Food was excellent and the space was perfect for catching
Food was excellent and the space was perfect for catching up with friends. Each dish felt like it had its own flair. The stand outs for me were the focaccia with olives and the lasagna. I normally do not like vegetarian substitutes, but the lasagna was composed of a creative combo of food I wouldn't expect. I also like that they offered a few Amaro options at the end of the meal. The only criticisms I had are the portion sizes could have been bigger and I could've done without people constantly breathing down our necks to see if they could take the plates away when there was still some food left.

This is a lovely West Village restaurant that we recently stopped in for lunch, and for drinks and dessert later in the week. The server and bartenders were friendly and attentive, and the food is delicious. I had a nice salad and carrot soup at lunch, and blueberry panda cotta and a well-made hot toddy for drinks/dessert. The space is bright and cheery in the day, and low lit and romantic in the evening.

Delicious food! Incredible dinner, many options to choose from - plenty of veggies! Cozy atmosphere, welcoming and attentive staff. Mary Lane was a perfect choice for our evening dinner during visit to NYC!

Mary LaneVery good, hopping West Village spot with an open and pleasant atmosphere and friendly and attentive staff. We had such a good brunch! The butternut squash tart was creative and tasty. The shakshuka was one of the best we have ever had, well seasoned, fresh and the eggs were mercifully not over cooked. The shrimp Caesar salad with poached eggs was also perfectly prepared and tasty. (They know how to make the perfectly cooked egg.) Our server, Gabi, was bubbly, attentive and warm. We had such a great brunch and have added Mary Lane to our dining repertoire! (We have had such good brunches at Little Owl and Market Table as well, and, while all 3 are quite good, Mary Lane is our favorite.)

Try fighting fraud with your credit card company because the manager was in incompetent then undermined a good intentioned waitress... The manager, Roy, made our drink incorrectly (it's hard to do, but he did it) and then moved excruciatingly slowly remake the next order. He assured us our drinks were already made (later found to be a lie). After 25 minutes of waiting he said "buddies, chill out" and tried to insist we stop waiting for drinks. When he took over 25 minutes to deliver a properly made cocktail at the end of the night, the waitress said she was embarrassed by Roy, and how he had lied to us. She offered us a drink to make it up. Roy insisted no one should be embarrassed by his incompetence (and presumed lying) and tried to charge us. Now we get to fight the bill with Chase. Great staff but Roy can neither manage the bar, his ego, be honest, keep a promise, respect his staff or make a drink. Go literally anywhere else rather that deal with fraud due to false representations."
Be the first to ReplyThe Mary Lane is a jewel of a restaurant.
Gorgeous atmosphere. Excellent, knowledgeable and friendly service, and simply spectacular food. We are constantly amazed by the creativity and high quality, delicious ingredients in the beautifully presented food. The fact that the Chef can make gorgeous gf and plant based dishes is mind blowing. Cannot recommended highly enough.
Be the first to Replycocktails are fantastic here.
friendly staff. unfortunately the food is just fine. great for small groups ESPecially for brunch.
Be the first to Replyi went there last night for a birthday celebration .
The food and decor were excellent. However, before we could finish desert, the manager told us we had to leave, because he needed the table. We had spent over $500 for the four of us, and there were plenty of open tables at the time. He was very rude, and definitely ruined my birtbday celebration!Buyer beware. this is not the way to run a restauran!!

I brought some out of town friends here for dinner and it was the perfect spot. Great West Village location with a quaint and cozy ambiance and vibe. One of my friends was close to an hour late (he works in finance and got stuck at the office..) and they couldn't have been nicer about our delay in ordering entrees while we waited for him. I love the farm to table concept which is harder to find in NYC than LA where I moved from. For my main I had the duck (seared crescent duck breast, confit leg, brussels, glazed quince, hakurei turnips, fig compote, fall spiced jus) which was a very generous serving size (albeit it's close to $50). I'd definitely come back, maybe to try the lunch menu which actually has more options than the dinner menu. Make sure to make a reservation!

.. the geography of the location set high standards... and you get exactly what you expect. We were greeted by the hostess there was no tables available and she gently ask us to sit at the bar ... the bar was so clean and welcoming that we decided to eat there. Everything was delicious the staff very gentle. Prices are very good. Highly recommend.

Nice atmosphere, great staff, and lots of gluten free options! Unfortunately just about everything we ordered here seemed under salted. Still tasted good but just felt like it was missing a little something. I thought the cocktails were good but a bit overpriced. I'd love to give this place another shot for brunch.
Be the first to ReplyGreat new restaurant in West Village.
I went for brunch and loved everything I had. The focaccia was soft, warm, and flavorful. The veggies were well seasoned and packed flavor as well. And my boyfriend really loved the pork tostadas. We just wish we left room for the olive oil cake! We'll definitely be back to try it. Besides the food, the restaurant had a nice aesthetic and all the staff were so friendly and attentive. It was an all around great experience, and it's a great new add the the neighborhood.
Be the first to ReplyLet's keep this simple.
This is a phenomenal restaurant with top notch service, tasty menu, and an attractive crowd. We were lucky enough to snag a dinner reservation on a Friday night. I'm curious to check out their happy hour. I'll be back very soon.

Full disclosure: Came here for a work dinner (group of 6 on a Thursday night), so I did not pay for the meal. I have passed this restaurant several times over the past few months and have been wanting to come here to try it out! Food/Drinks: Appetizer portions are small, so if you're coming as a group, then you may need more than 1 portion for everyone to have a bite - Blushing Pear (vodka, pear, beet, dolin blanc): refreshing! Don't let the beet throw you off as the flavor is not predominant in the drink - New Havana (rum, sparkling, mint, pomegranate): also very refreshing due to the mint and pomegranate - Oysters on the half shell: delicious and fresh. Came with the standard mignonette- Jonah crab salad: love the contrast of the crab with the sweet apple and bitter radicchio - Long Island duck confit: wish there was more duck, but it was tasty! The spiced duck jus adds a nice flavor to the creamy grits - Hamachi crudo: we ordered two of these, and it was delicious and fresh with the pomelo vinaigrette. I like the addition of the crunch from the turnip and toasted hazelnuts - Spiced French Fries: Love the skinny style fries with chipotle aioli. We also got 2 orders of these - Brussel sprouts: Roasted to perfection and paired with sweet pear - Hudson Valley Steelhead Trout: Whenever a menu has trout on it, I usually tend to order this since this fish isn't found in many restaurants. Perfect temperature, and I loved the accoutrements with it. - Roasted Tilefish: the other people at the table who got this also really liked this entree with its more Asian style garnishes - Chocolate Hazelnut Cheesecake Tart: Wish the tart was a bit softer in texture, but I liked the flavor because it wasn't too sweet Service/Ambiance: Located away from the hustle and bustle of the avenues. Impeccable service with a beautiful warm inviting atmosphere. There is a bar and an outdoor dining area if you don't want to sit at one of the indoor tables Overall: I would definitely come back to try more of their offerings!

Be the first to ReplyI am very impressed with this restaurant group, and this
I am very impressed with this restaurant group, and this new place is up to their high standards. The space is attractive and warm, our server was a delight, and all four of us found our dishes interesting and delicious. As with its sister restaurants, The Mary Lane offers execution and flavor with no pretense. The crab salad was the highlight of the meal for me. Great addition to the neighborhood!

Brunch- From the tight, but professionally polite vaccination proof check to the comfortably spaced seating and the knowledgeable wait staff The Mary Lane hits on all hospitality points. Now for the food & drinks- everything is delicious like the Clinton Street level pancakes, the grilled chorizo and the duck confit, and pork tostadas. All great and plentiful. The French fries were exceptional. The Run for the Roses Old Fashion, Aperol Spritz and Bloody Mary made with kimchi all were first rate. Dessert was a slice of olive oil cake that was moist and served with a dollop of mascapone. We will come back to try dinner.
Be the first to ReplyI was really excited to try Mary Lane and I wasn't let down.
I went for brunch today and had a lovely corner seat. The menu is expansive and has something for everyone. I ordered the trout and my boyfriend ordered the burger. Both were fabulous and healthy portions. We stayed for a coffee and to enjoy the vibe of the restaurant. We'll definitely be back to try dinner.

Ambiance - 10. Service - 10. Get yourself the crab risotto and a cocktail. Enjoy a cozy evening indoors or out or even in the private room with a party. Don't forget to leave a note for your server in the little guest book. You'll want to make nice with the staff because you will be back soon.

The Blackfoot Hospitality team (also has Market Table, Little Owl, the Clam) hits it out of the park every time. The seasonal vegetable-driven menu at the Mary Lane is to die for. Everything is so fresh and flavorful. Chef Mike Price & Chef Andrew Sutin have created a true masterpiece! Not the mention great service and friendly staff team. A few of my favorite dishes include the Autumn Salad, the Vadouvan Curry Roasted Carrots, the Braised Chicken Cacciatore Ravioli, and the Sautéed Nova Scotia Halibut. The housemade black olive & rosemary focaccia is also a must. If you're not in the mood for a full-out seated dinner, their bar seating is awesome. For happy hour or just for a light dinner, it's perfect. They also have heated outdoor seating and an elegant private dining space downstairs. And lastly, you have to check out their gorgeous AR artwork by Steven Fragale. It's epic!!! One mural upstairs & one downstairs.
