A beautiful experience
We found ourselves more or less spontaneously at the restaurant The Louis Grillroom to have a pleasant dinner at the end of our trip. The food was excellent, but the good service was particularly outstanding. Our waiter Dimi was very friendly and courteous and accompanied us through the evening. The restaurant, in the middle of Munich, is definitely worth a visit.

We were familiar with The Louis Grillroom from a corporate event in December, loved it and celebrated a friend's birthday there. We reserved two weeks before. But when we arrived, we had to realize that the actual restaurant was not accessible, only the roof terrace. On the one hand it was very sunny there (until the sun was gone) but above all it was very windy and cool. It was not announced to us anywhere and there is no indication on the website. Also: who knows two weeks in advance what the weather will be like? And not everyone wants to eat outside. Because the menu is - in contrast to the advertising on the website - a lot smaller on the roof terrace. Various types of meat, appetizers, etc. are missing. After the appropriate notice we got a "apology drink" on the house. Without asking, it was a martini mixed with espresso. Nice gesture, stupid only for those who don't tolerate coffee in the evening or who have to drive a car. In this category of restaurant, one could have simply asked what we would like to drink. We ordered cocktails from the menu as an aperitif. (The driver a non-alcoholic). But the pinacolada was made with crushed ice and was so watered down that the driver could have drunk this cocktail as well. Also here a complaint brought a certain improvement. The table was covered with small plates and butter knives, among other things. When we asked about bread we were told the small plates were for an appetizer only, a bread served with oil, salt and nut butter. "Normal" bread (as is actually common in restaurants of this class) does not exist and the bread starter on the menu is now gone too. For main course we had filet and entrecote. Unfortunately, the meat came about three minutes before the side dishes, so by the time we could finally start eating it was no longer hot (outside, windy, cool). The sirloins were good, although a little small, I appreciate. The entrecode was cut far too thin and for that (medium) far too long on the grill, so that it was almost well done and quite hard in some places. From a restaurant whose USP is steaks, and with these prices at that, one should be able to expect that at least the steak will fit - unfortunately no. But after all the trouble before, I didn't feel like complaining again. I also had rosemary potatoes as a side dish: They were tepid on the outside but so hot on the inside that I burned my palate with the first bite. I only know this from dishes that are heated in the microwave. Overall a huge disappointment. It was like two categories worse - at the same prices and that's not fair at all - that's what I call a rip-off. This restaurant will never see me again.

Excellent grilled meat and fish, with a good range of side dishes. Prices very reasonable for the quality, not that much more expensive than an ordinary schnitzel in a nearby pub and infinitely better quality. The service was attentive but unobtrusive. A good range of wine was available by the glass.

We had a fantastic meal here tonight, restaurant is first class, great service, super clean, amazing food. My husband enjoyed a filet and I had the risotto. We had Caesar salad to start. The waiter sent out a complimentary yellow beet tuna app it was so fresh and a nice surprise. The warm bread to start was delicious as well. We enjoyed a nice South African cabernet. We were too full for desert. We loved every bite and would give this 5 stars!

Disappointing service (had to serve us wine ourselves, asked 3 timed to get the bill, didn’t bring cutlery service for our son). Food was ok but over-priced. There are definitely better steak restaurants in Munich!

Their service and food is to shame for. Unfortunately we celebrated the 30th birthday of my partner at this restaurant. We saw the menu on their website and decided to visit, it looked good (although there were 2 different ones on their website and then a different one in the restaurant again). Already when we entered we didn’t seem to be noticed, when they brought us to the table (half full restaurant on a Saturday eve? This should have been a sign to leave). We ordered a nice glass of wine, my partner 0.1 and myself 0.2, which hardly had a difference between the two glasses, except the price 6 vs 12 euro. We only ordered 2 steaks as we felt only a bit hungry… well I can say….. I can’t remember if I ever had such a bad gummy steak (not medium rare at all as I ordered). Probably a problem of putting cold meat on the grill? Check the Brenner restaurant (same chain/owner) they serve their meat perfectly. You would have known if you will ask your guest how the food is, but as you can guess, didn’t happen. I can go on and on, waiter with his shirt for 1,5 hours out of his pants, empty glasses and bottles which are not taken from the table, dirty tables all around from guests which left 1 hour ago, didn’t ask if the food was ok when serving and ignoring my “war ok” comment when taking the plates, 4 to 5 waiters but somehow all the guests had to call them to do their job. And maybe worse, not even 1 congratulated my partner with his birthday…… An experience to cry, and to be ashamed for if you are the manager, owner or investor.
