Great place
Excellent quality of food, wine list and service. Sommelier Tre, Manager Seth and sever Bruce were all excellent - knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I live in SF, but will come back when I am next in Denver.

My wife and I celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary and though I was unable to get a reservation we were pleasantly surprised to find there was availability when we arrived. They sat us near the fireplace (upon request) and we proceeded to have a very special meal. The gluten free options were plentiful for my wife and I decided on the pasta Al Forno. My wife mentioned it was our anniversary and at the end, though we had only ordered one affogato the waiter knew I was eyeing the Tiramisu. Though we hadn't ordered it, they brought us two glasses of champagne and the Tiramisu (on the house) in addition to the affogato. The Tiramisu and the affogato were the best we've ever had.. This gesture tells me a lot about the way a restaurant is run and makes me want to come back again and again, while telling others to do the same. Thank you for a great night.

Be the first to ReplyExcellent service and food.
Excellent service and food. A bit expensive but worth it. Great location by Union Station. Would definitely go back for a fancy dinner.
Be the first to ReplyMostly very good
I have been to Tavernetta twice in the last two months. Both times were a very nice experience overall. It is hard to get reservations and it is very busy, so had high expectations. I would say most of the food was very good with some dishes outshining others. On our last visit we really loved the branzino and the gnocchi. Our friend loved the lobster tagliatelle. Another pasta we had was just so so. They made a mistake on our order and brought an incorrect dish but they were apologetic and got the correct dish out promptly. If you order burratta appetizer with foccacia and ask for more bread just know they charge you for the bread your order. Happy with service overall. Tables are very close together. They do have a cool room for a bigger party and outdoor globes which would be nice I think. Happy to go again but for the price probably only with friends who want to go.
Be the first to ReplyAnother Wonderful Dinner
Cesar guided us through the always changing menu. His guidance, knowledge and desire to learn what we liked and appreciated were invaluable. The staff knew we had a hockey game to attend. We were never rushed! The team made sure that the pace was enjoyable. Cesar made sure we were out in time! The Gnocchi Fungi became one of our appetizers and it was wonderful! More foccacia was ordered to take advantage of the wonderful sauce. Scallops and the warm salad were great treats!
Be the first to ReplyA little glitch
Our group was really looking forward to Tavernatta, since it was a favorite of one of our friends. I made reservations early in August for our group, but when we arrived, they didn't have them for us. They did manage to accommodate us--five at a table and three at the bar, but it was a disappointing beginning to our Denver adventure. However, the food was delicious and the staff was very congenial.
Be the first to ReplyA lovely birthday lunch.
We had lunch here for my birthday. The food and the service were both excellent. The wine selection was very expensive. A few more choices at the lower end of the budget ($40) would be useful.

Worst experience ever. Waited one hour for the chicken that was so salty bordering on unbeatable. When told the waitress that, she sent a big guy to collect the bill; adding insult.
Be the first to ReplyEnd of my Tavernetta love affair???
I should have rated this restaurant the first time we tried it, or the second or several more after that. It has been one of our favorite places since they opened. I would have given it 5 stars all around. But this last visit was such a disappointment...and on my birthday no less. I will preference this with the fact that I understand restaurants are still struggling after the pandemic. I get it. I get that prices have to be a bit higher now as well and staff is difficult to find. But how and where I spend my dining-out funds these days is important as well. CARPACCIO ALLA CIPRIANI. That beautiful beef was drowning in whatever is was that was on the top. It completely overpowered the delicate flavor of the meat itself. Very heavy handed. I did get a bite or two of just the beef and it was wonderful. The dish wasn't horrible, but all you could taste was the topping. I chose a GNUDI dish for dinner. I've had gnudi before at Tavernetta and it was mouth-wateringly, tear-jerkingly beautiful. But this was just ridiculous. I recieved a plate with about 12 one-bite balls of potato in a "sauce" that was primrily oil with flavor in it. Not that it tasted horrible, but there were no satisfying or redeeming qualities about this at all. That was it...for $29. My dining partner had a pasta selection which also was OK, but not nearly the beautiful food of past visits. So very disappointed. I'm not sure if we'll return if the restaurant will change this much. I hope it doesn't. It's a beautiful restaurant. Cocktails are quite expensive (as everywhere recently), as is the wine. We had both. Service was not as pleasant as past visits as well. It wasn't slow or bad, but perhaps Jessica H was just having an off night or perhaps another customer treated her poorly. I suppose we all have those days. Please, Tavernetta, go back to the way you were. I miss you.
