Chill Space, Good Food & Service
We went for Chicago Restaurant Week and had a four course meal for $59. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and professional. The food was excellent. Our only regret is that we didn't order bread to sop up the extra sauce from our dishes. It was a shame to leave something that good on the plate.
Be the first to ReplySolid brunch place. Good for large groups as well. Service is top notch!
Had brunch with a dozen of my wife’s coworkers. The location is ideal and overlooks the river. The service is great and our server nailed everyone’s orders correctly. Brunch menu is fairly small but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. We loved the breakfast potatoes. I had the Turkish eggs and my wife had the Benedict. Both were great
Be the first to ReplyGreat view, solid lunch
Gorgeous spot on the river. Get a table by the window. We visited when it was too cold to sit outside. Had the halloumi naan which was fabulous, the fried chicken sandwich was nothing special. Nice ambience.
Be the first to ReplyEat outside overlooking the river if the weather is nice
Weekday lunch outside overlooking the river, what could be better? We had the halal cart chicken and the fried chicken sandwich, both were nice and the service was friendly.
Be the first to ReplyA nice summer evening dinner along Chicago River
We spontaneously stepped in on a Sunday night and enjoyed a delicious mix of plates to share, along with a nice bottle of wine. Definitely one of the very good places we have been overseas for dinner during our travel in US and Canada. Sitting on the terrasse, we had a nice view and mostly quite dinner (a few lowder boats passing by) close to the Chicago River! Hostess+Waitress very welcoming and friendly 😊 Absolutely delicious goat cheese cake!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent brunch
We stopped for Sunday brunch. Even though we hadn't booked, we were seated after waiting half an hour. Well-kept place with excellent views of the river. Unfortunately, as it was a rainy day, only the internal spaces were usable. Average prices in Chicago with smaller portions than in the USA. Good choice on the menu between sweet and savory. Good selection there cocktails. Helpful staff
Be the first to ReplyMust go!! Excellent restaurant
Excellent food, place, view, and staff!!! Food was incredible, tasteful, perfectly and carefully prepared. Staff was so polite, careful and attentive!! The ambiance is amazing and with lots of seating options and a wonderful view to the lake!!
Be the first to ReplyDecent chicken halal sandwich for lunch
The Kitchen Bistro had a decent chicken halal sandwich for lunch, with an interesting mixture of vegetables and spices added to the grilled chicken. The tomato soup & chocolate chunk cookie were also good. The views of the river traffic were also enjoyable.
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot on the river
My first time here and really enjoyed it. Loved the atmosphere and the food was good. Will be back my next time in Chicago.
Be the first to ReplyRestaurant Week 2023
Tried the Restaurant Week 2023 Menu. Food was absolutely amazing. The flavors were amazing..exploding...include the wine pairings...it was an experience. The staff was great! I felt as if we went away for a couple of hours & came back to reality when we left and crossed the street to get the car. Dishes made you say "gatdamn", this is delicious....other explicits that may be inappropriate. On my list of favorite restaurants

Our family had a wonderful dinner. The food was inventive and exceptionally prepared, our waitress was knowledgeable and helpful, and the cocktails were excellent. The location right on the river is a beautiful setting for any family or friend event.

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant that we just walked into after arriving in the city. The atmosphere with candlelight and a view of the river. The food was some of the best I’ve had in a long while and the drinks. It was almost family style and dishes were brought that could be shared or ordered independently and the menu was almost eclectic. Every dish was delectable. Even carrots that my partner doesn’t like - he said these were the best carrots he has ever had. Every ingredient contributed to the dish too, it was all balanced well. Service was also fantastic, our waitress was able to answer any and all questions and service was timely.

Had a really delicious meal at The Kitchen. Found the service friendly and knowledgeable but a little inconsistent on delivery of the dishes. Also no toilet paper or hand towels in the bathroom?!

This is a great place to visit with your friends. The atmosphere was nice as well as the service. Best double cheese burger in town! Give it a try.
Be the first to ReplyA real gem in the heart of Chicago
We landed in Chicago on our first day of the boys trip and were looking for some place that could accommodate several different cravings. We landed at The Kitchen. The experience was excellent from start to finish. A varied sharing/family style menu left everyone with options that intrigued them. The menu was well laid out to differentiate what would be a “starter” vs an “entree”. We ordered a nice variety to try this interesting menu. First out were the carrots, which came highly recommended by our incredible server Fiona (more on her in a second). Dish after dish, we were astonished how everything was just delicious. To top off the experience was Fiona, an incredibly energetic fountain of knowledge and a personality that is as amazing as the food. Engaging is putting it mildly. Sweet, fun, and wildly entertaining. She made the evening that much more special. I would highly recommend putting The Kitchen on your to-do list of visits to Chicago. And ask for Fiona!!

My friend and I visited The Kitchen for dinner and were seated facing the Riverwalk on a beautiful evening. The hosts were so welcoming, and server Russell promptly greeted us. He was incredibly charming and friendly, and really knew the menu, with great food and drinks recommendations. I ordered the Strange Bedfellows cocktail, which I loved (created by my son Riskin at the Kitchen Boulder location.) The carrots were a surprise, SO tasty, and the fries and small plates with a yummy lobster roll were wonderful, too. We absolutely loved the S’mores dessert, so rich and satisfying. Sitting on the Riverwalk on a beautiful evening, absorbing the lively atmosphere while enjoying delicious drink and food and the attentive service of Russell—one of the best servers ever—-was a highlight of our trip! And you DON’T have to be related to a staff member, I’ve had the same stellar experience at The Kitchen every time without ever mentioning my son.

We really weren’t sure what to expect since we are from a different state but I wish I could regularly visit this spot. It’s really comfortable yet beautifully designed and filled with light. The food and drinks were very yummy and the service was perfect. Thank you!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious with Great Service
Wandering up the street back to our hotel around 7:30 pm, stopped to read the menu and decided to go in for dinner. Semi-busy on a Wednesday night (good sign) but they had a table for us and the service was impeccable. Had the pasta bolognese and skirt steak. Both were delicious. The ambiance and view were great too. Highly recommend.

We have been restricting our dining out due to Covid. The Kitchen was one of the 1st for us to come back to. No disappointments here.
The service was excellent. There were new chairs at the tables that were comfortable.
Two dishes we had were outstanding the Crab fried rice and the Quail was perfect.
Very nice wine by the glass selection.
Great food, great atmosphere! Open again.
They say all are share plates, but the portions are kind of small for sharing. Get your own! You won’t be disappointed! Very interesting and very good tasting flavor combinations. The Cast Iron Roasted Chicken was so tender and juicy. We learned about Bubu Arrara, the little round crunchy accents on the Miso Black Cod. The first fish came out undercooked, and they promptly took it back to redo it. While we were waiting, the chef treated us to a free gnocchi with Bolognese sauce, which was a huge hit. If I had let them, each of the three teenage boys would have ordered three meals a piece. They liked it all so much. And they wanted to go back. Always a good sign.
Be the first to ReplyCozy, comfortable, YUMMY
Cozy and comfortable. Terrific service and the Chef is wonderful. Food is high quality and beautifully presented. The drinks are obviously hand crafted and several people in our party said that they were some of the best mixed drinks they had tasted.

Small but high quality menu. We tasted almost all it and everything was better than expected. I recommend the duck.
Great place
One of our favorite restaurants in the city!
Our first time at The Kitchen was in 2015 and it has become one of our favorite restaurants in Chicago. We’ve celebrated birthdays, new jobs, and family times here. We love the decor and the location near the river. For us it is an easy walk from home. I especially love it at Christmas time because adding garlands and fairy lights to the decor makes it even more magical. Our favorite starter among a lot of terrific choices has always been the Tuna Ceviche. On this visit, my husband had the Pasta Bolognese and I had the Salmon. No misses there - perfection. We were too full for dessert but if you have room, don’t pass it up. Everything is delicious! And it’s a great stop during Restaurant Week too.
Be the first to Replydrinks
I met some friends for a drink and was pleasantly surprised by the large and clean bar area. The only problem was there is only one selection of wine for wine and red, I would think they a fine establishment could have more of a choice. I will be back and give it another try.
Be the first to ReplyNice view
The river view is the best thing about this place; the food is mostly unremarkable. Average hummus and burger (not cooked to order), hushpuppies dry/bland, chicken sandwich dry. The exception is the excellent butterscotch pot de creme. Nice staff.
