The most fun and engaging Omakase you'll ever experience.
Talk about fun, raunchy and in your face . One hour experience without having to worry about behavior, matter of fact, the staff wants you to be loud and let loose. I've been to many Omakse around the $100 range but nowhere is this much fun. If you haven't experienced Sushi On Me then shame on you. I applaud the staff there for coming up with a party Omakase concept and I can't wait to be back. In closing, forget your mild mannered Omakase and just let it loose here or at their Brooklyn location.

I was so happy with this place, it was better than I expected. I got treated here on my birthday. The place is super hidden, it's on a busy block, but in the basement with no signs. Even their door was entirely black, so you had no idea what you were walking into. (+) very cool neon lights and interior (+) good music, felt like I was in a club vs a sushi spot (+) free unlimited sake was nice (+) all the omakase pieces were fresh, unique, and meshed together perfectly like a piece of art (-) parking was horrible, try to take the train! Definitely going back!

This place deserve everything! The best experience ever! Honestly the best restaurant I ever been to. The service was impeccable, the workers are so fun and made the night so memorable. The food was pretty good they added their own little touch to it and with unlimited sake who wouldn't be happy. Will def be coming back :))
Be the first to ReplyThere's a reason this place has nearly 5 stars.
I truly felt like I was hanging out and partying with a bunch of my friends - the staff here do hospitality well! It's a 15 course omakase and each thing is uniquely flavorful. One of my favorites was the salmon belly - it melts in your mouth. I also really loved that some of the courses included a little interactive element to it. Another plus is they give unlimited sake with your meal and they are not stingey with refilling your cup! The staff were all amazing and made sure everyone had everything they needed. They curated the playlist too and even brought out a mic for some mini karaoke! If you loudly sing along to any of the songs, I'm pretty sure they'll bring it out and hand it to you! When we got seated, I was a little nervous about the spacing of the seats (you're basically sitting at a bar side-by-side with everyone) but it turned out okay and probably lent to a cozier feel. There are also hooks on the side where you can hang coats in the winter. Probably the most fun I'll have at any omakase and I will 100% come back
Be the first to ReplyI think I want all celebratory meals to be at Sushi on Me
I think I want all celebratory meals to be at Sushi on Me from now on. I loved my experience here so much. I'm here to join the 5-star brigade and to keep up Sushi On Me's much-deserved 5 star rating on Yelp after nearly 300 reviews. I'd come hungry and prepare to be wowed (and a little sauced). By the end of the omakase, everyone was singing to Britney Spears. It's that kind of place. Gene L. put it well when he said that this experience is "just as much immersive theater as a restaurant meal." The guys behind the counter start the party and keep it going with their banter, excellent pop music, opportunities for karaoke, and celebratory energy. I thought the sushi here was beautifully prepared. I enjoyed every course. There was a gorgeous panang curry dish and uni on bread, the memories of which I will take with me wherever I go. There's unlimited sake here as well which is topped off frequently. Cost per diner is $100 in cash, tip excluded. Come here anytime if you just want to celebrate. You deserve it.
Be the first to ReplyBEST dining experience I've had in a long time! This was
BEST dining experience I've had in a long time! This was my first omakase and it's gonna be very hard to top. Speakeasy vibes, amazing service, FUN, FUN, FUN! The staff does a great job keeping you entertained from start to finish. The head chef Palm is so nice and personable, and his menu creations taste as good as they look. My favorites were the Scallop sushi with truffle and wasabi & the Salmon belly which warm and spicy They have great theatrics such as Weed smoke & Rosemary bubbles that they immerse onto the dishes. Music is blasting all night and unlimited saki is flowing. Cash only, a little pricey but worth it. Reservations a must
Be the first to ReplyQuite literally one of the greatest dining experiences I
Quite literally one of the greatest dining experiences I have ever had in my entire life. The food was beyond delicious and prepared with care. The presentation was so flamboyant that it would put most shows and plays to shame. The space was cozy & intimate. The chefs and staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable. Unlimited sake. Truly a one of a kind, memory making experience that can't be missed and is definitely worth the price.

Easily 5 stars!! Booked a private room for friends bday and had the whole restaurant to ourselves with live music. Each omakase piece was unique and tasted very fresh! Unlimited sake and very friendly staff. Must book well in advanced - hard to get Resy, esp the whole the place as it only seats like 12 total. Was around $100 per person plus tax and tips.
Be the first to ReplyThis was one of the best dinners I've had in a very long
This was one of the best dinners I've had in a very long time...maybe ever? We came with a large group and took up almost the entire restaurant. It was basically a private dining experience + the poor couple sitting next to us lol The staff here is sooo fun and genuinely love what they do. They MADE the experience for us. I thought that the place might be gimmicky but the sushi was surprisingly high quality.
Be the first to ReplyWow what a fun, delicious, and totally cool, updated
Wow what a fun, delicious, and totally cool, updated omakase experience. This 12 chair sushi restaurant is located down an unassuming staircase and has major speakeasy vibes. The atmosphere is fun, music pumping, unlimited sake, and impeccable service by chefs and a host that know how to have fun. I came here for my husband's 40th birthday and our first date night after having a baby. It didn't disappoint. The 18 course omakase sushi was not only delicious, it was fun, and beautifully plated. My husband and I enjoyed each course and the unlimited saki. We will for sure be back. Club sushi vibes!!

... AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband and I went to celebrate his birthday. It exceeded our expectations!!! We were a total of 10 people in our evening and they all made us feel comfortable. In between our meal, we began to sing karaoke. BEST TIME EVER! let me say, I don't know how to sing but after 10 sake shots I took the mic into my hands. BTW the sake is free!!!!! Highly recommend. Everyone is nice and friendly!!! You will have a blast. It is cash only. As of 01/07/2023 we paid 98 per person plus tax which was about 216 for two. Plus we gave a generous tip because the servers were unforgettable!!!! Trust me, you want to try this place out!!!!!! Not only is the seafood fresh and delicious, the place is amazing!!!!
Be the first to ReplyI love the atmosphere and the vibe from the staff.
The sushi pieces are very fresh. They have a 15 prefix course for $89. It's hard to find a decent omakase spot for this price. I really enjoyed the interaction from their chefs with the customers. This place is cash only and you can make a reservation on their website. They have house sake, which made the experience even better.

First and foremost, dinner at Sushi On Me is just a ton of FUN!. On top of that, you get a delicious, affordable, and fresh take on omakase. I've been wanting to try Sushi On Me for a while now, and finally snagged reservations for the 5:00pm seating on a Wed. The meal was 15 courses, all delicious, and I loved the fact that Thai flavors that would occasionally make an appearance (the chefs are Thai). Sake flows freely, and the team behind the counter really know how to create a really fun and enjoyable experience. My recommendation: make a reservation and go as soon as you can!
Be the first to ReplyI've been recently coming to terms with the incredulous
I've been recently coming to terms with the incredulous pace at which I've been getting priced out of omakase experiences in New York. Fine, inflation is real. But this trend of world class omakase dinners going from costing a few hundred dollars to well into the hundreds has been disheartening, to say the least. By far the saddest part has been the rise of $100-200 omakase spots that provide a mediocre attempt at what the $300-400 spots offer. Close, but no cigar (okay, it's really not that close). I like to think that expensive restaurants are more about providing a full fledged experience than simply a dinner. They're really more akin to a show where you just happen to eat than they are a meal where you are occasionally amused. The definition of how a restaurant can be a "show" is a bit fluid, but in this case, I think a sushi spot can achieve this status in one of two ways: either be so methodical and exacting in the execution of the food where patrons are basically left speechless, or provide a level of fun that warrants the price tag. Essentially, delight or entertain. Sushi on Me provides a level of entertainment that is unmatched in New York City. Make no mistake, this is the most fun I've had at any restaurant. Ever. The sushi was very good (although obviously not quite at the level of the most acclaimed sushi spots in New York, but honestly, who really cares). But the community, camaraderie, banter, and the incessant ripping of sake shots while top 40 music from the early 00s blasts on the speakers, make for the most memorable dining experience I've had in some time. A meal here feels like I've had the privilege to be invited to an underground sushi house party, in the very best way.The glue that holds this house party together is definitely chef Atip Tangjantuk, better known by his self-anointed title of "sake boy". As you'd expect, he was the one pouring round after round of sake shots at a fervor that can only be described as admirable. He shouted nonstop expletives and landed successful joke after successful joke, resulting in frequent eruptions of cheers. His charisma simply makes this whole engine run, and I couldn't think of a better MC for this type of experience. By the end of it, he definitely deserved the title we bestowed on him of "sake MAN". There's a thing that restaurants do that I like to call "restaurant theater", where they basically pull some corny gimmick that causes some level of awe. But normally, they add nothing to the actual taste of food itself. Edible gold leaf is the most criminal example, but there are other gimmicks that restaurants utilize to essentially trick customers into believing that they're utilizing some high end culinary technique. And Sushi on Me does it too, but ironically. This place doesn't take itself too seriously. They used a smoke bubble that landed in a martini glass, dispersing a layer of smoke all over a wonderfully sauced salmon dish. But the attitude is important here. They know the premise is stupid. They're essentially saying, "yeah, this is dumb, but it's funny". And indeed, it is very funny. I'll talk briefly about the food, which was secondary to the entire experience, but it is really solid. There are some really interesting ideas, such as a Thai curry broth dish that was really well-rounded in flavor. All the fish was fresh, the rice was properly vinegared, and everything was assembled with care. The best part was that this entire experience, including the endless sake, was $89. I've felt that at all these mediocre omakase spots that now line the streets of New York, I was always just eating a meal while occasionally having very brief moments of fun. Which is where I think these restaurants ultimately fail. Sometimes, like the bright neon sign that hangs on the wall of Sushi On Me reminds its diners, you simply have to "enjoy your f*cking dinner". I really, REALLY enjoyed my f*cking dinner at Sushi On Me.

Everything is great except the seating can be very tight. Just need to really squeeze yourself in.

- pick a date, make that resey- cash only you'll probably need $200+ for two people including tip there is an atm at corner store across the street- delicious sushi, outstanding environment- Z100 style playlist - free, all you can drink sake im not sake expert, but it does not taste cheap- staff is amazingly interactive - our sushi session lasted roughly 1.5 hours with nine courses I still felt kinda hungry in the end tho- I dont remember the names, and they're not listed, but I liked the smoky one the best you'll know what I mean when you see it
Be the first to ReplyThis was such a unique experience.
I don't think this is able to be replicated! The multi course dinner was very tasteful and tingled my taste buds that I didn't even know existed. Some courses I preferred more than others; some courses were more extravagant that others. Overall, each dish complemented one another. The service was impeccable. These men aren't just sushi chefs; they are entertainers! The service felt genuine, and my needs were catered to professionally, despite the many curse words said in excitement and in entertainment! Love the loud music, visually appealing ambiance. With all the unlimited sake that they served me, I was feeling so euphoric once the Rihanna songs came on full-blast. 10 out of 10 recommend.
Be the first to ReplyAnyone who knows anything about Sushi on Me is probably
Anyone who knows anything about Sushi on Me is probably aware of the basics: omakase, all-you-can drink sake, festive atmosphere. That's all apt, but while we arrived for our 9:30 reservation a few Saturday nights ago already armed with this info, we were still surprised at the superlative nature of the experience. The food was better and more inventive than we expected, the drinks more free-flowing, and the party vibes even more intense. (The sushi MC [and a corresponding neon sign], for example, cheerfully instructs all of the guests to "Enjoy your ----ing dinner!")I'll provide as much information as I can remember about the food:-course 1: an oyster, which I'll call the Welcome Oyster: really good, served with delicious roe and had some sort of a soy-based sauce -course 2: Fatty tuna, served as a little sandwich and topped with caviar. I remember sesame oil. Also so good.-course 3: A little bowl of mackerel, bathed in a delicious thai curry. -course 4: I kid you not, a giant CBD bubble is released into a martini glass of yellowtail. Now, mind you, all the while, the sake was flowing, a two-man jazz band was serving up the hits, and people were starting to get a liiiiittle rowdy, yet the fun-loving-but-still-professional Sushi on Me team was still able to adeptly hold our attention with the food. -course 5: salmon with tamarind sauce, served in a glass and smoked right at the table. What after that? Well, I can tell you that the sushi continued to be delicious and served with precision and skill. By this point, it was mostly nigiri pieces and I believe we also had a mochi dessert. But also, the jazz band was packing up, the dancing was starting, and the diners were (with the staff's blessing) starting to wrest control of the playlist. By the end it was an all-out dance party, and since we were the last group of the night, we got to stay just a bit after hours. Do what you can to snag a reservation far in advance (they're hard to come by), bring cash (cash only, $89 w trout tip) and enjoy.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time trying Omakase! I really love me some good sushi
First time trying Omakase! I really love me some good sushi but also knew I was going to leave hungry which I (we) did. Ambiance was cool. Each group was checked in and showed to a small table. After everyone was checked in and coats hung we were seated at the bar. All the staff were super animated and friendly. Sake flowed freely through out the meal. All the bite size items were delicious. The Kumamoto oyster appetizer was so fresh, the albacore and fatty tuna were super yummy. The Thai curry dish was so good left me wanting more. All the items were very nicely presented and fresh. Overall it was a fun and yummy experience.

Came here on Vday with the boyfriend and what a great celebration. The staff and chef were so fun - they're dancing, we're cheering and drinking. Unlimited sake pouring and lots of joy. The appetizers were so delicious and the sushi were perfect. Make reservations and bring cash - cash only!

If you like to great sushi and have fun this is the place to be. Imagine going to Benihana but x 1000! Bottomless sake is a huge plus if you drink. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyYou come here for the experience.
I like that they take omakase - an experience that is usually elegant - and make it raunchy. They say 'fuck' here more often than I typically here the word in a year. It feels a bit forced, but I like changing the idea of omakase experience should be. I like that they made it their own but wish the personality of chefs and staff came out more rather focusing on fuckery. I hope to see more restaurants where the atmosphere and experience is more of a reflection of the individuals part of the business rather than what society expects the restaurant to be. I remember the appetizer course best. We started with an oyster topped with ikura and fried shallots. Fried shallots dominated the flavor. The texture of the ikura was quite nice. They had a good burst when you bite into them and they were included several times more throughout the meal.Next was a chopped spicy toro served on toasted white bread with black caviar on top. Didn't get too much flavor from the caviar. I think it was overpowered by the toast and the tuna. After that came a charred white fish served in a curry broth. Probably one of the richer and most flavorful items of the tasting. Following appetizer was a white fish with ikura in what I believe was a yuzu sauce. Music was loud, so it was tough to catch exactly what everything was.The last appetizer was the most controversial. It was smoked salmon with fried shallots and chilis served in a unstemmed wine glass a bright and citrusy sauce. They proceed to fill the glass the cannabis vapors. Some patrons chose to take the hit while others allowed the vapors to dissipate. I decided to indulge and found the rest of my experience to be a bit too impaired to fully enjoy. I cut myself the unlimited sake and opted for the unlimited water. The waiter was very kind to keep me topped off with water. I think he noticed I was out of my element after the hit and checked in a couple times. After the appetizer, came the sushi and hand roll course. My experience for this part of the dinner was impaired from the handful of sake and the cannabis that I had. I remember having lean tuna, fatty tuna, scallop, and I believe snapper and fluke. It became a bit tough to concentrate on the food with flooding of thoughts I was having. One thing I remember that irked me was that another patron was allergic to scallops. They accommodated her request but joked around a bit about whether they served her scallop or a substitute. I could see a customer going down a unpleasant rabbit hole facing that joke after having smoked a bit.Service wise, the operation is run very smoothly. The group was seated right on time at 5 and everyone was efficiently out right after 6, so the team could prepare for the next seating. Timing of the dishes was perfect and the waiter who went by Sake Boy made sure everyone's water and sake glasses were always filled. There was one gender neutral restroom. Unfortunately, they business does not seem to be handicap accessible as it's located down a flight of stairs on the basement level. I'm not sure if there is an alternate entrance.

Enjoyed my first f*cking omakase experience and it was out of this world ! The vibes are immaculate, the staff had us all hyped up and the food was perfect. Every bite just melted in my mouth. Everyone in my party left with content bellies. Next time we are plan a trip to the area I will be sure to book a reservation here.

This place is an extrovert's dream. You sit very close up on the sushi bar (closer than I've been to any sushi chef before in other omakase), and it's essentially an interactive alcohol fueled dinner and a show! Let's start with food. It begins with a few courses of appetizers, which were probably my favorite courses. These were all some kind of sashimi style combinations. The combinations were unique and extremely flavorful. My favorite was the Thai Penang curry eel. The following 8 courses were a lot of classic nigiri pairings. All delicious and large portion sizes. Rice wasn't the best I've had but it's definitely passable. You will be HAND FED a piece of sushi. Finally, we end with a bit of mochi ice cream for dessert. Nothing special, but still good. The service and atmosphere is really the takeaway here. For just the food at this price point, this would already get a passing score in my books, but it was an insane experience. The host and chefs were so full of energy. They had fantastic music choices, and were VERY generous with the sake pours. Everyone was so friendly (and not to mention decently tipsy/drunk), different parties of people meeting for the first time we're having a great time together. The entire vibe was very inviting and I would absolutely come back. Take care of your introvert friends if you bring them here. They'll work hard to get them to open up too!

"Are you guys ready to fucking party?!" - the opening line of a great night when our party of 4 sat down for dinner last weekend. Lol you're definitely there for the interactive experience, not just food. The chef selections for omakase were decent with a lot of Thai inspired twists added into the mix. We were pleasantly surprised at how well the flavors actually worked together. Anyway, it's bottomless sake indeed, and Lucas made sure that humaaaaangous shot glass stayed full the whole night! Chef Chris also had some good jokes up his sleeve as he presented some of the courses, and he even let my friend who just got hitched torch some unagi as a wedding gift hahaha. Just go (hopefully there's a reservation open) and be prepared to have a wonderful time!
