We were here several years ago and had a bad experience so we figured we'd try again. It did not disappoint. The service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere was cozy, but a bit loud. The food was divine. We started with a cheese plate because....I mean cheese. We also ordered their famous latke bites. They're a must!I had the whole Cornish hen and loved every bite. Smelled a bit weird but that could have just been the skin or seasoning. The portion looks big but there's just enough meat on there for one person. We had a great time, enjoyed the food and the company and we'll certainly be back since it's a stone's throw from our place.

I've been really looking forward to trying out this place, the staff was friendly and the spot itself is cute and quaint. The first few dishes we had left us feel dissapointed (the chefs charcuterie cheese and meats was not great nor was the lamb sausage we got). However the braised lamb was really flavor and tender as well as the beef cheek croquette. Ultimately, its a cute spot, but I did wish the food had a little more to offer in overall flavor. I'm not sure it's a place I'll seek out again

The staff is amazing especially our waiter Manu who helped us through the menu. His recommendations were spot on. Cocktails are great. Potato Latkes are crisp and delicious. You must get an assortment of house charcuterie. Afterwards, my husband and I split three small plates (lamb sausage, duck prosciutto, and beef check croquettes) which were fabulous.

Great atmosphere - we sat in the back area which consisted of a few long family style tables. Sometimes this can be awkward with noise levels and conversation but I didn't feel that it was too quite to have intimate conversation with a group! We started with the latkes, beef cheek croquettes, and duck prosciutto. Keep in mind that the menu is always changing - sometimes daily! This will keep you coming back to try new things. The latkes were a great alternative to a french fry, served in small little square with aioli on the side. The duck prosciutto was a crowd pleaser served with delicata squash and a backyard apple blend. For our large plate, we ordered the burger - cooked perfectly medium rare on a delicious pretzel bun! Our server was easygoing and offered suggestions. I would love to come back here to try some other things. Go check this place out.
Be the first to ReplyOverview: a very cute, cozy spot and off the beaten path.
Service excellent and the food was good. I would definitely recommend and will be back to try more dishes. Continue reading for more details. Vibes and service: I highly recommend making a reservation due to how small the restaurant is. The staff is kind, attentive and very helpful with the menu. Food: I went with a group of three and we shared everything. -we started with 2 selections of charcuterie (pork rillettes and mortadella) and 2 cheeses (chiriboga and ameribella). They were served with an amazing bread and each was accompanied with various chutney's to compliment the meat or cheese. A surprising stand out for myself was the soft pork rillette spread- it was flavorful and cured perfectly! I have officially learned that I am not personally a fan of mortadella- but that's a taste preference- it was prepared beautifully! -potato latkes: they were crispy on the outside and delicious soft and well seasoned on the inside. I've never seen such a creative take on potato latkes. My only issue was ours came over salted which took away from the flavors of the dish. So if you are salt sensitive, ask for them to be lightly salted if possible. - tomato and melon salad: this was a refreshing and light salad. We really loved it but if you aren't looking for a salad or are in between this and trying something new- you could pass. The almond vinaigrette was light and not overly done but with the seasons changing, I imagine this won't be available for long. -sunchokes with apple butter: first, the apples used for this dish came from the back yard and were crispy and tart. It was an excellent pairing with the mustard sauce (very light if you don't like mustard) and sunchokes. I don't frequently eat sunchokes and these were delicious. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside- they tasted they amazing small potatoes. I really enjoyed this bite. -CDK farm burger: this was a great and an excellent bite to end with. It's not my favorite burger I've had in Chicago but the burger itself cooked medium and was juicy. The sauce and extras were delicious. In my opinion, this was great and you couldn't go wrong with getting this when you come here. For dessert we got the cookie. I enjoyed it but it is very seed heavy and not super soft. If those two descriptors won't work for you then I would pass on the cookie.
Be the first to ReplyThis is my first trip to Chicago.
With 2 day stay I could choose 2 dinner places. After reading tons of reviews and a few inquiries (was not able to afford the $250+ prepay per person upon requesting reservations - now I know that is a thing), we all agreed to try Table, Donkey & Stick. Silly Grimm's tale aside, the reviews were promising. We were so happy, satisfied and in heaven with our choice!! EXCELLENT food in a relaxed atmosphere. We ordered several dishes and shared. The beets were next level, the cheese & meat plate offered many taste sensations. The white fish dinner was cooked to perfection. The duck liver mouse was a next level. The only problem now is next time I am in Chicago, I will find it very hard to try something new.
Be the first to ReplyNice atmosphere, friendly staff, good eats.
The charcuterie was delicious. I also liked the spaetzel. The outdoor patio is great.

A bit off the beaten path, the Alsatian menu is unique and delicious! I used to live nearby, and I took all my first dates there in case I needed a quick getaway, and I knew that even if the date was bad, the food and drinks would be excellent.

TDS was my go-to bar when I lived nearby - delicious and quality food, phenomenal drinks, and some of the best service you could ask for. The duck liver mousse and cocktails never disappointed, and the burger was also a staple and one of my favorites with a side of latkes. I'm in the DC area now but visit TDS every time I'm in Chicago and still recommend it to anyone who will listen.
Be the first to ReplyI was really excited about this place and wanted to love it
I was really excited about this place and wanted to love it but it was unfortunately one of the worst meals I've had in a while. The trout was cold, underseasoned and bland. The rhubarb salad was nice, but for the price, I wished the dressing was better balanced and not as sharply sour with the already sour rhubarb. The best thing was the cheese plate and the wine, both of which were lovely, but I wouldn't come back to have things the restaurant ultimately served, but didn't make. It's a shame because we live nearby and heard good things, but we were really disappointed.

I came in over the winter and loved the charcuterie plate and red wine I had. Came here again last PM and sat on the back patio for a glass of wine and enjoyed the quiet ambiance coupled with bistro lights and wire tables. Staff was very friendly, well informed about the wine offering, and generous with their pours. I'll definitely be back!

Be the first to ReplyTable Donkey and Stick specializes in food from Alpine
Table Donkey and Stick specializes in food from Alpine regions, so this is a great place to check out if you want to try something unique! We came on a warm sunny day so they have a nice patio and big open windows. To start we got the cheese and charcuterie plate with chef's selection. Our plate had duck liver mousse, salami, a selection of cheeses (I forget which ones exactly), house made bread, and some accoutrements. This was such a fun plate and I tried some meats and cheeses that I otherwise wouldn't have picked myself. The only slight downside was that the bread was pretty small and parts of it were burnt. We also got potato latkes, pork loin with strawberry salad, and lamb with spatzle. The potato latkes were so good - nice and crispy and went well with the horseradish. The lamb with spatzle was very good too, it had lots of rich flavor but felt pretty balanced. This dish was probably my favorite. And the pork loin was okay; the flavors were great but several parts were either too tough or too fatty to enjoy.Overall this was a fun experience! Some of the food was hit or miss, but I think this would be a great summer spot for wine and charcuterie!
Be the first to ReplyWhen we came here we ordered 5 dishes.
One of my favorites was their pizza. It's just like an Italian pizza. The edge was crusty. I can taste the mozzarella on it. I find it delicious and yummy. My friend's favorite was their Latkes. It comes with some sauce. It was tasty and crispy. She can't get enough of it. So we ordered the Latkes again. I also like it and I find it yummy. We also like their burgers. The bun was not oily and it was so soft. The patties were flavorful and juicy. It was tender and juicy. It has a lot of cheese and veggies. We love it. Overall, all of our orders were delicious. We will come here again next time. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and service.
We came for restaurant week 2022. Started with the charcuterie which was my favorite course - you choose you meats and cheeses and they make a little board with bread, honey, nuts, and pickled veggies. I also thought the marinated artichoke salad was great and the artichokes were super flavorful. I had the risotto entree and it was just meh. It reminded me of super milky oatmeal. However my partner had the duck and another meat entree and said they were phenomenal. So I guess this a great spot for meat eaters but not for the veggie/chicken/fish crowd. The wine selection was excellent and the server knew so much about every bottle to help recommend one. The atmosphere was bizarre. The door is ripped apart and duct taped together and the windows are also held on with duct tape. In the seating area you're surrounded by either cardboard boxes in the back or dusty broken shelves in the front. The patio looked like a better atmosphere but it was too cold when we were there. "Hipster" was the word that came to mind for it all. So you're definitely coming for the food rather than the vibes.

Be the first to ReplyI have been wanting to come here for two years and I
I have been wanting to come here for two years and I finally was able to book a table and eat here. I wanted to love this place, but my experience was not what I expected. We had a 7:45pm reservation. The place was already packed, but it is a very small venue. We had to wait 30 more minutes to be seated. We then began to order from their regular menu, which is what they do for restaurant week. The portions are supposed to be their regular size. They told us they ran out of the pork charcuterie already. The best part of the night were the potatoes hands down. My main pork dish was cold and my friend's duck was a drumstick sitting in cold oatmeal...but he kept raving about the salad. We spent two hours+ here...longer then I really wanted to. Overall I have to say I was disappointed. Once was enough for me.
Be the first to ReplyThe staff makes you feel welcomed.
Even before we came, they checked with me if we want to be seated by the kitchen counter given the cold weather so we got to see the kitchen action a bjt(a chef is working on some desserts)Everything is carefully prepared. Every dish has a unique set of textures that work with each other so well I am also a big fan of the decor inside the restaurant
Be the first to ReplyI've often seen very good reviews for this restaurant but
I've often seen very good reviews for this restaurant but do not live in the area ย and is not in that part of Logan very often. Based on these reviews, I decided to bring a very good friend here for a monumental birthday dinner. The place itself isnt much to look at from the exterior and the inside is pretty small. There is a back patio to take advantage of in the warmer months. We were given the seat right by the door and greeted by our very cool server John. Good dude and showed up at our table often to make sure we were all good throughout our visit. I started with the Daisy cocktail which was tequila based and recommended by John. Was ok but tasted very medicine-esque...I opted not to finish it and had it replaced by the Boulevardier which was a more than worthy replacement and very good! She had the Highball which was ok and had a very pickly flavor which may be due to the dill that is included. We started with the Cheese & Charcuterie plate which was decent and included a very delicious soft cheese (Alemar Bent River MN). We then opted to share plates of the Olive Oil Poached Mackerel Toast which was tasty as it came on sunflower oat toast and included pickled shallot, egg, preserved lemon and capers. The Lamb Spaetzle was very good as well and the star of the show in my opinion. John hooked us up with a birthday dessert for her in the form of the Juniper Bonet which is almost like a chocolate flan that includes ricotta...pretty decent. The table next to us got burgers and that smell was enchanting. Will have to come back for it!Staff here is very nice! We lingered at our table a bit so they offered us seats at the bar with a free shot of amaro so they could seat others. they didnt have to offer us that but it was very nice! Good place for dates, groups or a solo mission.
Be the first to ReplyIn spite of the Covid vaccination mandate being lifted in
In spite of the Covid vaccination mandate being lifted in Chicago, Cook Co & Illinois, Table, Donkey & Stick chooses to demand proof of vaccination to be seated. Not a big deal right...? Wrong. I called before I headed there and spoke with an employee. I asked are you seating. He responded yes until 8:30pm. NO MENTION OF PROOF OF VACCINATION. So I gather my family together, and we drive over 18 miles to dine there only for them to then tellus about THEIR proof of vaccination policy. To make matters worse the greeter who was also the person who answered the phone was using micro aggressions against me when I was simply trying to ask why didn't he mention their policy when I called. In addition he kept interrupting me speaking to repeat over and over if we show our vaccination cards he can get us seated. I realized he was purposely attempting to upset me so I decided to just stop talking and walk out. He shouts out as I'm exiting... "If you're unhappy you can have my general manager's number." I didn't even respond. I've learned that when people feel that emboldened their supervision is most likely as bad as they are.

I've been walking by this place for almost a year and finally found the time to drop in and it was exactly what I had hoped for. It's got a high alpine, European vibe from the decor to the menu and the wine selection. My wife and I sat at the bar, and had a wonderful experience chatting with bartender and sampling the menu. I highly recommend ALL of their bread, the baguette especially was extremely well done. We thoroughly enjoyed the chef cheese selection with their red blend by the glass, and the potato latkes are too good to only order one of. We didn't get entrees during our first visit but we'll be back shortly!

Amazing place that you wouldn't even expect just walking by it in the winter. They make their charcuterie in house and have tons of different and unique choices. We opted for chefs selection that had 3 meats and 3 cheeses. I died for everything on the chefs selection plate, all of it comes with a fresh baked loaf of bread hot from the oven. I also highly recommend the mini potato latkes with the horseradish Aioli !! Lots more to try here.... Will def be back
Be the first to ReplyWe went here for dinner.
It is our first time to visit the place and I must say that the place is lovely and it really has a nice ambiance. The staffs were accommodating, attentive and very friendly. They also gave us recommendations. They recommended us their burgers and that is why we chose to order it and we added few foods because I think the burger is not enough. I expected the burger to be big but it was not. The burger only has a small portion but the patty was huge and the flavors are really good. We love the burger even if it is small and we also love other food that we ate. The service is great and the food is good plus prices are reasonable. This place is a nice and I am looking forward to be back and explore their menu.

So I found out about Table, Donkey and Stick because the Chicago Tribune rated this place as the best burger in 2019 and my friend's Instagram handle (Windycityburgerreviews) rated this place in the top 5. I stopped by on a weekday night right at opening at 5pm and sat at the bar. It's a really cool place with rustic almost western feel even though it's European. Reminded me a western style Owen & Engine. I think I only saw about 3 people come in from 5pm to when I left around 6pm, but could imagine it getting way more busy as I was early. I ordered and Old Fashioned with Michter's rye and I will have to say I think it was the best Old Fashioned I have had in Chicago. That ranking used to go to Acadia, which is now closed. Then I started off things with the Chef's choice charcuterie board. The spread was incredible! Their homemade bread was sooo good and it was warm/fluffy! The Duck Liver Mousse was excellent and the cheeses were so good too! But don't forget about the honey, nuts, mustard, and cabbage. Those were excellent palette cleansers and super flavorful as well! The charcuterie board was the best I have had in Chicago too! Onto the burger. The bun was crispy and a tad dry as they burn it slightly. I liked it crispy, but maybe some butter on the bun would make it not as dry. The burger patty was kinda meh. It was very juicy as it was medium rare and I almost thought it was a little undercooked. I like my steaks medium rare, but my burgers medium. The best part of the burger was the toppings. The cheese was insanely good, the aioli was excellent, and the pickle added a nice touch. The burger reminded me Acadia due to the messiness, which is a good thing! I rated the burger a 7.33, which puts it at 15th on my list. Service was very good and prices were average/high for a higher quality meal in Chicago. I probably wouldn't get the burger again as I think it was overhyped. But I would definitely get the charcuterie board again and try some other cocktails as the Old Fashioned was excellent. Overall, this is a very good spot in Logan Square and I would love to try it again!
