My wife and I went out for dinner for the first time since
My wife and I went out for dinner for the first time since having a child. We were excited to spend time together and agreed to push the budget and try somewhere fancy. When the bill came we decided to get a divorce and sell our house. Food: Very limited vegetarian options (3 in total...look out). Ordered the crispy eggplant and yolk but couldn't eat more than 2 pieces. The combined disco of cornflower and oil started a fight in my stomach. $32 for two bites. If you're on a diet I'd recommend this dish as a reminder not to eat fried food. It's also a good way to slim down your wallet. The entree was 2x standard cocktail spring rolls. No fancy filling, no garnish. At $12 I could have bought 3 bags from Spud Shed. My wife and I sold our jewellery to an elderly couple at the next table. Service: Ordered drinks that never came. Later tried our luck and asked for a bottle of water. Come time to pay the bill found out it was $10. I should have kept the bottle and sold it on ebay. Someone sold a chip in the shape of Elvis once, sadly this was just a normal bottle with tap water in it. If you're feeling thirsty I'd try and sneak a few sips from the toilet and hope they don't charge you for it. Ambiance: The lights were dim. So dim apparently that the wait staff couldn't see us trying to get their attention. We politely locked eyes and smiled at every server like we were recruiting for a cult. They all looked through us. I began to suspect we died at some point and were now ghosts haunting the table. All in all we left more hungry than we arrived but $100 down. As we sold the last of our possessions to a homeless man in the carpark we began to remember why we don't leave the house. As my stomach digested the hefty combination of 1x spring roll, 2x bites of fried eggplant and 20ml of water I felt lucky to have shared the experience with my soon to be ex-wife and looked forward to never trying new things again. If you're looking for a dimly lit restuarant that charges fees for merely existing this is the place for you. An upchuck away from Crown casino and just as fund draining. The food will make you grateful there's a pack of Jatz in your cupboard.

Relatively empty because of CoVID-19. Individual serves. No trolleys. Fine dining yum cha.

Eight of us went for dinner yesterday night as part of father's day celebration. We entered the restaurant with high expectations and apart from customer service and ambience, overall experience was disappointed. The biggest downfall was the quality of food which was way below average, overpriced and sub-standard. None of the 8 dishes we ordered WOW us ! While nicely presented, it is bland and for the price, there are definitely other better options.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome fine dining experience.
The food, presentation and decor were great. I particularly loved the peking duck roll and the steamed fish. Don't forget to give their dessert a try too. We had tried each one in the dessert menu and all of them were lovely! Personal favourite was the green tea cake.Service was good, but somehow lacking. Sometimes we would still need to ask to get our teas refilled. It could be an area they can work on.Otherwise, it's a good option if you want to splurge for a Chinese feast!

Stayed here for about a week and went here a couple of times. I can't say enough about the food. For sure try the roasted pork belly and fried rice. We tried pretty much everything on the menu with zero complaints. So why the 3 stars...service. The service was terrible. Slow, unfriendly and never the same person. An example - we ordered a nice bottle of wine. While delivering one of the dishes to our table, a waiter knocked the bottle over and all over my lap. A good half the bottle. What did they do! ย It was obvious that they waiter felt bad. A simple apology and then nothing. No one came over with napkins. I sat there in my red wine puddle before I had to ask for some. And a new chair. And a new table cloth. By that time they left me with the feeling that this was my fault. And no compensation at all. My partner had to ask about it after the bill came. The next time we went (yes - the food was that good that we went back) again the service was slow. By the end of the meal we had a pile of dirty dishes and no one clearing them out. Everyone disappeared. Pretty frustrating.

We rang to say we were going to be late but when we arrived they told us that the kitchen was shut!I made a comment that it would have been nice to have someone ring us.. we were just outside when I got a call to say that she spoke to the chef and if we ordered quickly we could come back. We decided to give them another go.They don't have much of a dim sum selection.. and they're pretty pricey. As for the taste, the BBQ pork buns were alright, so were the scallop dumplings, the siu mai, steamed fish and chicken rice. All in all it was pretty average for such pricey food but I suppose you're paying for the location. Not sure I would be back tho..

Me and my partner got a voucher for Crown for our engagement and decided to try somewhere different and chose Silks. I hadn't heard the best reviews but wanted to try it out for myself and must say I wasnt really that impressed. There has been a lot of thought into the decor of the place, and it does look amazing but the service ย and the price for the dishes wasn't worth it in my personal opinion. They did try really hard with the service but it was just a bit underwhelming. One of the waiters had the worst body odour which I could smell every time he leaned over me. We went with two other friends and ordered a really expensive bottle of champagne, and in my opinion with the price of this, along with the style of the restaurant, we thought they may at least pore up our first glass, but they just left it on the table and we had to serve our self and ask for an ice bucket. My partner asked three times for a glass of water which never came, and then when we ordered another bottle of white wine, the questioned us on this. The lady made a comment about our dinner being over soon and that we wouldn't need a whole bottle, and when my partner requested that we did, she gave him a look of shock and just walked away. I have no idea why they wouldn't want us spending more money and so we were extremely put off by this. Now the food.... We ordered a number of share dishes and it was nice food, but for the price and size of what you got I didn't think it was worth it. I left feeling hungry. Bit of a shame really, and felt like we wasted our voucher and should have gone somewhere we knew would be good. I wouldn't be recommending this place to other people but maybe we just had a bad night as all the other reviews on Yelp are very positive.

My Partner and I came here for the first time for our anniversary Dinner last year, as we have tried a few of the restaurants in the casino we thought we would try Chinese. The restaurant itself is lovely, and the staff are very friendly and helpful as well which is always a plus for a night meal out. The menu was your ordinary/traditional chinese food you will find on any chinese take out, however it is much nicer and more pleasant to eat than the norm chinese take out. We started off having an entree of spring rolls each, which only came out as 1 peice each but it was just melt in your For mains We had a few different plates to share, we got the duck in plum sauce, lemon chicken and fried & steamed rice, the meat was just enough on the plate if not some extra for 2 people, wasnt dry or chewy, cooked to perfection, wasnt drenched in the sweet sauces so i was happy about that. Then we finished off with dessert and it was OK, i love to finish my meals out with a dessert and i guess i expect them to be amazing. I cant remember exactly what they were called it was about a year ago i went. I know that my partners was a black sesame type dessert and it probably wasnt the best dessert for someone who wouldnt be a 'foodie' however it was presented nicely. I had something similar and it was nice not overly sweet but it wasnt the best dessert. I would go again, but i would try other places out before going a second time.
Be the first to ReplyI love going here.
Ambience/decor - I usually don't like booking to a restaurant but I do here because I love getting the booth seats. They offer an intimate and comfortable dining experience for couples out on a special night. The place is opulent looking and comfortably spaced in terms of seating. The cutlery, plates were absolutely pristine when they first opened (obviously), but now some of the gold edging on the plates are noticeably beginning to wear off. Still, this is a very minor thing.Food - Yes it is pricey but for me represents good value for what you can get in Perth otherwise (in the context of 'Perth prices'). If you were to compare this to prices paid overseas a meal of similar skill and quality, then, yes of course it would be considered way over-priced. The dim sim is of beautiful quality and well prepared. Good flavours. I've found the executive lunches very good value. In my experience the food has only on the rare occasion been a little too oily. There is usually a good balance. I really love how the desserts are light and not overtly sweet.Drink - For tea and water- this is where I think there is a bit of cheeky price gouging going on in comparison to prices paid at other establishments across Perth for similar. These are over-priced for what they are. The cocktails and mocktails are lovely however and I would pay that price for them.Service - I have never had an issue here. Waitstaff are generally unobtrusive and polite. Orders are taken on time and food also arrives in a timely manner. I have never felt rushed or pushed to hurry. They are also rather tolerant to serving you when you have simply walked in on the spur of the moment. I have had the unfortunate experience at many other places of staff showing distinct irritation when that has occurred. This has never occurred here.I don't expect too much when it comes to service, merely that both orders are taken and food comes out in a timely manner and the person is polite. I don't particularly require finishing details such as small talk and recommendations (although this is nice). I have a standard of service I expect to get in Perth (and it is what I listed above), but generally Perth's service standards are substandard on an international scale. The best part of things is I have never, ever left feeling hungry.Satisfaction!

This is an old review of a Chinese New Year freebie! But it was so good I wanted to include it. Because I actually came for lunch to eat at another place in this complex, and went past on the way having seen they had a free Prosperity Toss which I was dying to try. My Chinese friends had told me briefly about this traditional practice of mixing and lifting your noodles high with family and friends to help boost prosperity, so it sounded like fun!!This version had the usual vegies finely shredded and mixed, with egg and they added a gorgeous smoked salmon with the most delicate plum sauce I've ever had. The noon schedule was actually when they started bringing out ingredients so unfortunately for me, even being the first one there, hordes of very rude and pushy old Chinese people came and slowly elbowed me out. But the very lovely chef saw this and when it came time to eat, the rude oldies just grabbed the most expensive foods in piles and stopped others from getting any by standing in the way. So the chef quickly grabbed a plate and managed to get it to me with a big smile, without injury! The dish was stunning - very delicate and fresh with gorgeous flavours and textures as they added some deep fried noodle shaped crouton. I so appreciated this move by the watchful chef, and thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely have great Chinese dishes.
They make very beautiful dim sum! But because of the price I will prefer go to Chinese restaurant for yum tea as they provide more choices in lower prices.
