My husband and I were having a date night and had never been to an STK before. We had a reservation for 6pm on a Thursday night. We got there on time, and the hostess greeted us and started to lead us to a booth towards the back of the restaurant. It was right under a speaker that was blaring rap music. There's no way we would have been able to hold a conversation. We asked her if she would pls find us another table in a quieter area. She did take us to another booth at the front of the restaurant. The music was still loud but not as much as in the back. So we sat close to each other. I ordered a Cosmopolitan on the sweet side, and my husband had an Arnold Palmer. I didn't request , nor was I asked for any specific brand of vodka for my Cosmo. I later learned they made it and charged me top dollar for a Titos Cosmo. I just requested it to be on the sweet side. When I got my Cosmo, it was not on the sweet side. It was immediately taken back to the bar and replaced with a Cosmo more to more liking. There were no napkins served as coasters under the drinks. None of the tables had tableclothes on them. We ordered 2 entrees: a shrimp cocktail, which was great, and a red king crab leg, which was so disappointing. We forgot to ask ahead of time how much the market price on the crab leg was, which was over $70. It was the smallest amount of crab I've ever seen. We also ordered the truffle fries, which were awesome. They do serve a complimentary, delicious baked bread with butter. We ordered the sea bass and a ten ounce filet minion. I was asked if I would like a special sauce for my filet, and I said sure. It was delicious. They made it tableside, which I realized at that point meant big bicks ($29). We ordered a piece of cheese cake to share for desert, which was no big deal. It was so very loud in the restaurant between the music and talking that it was hard to hear over. Our check was over $425 with a 20% tip included. It's scary how quickly it can all add up. The moral of the story is always, always ask how much something is going to be before agreeing to it. I think we were a bit on the old side for this restaurant whose motto is "Not Your Dad's Steak House!" The decor was a mix between Modern Asian and Bettlejuice. I don't think we'll be going back.
