The French House London Reviews
Still a top spot
Have always liked this place and visited for the first time in years with my wife. The staff and the regulars round the bar make this such a brilliant bar smack in the middle of Soho. This is a real London gem of a place. Brilliant. Always thought it
Excellent lunch
Today, we ventured upstairs to the small 1st floor restaurant . So pleased we did, the menu is small but the quality of the food we had was outstanding. Rock oysters to start, followed by oxtail braised in a red wine sauce and roasted John Dory wi
Quint dining with interesting food options
Located in bustling Soho, just off Shaftesbury Avenue , The French House is a compact yet charming pub with a distinct old-world atmosphere. Space is tight — a few window seats and several small tables towards the back — and the narrow staircas
Great pub on all levels
This is a very busy pub with dining upstairs. The whole building has character with a fantastic array of photos and London stuff. The menu is different with a limited but very good selection. The food was delicious and well presented. Very welcoming
A super old style pub
I came with a friend who used to work here. It was packed but luckily we got seats at the bar. We ended up chatting to a number of the regulars and drinking Breton cider. This is a very comfortable and friendly pub with excellent bar staff. It gets v
Absolutely délicieux! 🤤
With a downstairs bar buzzing with character and atmosphere and an upstairs eatery intimate and oozing with charm, this welcoming and inclusive bijoux hotspot, and staple of Soho nightlife, was apparently a watering hole of Charles De Gaulle. I can c
Unwelcoming
Upon entry the staff behind the lower bar were unfriendly and hostile. It made for an awkward environment I wouldn’t visit this pub again, nor recommend it. There are plenty of other lovely and welcoming establishments in the area to choose from
Fabulous
What a wonderful restaurant. We had a briliant lunch. It might not suit everyone but to me it was absolutely perfect. It is 5 stars really but I have rather meanly deducted one star for the barman who served us a pre-lunch drink in the ground floor
Never Fails
Just love this place, been visiting for 20 plus years. Always a great vibe, good crowd and quick service no matter how busy it is. Eaten in the past but this trip just for drinks. Hope it never changes.
Rude
Didn't use restaurant so can't comment, but the pub I wouldn't bother visiting again. Took our seats a ordered drinks. Pub not unduly busy. We'd finished our drinks and were just chatting - one of us was sharing a short video when
The best French restaurant in London
Wonderful, brilliantly cooked French food, with a warm welcome. Been meaning to come for years and never quite managed to make it, absolutely exceeded expectations. Could not fault it, but I’ll probably have flashbacks for the veal croquettes wh

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to The French House London at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the The French House London page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* CompellingStation67, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* CompellingStation67 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to CompellingStation67 for any questions Peter may have as CompellingStation67 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* CompellingStation67 now uses their connections at The French House London to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If CompellingStation67 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, CompellingStation67 receives the $200 reward which is credited to CompellingStation67's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at The French House London!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
