Amazing dishes! A very inventive menu.
I particularly like their eggplant dishes. Top notch and classy.
Be the first to ReplyTheir food quality is excellent.
The owner also owns a butcher shop, so their adana kebap and lahmacun is top notch. You must have pumkin desert (seasonal) out of this world

We had dinner for 4 friends , i was not expecting it will be as good as 3 years ago but i was wrong . Thanks to new management to keep the quality same as before . Manager himself took care of us all night long . Hot yoghurt soup , Shepard salad and kebabs was extremely delicious . we will visit soon again . Thanks to manager Burak and all the cooks.
Be the first to ReplyFood was simple.
It's not a high end restaurant but Overpriced for sure. Music was a bit loud. The staff always talked among themselves.

It is way too expensive for small to medium-sized portions/starters. Compared to their new location in Astoria Queens they are bigger in size and more expensive. While the food was good, we don't think we will return. We ended up paying over $100, which simply is not worth the value or quality of the meal

Asiret kebap house is the new restaurant that replaces Sipsak which was the reason for my visit. Too bad they no longer serve simit like the previous restaurant. Among the things we had, the red lentils soup and the two appetizers, ezme (tomato/pepper minced) and piyaz (white bean salad) were good. The falafel was very greasy. The staff were friendly and gave us Turkish tea and mussel baklava as treats. Definitely reminded us of our recent trip to Turkey.

My girlfriend and I stopped by to try out the local New York dining. This restaurant made my first time in New York extremely special. This is some of the best customer service I've ever experience at a restaurant. The food was amazing and we did not want to waste a bite. This is my new favorite place and I will be back!

We stopped by when we came to visit a friend at the Turkish House. It has a rich menu compared to many Turkish restaurants in New York. We wanted to try manti, but it was out of stock. We ordered mousakka, chicken shish and shepherd's salad. Everything was delicious. Although the restaurant manager was aggressive and rude, the staff were friendly and helpful. It has a bright, spacious ambiance.

Been wanting to try this ever since I saw pics of their manti and finally did. Manti is simply a Turkish take on beef dumplings. For those that haven't had it, the closest thing this resembles is Russian pelmeni. It's almost as if the two cultures couldn't agree on yogurt or sour cream so they said eff it, we're manti and you're pelmeni. The verdict: very good, but Italian ravioli/tortellini is still the champ.
Be the first to ReplyLovely meal with very attentive service.
. found that Turkish wine and food is delicious

The original owner passed away before covid but the new owners are doing a good job. Just wish they had better salads and would bring back fresh lemonade. Everyone who has the lamb shank is happy. The stuffed cabbage maybe could be improved.

Uprofessional and rude management!I have a dog that I enjoy taking to restaurants with me. The first time I brought him to this particular restaurant, nobody said anything, and we had a pleasant lunch. However, the second time I visited, the manager informed me that only service dogs were allowed inside. I acknowledged their policy and left without causing any issues.Last night, I visited the same restaurant again (without my dog) and saw a girl with her dog inside. I called the manager to ask if they had changed their policy regarding dogs, and he told me that dogs were only allowed if they were service dogs. I asked if he had confirmed the other dog's service ID, and he told me that they were not allowed to ask that. This confused me because if they were allowed to ask me if my dog is a service dog, then it only makes sense to check for ID to confirm. It appeared this rule applied to some people but not others. I expressed my concern about this inconsistency and told him that people also could easily be dishonest about their dog's status. Instantly, he became rude and told me that it was my responsibility to be honest about my dog, which felt unfair. Overall, while the food was ok, I was disappointed with the manager's behavior. It seemed as though the restaurant's policies were not consistently applied, and I can see why the establishment has received low reviews.

Wow - Delicious! Sip Sak is one of those special finds you stumble into on vacation - but you're on vacation in New York! Relaxing, intimate space with authentic, amazing generous portions, and unbeatably sweet service. You won't be disappointed!

Best Turkish food ever! All our choices were PERFECT and delicious. All the staff, including chef and the new boss were gracious. We had the liver, eggplant salad and Adana kabab which were all very tasty and wonderfully presented. We decided to visit this perfect ambiance at least once a week.

As good or better than I remembered. Had the lentil soup, Shepard's salad, and the braised lamb on the eggplant puree. It was terrific, and I normally hate eggplant. For dessert, I had the rice pudding, which was creamy and delicious.

Be the first to Replythis place is as bad as the owner.
. food is just ok, nothing special. everytime we pass by, the place always looked empty, dark, and Old. i hope someone else take over the place and give us a nicer option.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a sad and average place.
I hate giving bad reviews but there was nothing remarkable about the food or service. Complimentary bread wasWarm and delicious but nothing else was.Service was terrible. The server, who I believe is the owner, was super grouchy and inhospitable. He served as though customers were an inconvenience.I was to see a Turkish restaurant in my neighborhood but this place is not worth it!!! Terrible service. The owner needs to wake up and realize that his diners are paying for quality food and service and he missed the mark. What a disappointment!

It's a great Restaurant with the nicest staff and the food was amazing ! I recommend Sip Sak too All ! Great Portions and beautiful presentation .
Be the first to ReplyI'm not sure why the review is so low.
My boyfriend is from Turkey, and we have been on a search for delicious turkish food for years now. We've tried restaurants at every price point in SF, LA, NY, London, etc. THIS place is the best he has ever had outside of Istanbul. He even said it would give chefs back home a run for their money. We haven't been for the last 6 months (moved out of the country), but think about it often. We haven't been able to find a similar quality Turkish restaurant on the west coast at all.
Be the first to ReplyI am so glad to have this restaurant nearby my home.
They are offering delivery and also Sip Sak has great ambiance if you want to dine in. The service is very good. They have Authentic Turkish food, I almost tried every meal in the menu but I espeacially liked the appetizers; hummus, stuffed bulgur kofte(minced meat and walnuts) , liver (best!), salads, borek, and artichoke. For the main dish; okra with lamb, braised tender beef short ribs and Ali Nazik. At the end order almond pudding and Turkish Coffee!

While this place is probably as authentically Turkish as I'm authentically Indian, the food is tasty no matter how you characterize it. Try the Grilled Portuguese Octopus (Portuguese?) for savory, tangy protein. The cream soup--I forget the exact name--was also delicious, as were the meatballs. Not sure why, but they offered us a complimentary rice pudding dessert to finish off our meal. No complaints, though, as it was delicious. Service was otherwise lovely, and the warm, dark interiors should make any date night full of vibes.
Be the first to ReplyFood is good, but not spectacular for sure.
ย I understand it is New York but very overpriced. ย Iskender with Adana kebap was really off. Yogurt had bad taste. Baklava is horrible. Rice pudding is also average. Bread was the best of all. Still looking for good yaprak doner , so anyone knows please suggest.

Had dinner tonight it was all ย good, had the eggplant salad, lentel soup, lamb and rice and rice pudding. They were all flavorful and delicious. Also, Gluten Free I have an allergy and they were extremely care with my food and making sure I was happy with the meal. Ambiance was nice, low lighting good clean decor. Bathroom was small but clean. Bar was good for the size restaurant. I would 100% go back and give it as a suggestion to my friends.
