked the mid tier and they brought out house made apple cider as I don't drink. Appetizers were a mixed bag from incredible to fishy liver. A tiny crab was flash fried for a crunch bite. The rest was astounding. Different bites of Sashimi, tiny sushi and some cooked elements. The 2 bites of Wagu beef were sublime, then they brought out the pedigree/birth certificate for the yummy little cow. It even has a nose print! I was completely stuffed and wowed!
