Got the premium set, A5 wagyu, and miso soup.
The fish (especially salmon - absolute melt in your mouth), uni, and wagyu were delightful. They use real wasabi root which is really important for me and shows me that you care about the details. Got so lucky with the walk in (make a reso if you want to eat there) and the ambience was so intimate and pleasant because the service staff were so friendly. A true 10/10 restaurant for me and will easily become my go to solo dining spot for a pick-me-up or as a personal reward.
Be the first to ReplyThis is my favorite sushi spot in Manhattan.
It's intimate, only about 4 seats inside, with some space outside. Extremely well priced and fresh, their uni is amazing as well as the fatty toro special roll with pickled radish. There are no cocktails here, the focus is on the fish. It's a great spot to bring a friend or family member to show off what the N.Y.C. food scene has to offer and it's close enough to Washington Square that it's worth it to grab takeout if there's no seating.
Be the first to ReplyMy first impression: Decent, but not my favorite.
Sushi was slightly smaller compared to other sushi places that are selling similar sushi sets/prices. There was more rice than fish. I would give it another try but a different set (wasn't a fan of the toro taku roll).
Be the first to ReplyThis was such an amazing experience, truly.
I have been to Nobu and I would choose Sushi 295 over it EVERY SINGLE TIME. The staff is amazing, the fish is amazing, I am so glad we stumbled upon it because it will be my husband and I's go to from here on out. Amazing staff, and amazing fish, WOW!!
Be the first to ReplyI thought the price of the food was fair.
Ordered takeout through DD. The presentation could have been better but that might the nature of delivery. Got the sushi premium and the spicy tuna avocado roll. enjoyed the rolls but the sushi piece were only okay. Wouldn't call it affordable omakase quality but should say it's above the average sushi place. Probably would recommend more of the rolls. The sushi piece didn't feel that great quality

4.5 stars rounded up to 5. Good quality and I'll say good value by Manhattan standards though not inexpensive. I enjoyed the 36.95 sushi regular lunch special which was delivered on time.
Be the first to ReplyAmazingly good.
Tiny seating area (bar that seats 4 max)....so not the most ideal but once seated, everyone is super nice. Sushi was really good. Clearly the word is out because their takeout and delivery business seemed non stop.

Most intimate omakase experiences i have had! Only seats 3 but they do tons of take out orders all night. Got varieties of sashimi and rolls. The fish tasted very fresh. Perfect for a low key night but reservations are super limited!

Super fresh and melts in your mouth sushi! Good value for $38. Ordered to-go and it was finished pretty fast. They still make your order on the omakase counter in front of you even for takeout, so you can see them make every piece fresh.

Hands down some of the best sushi we have had in the city! This is a small and quaint spot, there are only 4 seats so you absolutely must make a reservation if you plan to eat in. I saw a ton of takeout orders coming out while we were eating. The chefs were phenomenal. We got the sushi for two, and every single piece of sushi was excellent. The uni was some of the best I have had- so fresh and creamy, no bitter after taste. The eel was phenomenal, you can tell they use quality ingredients. The toro was melt in your mouth buttery! I cannot wait to come back. The scallop also melted on your palate. Chefs were so friendly too.
Be the first to ReplyPlaced an order in advance for take out.
Ordered the sushi regular. It was already ready by the time I got there. The place is very small so I'm glad I ordered for takeout. The fish was very fresh and juicy. I'd def stop by again and order other boxes or even dine in. Washington square Park is nearby if you're looking for public seating.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is great, it's almost a sushi speakeasy.
They have a counter for 4 if you want to go in but be mindful it's BYOB and has no bathroom onsite but it's an hour so you should be able to make it through. The sushi is fantastic, the quality of the fish is awesome and the chef has worked at Nobu and Masa previously. Definitely make a reservation if you plan to go but ordering to go / or delivery it's also fantastic and the pricing is also great.
Be the first to ReplyBEST SUSHI I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!!! I've been eating sushi
BEST SUSHI I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!!! I've been eating sushi since I was probably five years old, and this is the best I've ever had. The service is amazing as well. The sushi literally melts in your mouth. We did the omakase for 55 a person, and it was completely worth it. The uni was the best piece I had but every single thing was absolutely delicious.

Got two 3 roll boxes and was so pleasantly surprised with the quality of the fish. The salmon was absolutely delicious, some of the best quality sushi I've had in Manhattan. The yellowtail jalapeño was also great. They included ponzu and soy without me asking, and the ponzu was a really nice touch and complemented the yellowtail beautifully So grateful this place opened up across the street!!! Looking forward to getting take out from here multiple times a week!

This restaurant only seats 4, but it is some of the most spectacular sushi I've ever had! Anytime I'm in the area, i will make a stop by!
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best sushi restaurants I've been to in NY.
High quality, beyond reasonable and the staff is so sweet and accommodating. Ordered the sushi regular which comes with 8 pieces of nigiri and a salmon roll but I subbed for spicy tuna roll. Also, got the spicy scallop roll, which was delish! Highly recommend!

Amazing spot for take out sushi, but tbh I've dined in both times haha! It's great quality at a very reasonable price, and as good quality sushi goes, cheaper and better than other spots that offer the same thing. It's small, so you might have to wait a little bit after you place the order, but they're really sweet. My top choices are def the Yellowtail Jalapeño, and the Salmon Ikura don. Really delicious!

Incredible fish of great quality, incredible owner, all for an incredible price. Would highly highly recommend the sushi premium set.
Be the first to ReplyOur only delivery spot going forward.
Absolutely fantastic delivery/pickup spot. It's always hard finding the right balance with high end sushi delivery, because in my opinion it's not always worth spending $100-$200 from the Omakase bars. You're better dining in person there. But this place hits the sweet spot because it's under $50 and you get the fish quality, rice, and chef skills of an Omakase style bar. Rolls are 10/10, premium nigiri is great, really everything was
