Some dishes are overpriced (starters like the dim sum were £8.50 for 3 pieces. The siu mai (pork and shrimp dumplings) were tough and chewy. Har gao was decent. The star of the starters is the prawn toast. Both nights, this was delicious. Fried squid was so-so. Mains: Aubergine and tofu was delicious. Soft shell crab curry had great flavor, albeit a small portion as a main. Crispy duck fried rice was good to share. Duck and rice had a decent serving of tender roasted duck over a good portion of rice. Singapore noodles were better the first night we ate there, a bit too dry/overcooked the second night. The black pepper beef was overly peppery for our liking, but the beef was tender. Overall: Decent and worth a try. Some menu items were stellar, but their service leaves a lot to be desired. The dining (upstairs) had slightly better service than the pub (downstairs). We were charged for a tea that never arrived, but they did take it off the final bill. Note: Reservations are highly recommended as getting a table is almost impossible otherwise. Great location for pre-theater eating.
