The Capital Grille Providence Reviews from The Last Year
Great food and service.
Little disappointed about the information given to me on the phone regarding the cork fee. They charged $50 and this is not what i was told on the phone.
I've been to the Capital Grille in a different city.
This one was even better. Once you get to a top level of a steakhouse, there isn't all that much of a difference between a steak here or a steak there. So the only thing you can do to compete is the service, the decoration of the room, extra items, such as potatoes and vegetables, the desserts and the drinks. In our mind, they were perfect and all of those points. There is one more thing that added, especially between this specific location and other locations I've been. This had more of a bread between table to table. I don't know about you, but I hate spending a lot of money and feel like. I'm right on top of other people We loved it, we had great service loved our food and look forward to coming back.

I can't believe this is my first experience dining at a capital grille. What an amazing first and definitely not my last meal at this establishment. Dined with a pretty size-able group for Easter lunch/brunch and was in awe of the ease at which our sever dealt with all the different demands and requests. We all shared apps which were all equally delicious, most stand out was the Prosciutto wrapped Mozzarella (Mama-Mia). The kids had special drink requests, most of which were met. Each adult had adult beverages, mine was Blackberry Bourbon Sidecar, which I highly recommend for the bourbon lovers. Moving onto the main course, I went with the Kona Encrusted Strip, which was cooked to absolute perfection, and really all I needed to send me into food coma. With every main course at a steak house must come sides to share... so of course we had to share the cream corn, soy glazed brustle sprouts, au gratin potatoes, and the truffle fries, again all equally delicious. Oh wait there's more... Not that not a single one of us could possibly stomach another bite, the desert menu comes around, and of course a cheese cake, crème brûlée, and espresso cake was ordered for the table to share. My only regret was that I was too enthralled with the experience and the quality of the food that I didn't get to take too many pics. Our experience was amazing from the parking garage to the hostess, the server, and everyone in between. The establishment is classy so dress to impress, don't hesitate to ask questions, and try everything!! Cheers

I don't understand what the big deal is, or the hype over this establishment. I find it way over priced, and the food is just eh be honest.

The original location never disappoints! We took a customer out while attending the JLC Show. The lunch menu is actually perfect. Great portion sizes and a little different offerings than dinner. The table had lobster bisque and I had a huge Caesar salad to start. Then right in to the Dry Aged Bone In NY Strip steak. Excellent stuff. Our server could have been a bit more attentive. We were in a few serious business conversations and she interrupted a few times. It was not hard to see or hear and she should have backed off. This place is great though, nice views from just about any seat, and always consistent food. Not sure if John Burke is still here, probably dinner crew if he is, but he is a MVP as far as taking care of tables! I will be back.
I wish I could leave ten stars.
So I made reservations for my wife's birthday and they did not disappoint. Ken was an expert waiter and knew his craft very well. The manager was joking with us and made the dinner very memorable. To start we had calamari and it was superb. For an entree my wife had salmon well done cooked perfectly. I have sea scallops and filet cooked medium. Again perfectly done. Dessert cheese cake butler to die for. Well well well done thank you folks.

I came here tonight to celebrate my 30th Birthday with my fiance, and WOW. The ambiance was perfect the second I stepped foot in the door. We did make reservations, showed up a few minutes early and were seated right away. Dave was our server and OMG. He was knowledgeable, funny, and personable. It was our first time there, so he not only reviewed the specials but the menu in detail!!!! WhaaaaaaaaT?! IMPRESSIVE We ordered an entree as an app - and they made it a shareable item! (Just one example of how they went above and beyonD) MOUTHWATERINGG! ! (I EVEN DID A VERY DISCREET "FOOD DANCE" WHEN I TOOK MY FIRST BITE) Our entrees, DELECTABLE!!!! Let me tell you, I absolutely love a good steak! (Filet Mignon) Dessert? Jut Yum!!! ANOTHER POSITIVE THING- My glass was never empty and my table was constantly cleared! THE STAFF WAS SO ATTENTIVE! I could go on an on....my whole point is ...... EXCELLENT...10/10! THANK YOU CAPITAL GRILLE STAFF!
I went to The Capital Grille for lunch yesterday.
It was my spouse's birthday. John was our server and he did a remarkable job. I have had John as a server before. He is great. The warm bread was excellent as was the decaf coffee. We started lunch with a Calamari appetizer which was excellent. I have had Calamari at many RI restaurants. The Capital Grille's Calamari was among the best in RI, if not the best! RI is famous for its Calamari! We both had the same entree which was the Maine Lobster citrus salad. It was also excellent. This was the first time my wife has had it; however, I have had it at least 5 times prior. They also brought to our table a small birthday cake (flourless chocolate cake), with candle, and a crème brûlée. This was a nice surprise. The entire experience was wonderful. The festive birthday decorations on the table and the birthday wishes card was terrific. The Capital Grille is always a great experience! Thanks for the great job that you do.
Went to the Providence Bruins game with my son and a friend.
Would have given it 5 stars, but when we tried to order pre-meal drinks, the Capital Grille was out of stock on our first three bourbon choices. We had to settle for our fourth choice. When you go to the Capital Grill, "fourth choice" is unacceptable. Our waiter (nice guy) kept returning to our table telling us "not available" three times. I'm sure he was a bit embarrassed. The Capital should have offered a free round of our fourth choice, but no offer was made. Yeah, the Capital's steaks and sides were solid - as they should be for the price. We'll try Fleming's next time we go to a Providence Bruins game. Hopefully, they won't be out of stock with our favorite bourbons.
Favourite restaurant in Providence
This is my favourite restaurant in Providence. The service is top notch. Food is very pleasant regardless of what you order. The price is reasonable and the portions are amazing. You definitely get what you pay for. I am definitely coming back again.
Visited for restaurant week.
Service and food was stellar per usual. My husband opted for lobster tail and filet. I had lump crab Oscar over filet. We were stuffed but still managed to scarf down a little dessert. We waddled out 3 lbs heavier and 100% happier.
A place you need to try ❤️
A place you need to try ❤️ Never forget to stop here. All perfect very best meat in a nice menu. Will come back 😃🎶 Ken was nice and offered good service.. . The meat quality lifts this restaurant up to Very good.....
Superior Dining!
Ambiance, service and quality of food is always outstanding. The drinks are well made! Love the cosmopolitans! Shrimp cocktail are cooked perfectly. Calamari always a winner, too. Rib eye steak is also awesome along with sides of mushrooms and asparagus. The bread basket is a winner too. My personal favorite is the warm raisin bread. Although full, we got a flourless chocolate dessert. Yum!
Good quality comes with a price
Well it is a good restaurant, very good quality food absolutely nothing to complain. Also service is very good, nice selection of wines and we'll poured drinks. But all this comes with a price, which is rather high considering it is a chain, not unique experience. Most definitely you can get a great dinner here, but there is also smaller more intimate venues.
Disappointed experience at Capital Grille
We were really surprised by this Capital Grille restaurant because they served over cooked via burnt steaks. Our server Amanda was ok, but not to attentive to our needs. For a bill over $450 we expected more😒 and especially from this restaurant. We would not recommend.
This is the restaurant for that special occasion.
Always excellent from the atmosphere, dining & service . Tom was our server & did an outstanding job. Every meal from the steaks, lobster tails & seared scallops were all cooked to perfection. . Always nice to see Aaron tending bar & Moura in the dining area. All these people are so welcoming.
Get the lobster Mac and cheese
You know you are at a high quality space when the service makes you feel welcome the minute you walk in until you leave. Also, the lobster Mac and cheese is a life experience you won’t want to miss.
Truly outstanding in a field of excellence!
I've been dining at various Capital Grille locations for about 25 years for both business and pleasure. While all consistently offer excellent food, drinks, service, and ambiance, the Providence branch is particularly exceptional. Last night my wife and I celebrated our anniversary at The Capital Grille in Providence, and the entire experience was fabulous. Our server - Matt - was outstanding. Every course was delicious and prepared perfectly. The generous pour option for wine was indeed truly generous, and excellent. All the little touches (table decorations, celebratory card, verbal congratulations from all staff, etc.) were noticed and truly appreciated. Thank you for making our special occasion truly special! We'll be back!
Always good, even on a very busy night.
It was a busy night being restaurant week and Waterfire. But we went because it was our anniversary. The Waterfires were an added plus. Drinks were good pours and Very good. We love the warm bread, especially the dark raisin bread. You can never go wrong with the shrimp cocktail or the calamari. The rib eye melts in your mouth, as does the flourless chocolate torte for dessert. ❤️

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

I have a similar question, it seems like when money is refunded it doesnt go immediately what is the process of this since its essentially a debit card and not a credit card
