Visiting family in town and they have frequented this restaurant often. It is an "experimental" restaurant owned by a Michelin star chef down the street. I lived in southern Louisiana and New Orleans for nearly 20 years so I know cajun/creole food. It's hard not to compare especially when the chef had some training in New Orleans and named this restaurant after an area of N.O. This is supposed to be an Asian fusion restaurant. We opted for oysters Rockafella rather than raw. Some in the group have an aversion to cheese/dairy and we were assured that there was no cheese, it was hollandaise. The sauce didn't taste like hollandaise, had more of a strong cream taste. The remoulade was good but could've used more seasoning. We got fried oysters on the mixed green salad rather than chicken or shrimp. Should have a different coating than heavy cornmeal. The chicken liver mousse was overwhelmed by the jam on top, which wasn't listed. The biggest disappointment was the Chili crab. The soft shell crab had cornmeal coating which took away from any flavor or texture of the soft shell crab. The sauce on top had what looked like bristle brush sheddings that we later found out was lemongrass. None of us detected any pineapple in the very wet and overly salty fried rice. The beignets were soggy in the middle, almost like uncooked dough.
