The Miami Beach EDITION Reviews from The Last Year
EDITION MIAMI
EDITION MIAMI hotel, amazing design, amenities and excellent service. Paola Abrantes at the EDITION Miami concierge was absolutely amazing and extremely exceptional by providing us unique experiences in MIAMI, both restaurants and cultural places. Truly distinctive!
Almost 5 Stars
First time staying at the Miami Edition. I've stayed in the Mid Beach area and really enjoy this part of town - not as busy at South Beach and easy access to the Design District/Wynwood. Overall I enjoyed my 4 night stay but for the price vs what you get it was missing that 5-star wow factor. Not sure if I would return but if you are looking for a more elevated experience this is a great option. I had a lot of thoughts about the property/my experience so I outlined the pros/cons below: Pros: - Friendly and helpful staff - Spacious room - Delicious free coffee in the morning with espresso in the afternoon - Complimentary bikes - Great Gym - but did get busy around 9 am - Ample water provided through the resort - Spa was relaxing and the staff was warm and attentive - wish I booked more services! Cons: - Whenever the wind would pick up or clouds would be approaching the beach team would come around and put down the beach umbrellas as a precaution. Which I appreciate but when looking at the other resorts in the area, they all had their umbrellas up through the bit of wind. There was even a full day without umbrellas. With the UV index being 11 - it is hard to enjoy the beach without an umbrella and pushed more guests to the pool. - Hotel is starting to show its age. The lobby ceiling was noticeably discolored and my room was not as clean as I expected it to be and again the fixtures/floor/balcony in the room were showing their age as well. - Some of the beach towels were worn and discolored - looked like from makeup and spray tan - Breakfast and lunch at the Market Cafe was good but again few dollars more than I was expecting to pay plus gratuity was automatically added to the bill. I think cold brew was over $8! There's a Starbucks across the street. - I wish the outdoor casual bar/restaurant stayed open later. It would be a great place to grab a drink, catch some shade, and watch a game while enjoying the outdoors later in the day.
THE best resort in South Beach
Without question, the Edition is THE best resort in South Beach. From the minute you pull up to the entrance, you know this is a special place. Their attentiveness and care for you as a customer throughout the resort really shows. They are helpful, cheerful, fun and genuinely interested in you having a great time. We have stayed here a few times, and really never consider any other place to stay. The rooms are impeccably clean, quiet and the mattresses are a dream. The dining options are incredible. All of them are run by Jean George, a world-class chef. We had breakfast everyday in the Market. Incredible variety, super consistent and delicious. During the day, we typically alternate between the beach and the pool. Every staff member is so great. We were especially taken care of by Daniel in both locations. Drinks before (and after :-0 ) dinner at the Matador Bar is a must. (Ask for Chris or Matt; two bartenders who you will thoroughly enjoy their company, their creative mixology and they are genuinely good conversationalists.) The concierge team will help you at every turn! And don't forget about the basement entertainment center. So much fun! See you soon Edition!!!
Great time at the beach
The Edition is a beautiful hotel with a great beach, great food, and great service. Angelo, the beach attendant was awesome, and made the start to our day by the ocean amazing!! He was extremely attentive, helpful, and kind. Angelo is the absolute best!!
11 out of 10!
We had a wonderful time! The is super nice and helpful. Shoutout to Angelo who made our beach experience great. He was extremely helpful and attentive and went out of his way to find us the perfect beach seating (several days in a row)! Thank you for a great vacation, we will miss seeing you Angelo. Overall, the hotel went above and beyond. The food was incredible as well — Jean Georges did not disappoint! The facilities and rooms were also spectacular in their design and cleanliness. We loved how much there is to do too (bike rentals, bowling alley, etc). We will be back.
Anthony at the front desk
Anthony at the front desk is great, 9th time staying here, (4th in the past 5 months) Anthony ensured my 5 night stay was in a great room and I was checked in promptly and after a delayed flight and an arrival close to midnight- it was just what I needed. Staying here is always a treat but the personal touch of staff like him are what keep me coming back. I booked through AMEX platinum and am a Marriott Titanium, Anthony ensure my status was recognized and got me into a great upgraded room efficiently. This is truly my home away from home for business. Anthony is a true gem and exemplifies the luxury resort experience one comes to expect from the Edition brand
Dream stay at the Edition
My partner and I came to Miami for a much-needed vacation. I did a lot of research regarding hotels and finally settled on the Edition. It was a great decision. We loved everything about the hotel. It's a gorgeous property that is lux yet feels totally relaxed, beautiful in every way and with just a touch of whimsy. Our room was amazing; we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a great bungalow suite. The balcony, the bathroom, the shower, the giant tub, the wonderful robes and slippers... everything was perfect. Considering one of the pools is right in front of the bungalows, it was very quiet and beautifully lit at night. Ruben, Sergio and Karen are incredible (and helpful) concierges and each added something to our stay. The front desk staff was always helpful, too. And the food at the Edition is also special. We had two wonderful meals at Matador, sitting outside and enjoying the incredible good and the breeze. And Market is as nice of a breakfast spot as you could hope for. With a jean-george pastry bar at its center, really what more could I ask for? I was in heaven. Tropicale also gets the pool bar / canteen thing exactly right. And the epic lobby with all of those plants and plenty of room to perch is quite wonderful. We rented bikes and lunched in South Beach, at Puerto Sagua---very recommended for casual Cuban. Lunch on the roof of the 1 Hotel at Watr was very good, though quite a scene and you might want to get a table with a view to make it worth the visit. Lunch at the Setai / Ocean Grill was very pleasant in a predictable way but nice to eat by the beach. Los Fuegos at the Faena was excellent though quite a splurge; Faena is definitely fun to visit but so glad we stayed at the Edition. Dinner at 27, a few blocks from the hotel, was really fantastic. But again, Matador was superb -- we had the Arroz con Pollo twice, it was so good. And breakfast and afternoon coffee at Market was just fantastic--what a great room. Saw Madonna in concert which added to the fun. The spa is also gorgeous and we each had a massage with Jose, who is excellent. Just a dream of a hotel. I can't recommend it enough. Understated, relaxed elegance and exactly what we needed.
I went for a late lunch to the Edition Hotel in Miami Beach
I went for a late lunch to the Edition Hotel in Miami Beach I am a local and went with a friend I have not seen in a while. We ordered two personal pizzas and an appetizer it was just after 5 PM. Too late for lunch too early for dinner she had just arrived from out of the country the night before. She asked for a house wine white he said he didn't have it but recommends a certain wine with our order. The Bill Came with the cost of the glass of Wine $75 after tax and tip on the glass of Wine. I looked it up its a $28 retail bottle of wine. I think pairing that wine with a $25.00 personal pizza at 5:00 PM is well totally out of context and in my opinion in the best interest of the establishment and the server in his tip collection. I am not one to write a bad review this was truly unjust and would make tourist and locals feel taken advantage of. I left 3 messages and now 2 emails and no one has ever contacted me.
First time at The Edition
I must say it was a great experience. The rooms are clean, a bit small but the ambiance was stunning and the staff friendly and attentive. The bowling and ice skating was lots of fun. The food at Matador was excellent and the service was amazing especially Ely. Front desk staff Karen was awesome. Bit of a surprise was security. Security Tony at the gate to the beach was super friendly and assisted us getting around. At night there was Raul that was very insightful about the hotel and helped us get to some really delicious food spots for my husband and I. Usually when you go to a hotel security just stands around with no real interaction but these guys were attentive and friendly which was nice. I loved the pools, and my favorite was the clear water beach!!! Great staff at the bar with Daniel, Omar and Lisette. Over all our stay was wonderful and I will come back again.
The Spa at the Miami Edition is wonderful!
You MUST visit the SPA! The BEST massage I ever had. Jose Gutierrez got all my neck and back kinks out it was incredible. In the past I've had other massages that could never get the pressure right. He worked incredibly hard to get each knot smoothed out and I've never felt better. Thank you Jose!
Relaxing luxury
We escaped from a bad experience at the Betsy to salvage 2 nights out of 3 night trip to Miami. The public space and.grounds are so nice, the design is upscale casual and the crowd matches the atmosphere. Rooms are nice, showers huge. Service good. Small nits - sink in room not well designed. Faucet very low and close to basin, barely room to wash hands under it. Our dumb was clogged and they weren’t able to fix. The rollaway cot in our room was not great, mattress was not firm (compared to Ritz or Four Seasons). Also the hotel doesn’t provide much for Bonvoy Platinum members - no upgrades or late checkout.
Employee of the month Pierre
The chairs feels so comfortable and it’s clean. Pierre provided wonderful customer service and provided excellent hospitality. Very funny and made our time more enjoyable and memorable. I love the view of the water and the boats and I feel so much at ease.
Beautiful place.
Exceptional experience. The staff was unparalleled. The view from the Matador Bar was just fantastic. All amenities were very clean. Food and drinks were delightful. The beach and pool atmosphere were both very comfortable. The attentiveness of the staff elevated the whole experience. Highly recommend.

Incredible stay but truth be told, my boyfriend and I had the most incredible experience due to Michael who works at the hotel bar.. Service at this hotel is unparalleled and hasn't disappointed for a second. We'll continue returning to the edition when in Miami due to his hospitable and inviting manner. Thanks upmost Michael and the rest of the staff that continue making our trip memorable!
Beautiful hotel with uneven staff
Overall, this is a very good hotel. The pool areas are quiet and beautiful and staffed by very attentive servers. Our room was clean and simply decorated. I would have given a higher rating to the hotel except for the very slow and unorganized restaurant (Market) staff and the front desk staff, which dismissed my concerns about a screaming child in the room next door, who cried from 10 pm until 7 am. There was no apology or proactive effort to address the problem. I was told to call security if it happened the next night. That's one solution. But a more service-oriented solution would have been to have apologized, asked for my room number, and offered to change my room if something opened up. I don't have expectations that my stay in hotel will be perfect and I also know that traveling with a screaming child is stressful, but this hotel is priced too high for the staff not to know how to deal with a situation like this. I'd return for the pools, the property, and the location, but will probably look for another hotel if I return to Miami Beach.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent incident that occurred during my stay at your hotel from February 17th to February 24th. I believe it is important for you to be aware of the incident in order to address the concerns and maintain the high standards that your establishment is known for. On February 24th, at approximately 4pm, a female staff member entered my room without knocking on the door or providing any prior notice. This individual proceeded to instruct me to check out immediately with a loud and rude demeanor. I was taken aback by the unprofessional behavior displayed during this encounter. I understand that check-out procedures are part of hotel operations, but the lack of courtesy in this instance was highly inappropriate. I believe that guests should be treated with respect and that any communication, especially regarding check-out, should be conducted in a manner consistent with the hospitality industry's standards. Furthermore, the staff member mentioned that I needed to vacate the room within 30 minutes, or I would be charged a half-day rate. This ultimatum added unnecessary stress to my departure process. I believe such stringent and inflexible policies should be communicated in a more considerate manner, allowing guests sufficient time to comply without feeling rushed or pressured. As a guest who chose The Miami Beach EDITION for its reputation of excellence, this experience has left me disappointed. I trust that you will investigate this matter promptly and take the necessary steps to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to hearing back from you with a resolution.

This was such an amazing experience! Came in to see the game with my husband by the pool and the staff were super friendly and attentive! Amazing service couldn't have asked for a better experience great vibes! Liset and ray took great care of us we will be back!!!

I had an exceedingly disagreeable encounter with the concierge, Dilip Pathak, who consistently displayed rude and unprofessional behavior, evidently favoring individuals with higher spending capacities to offer more substantial assistance. The assistance provided was not only unhelpful but also included recommendations of notably substandard quality for places to visit in Miami. Based on my encounter, I strongly advise against utilizing the services of Dilip Pathak as a concierge. My overall experience was far from satisfactory, and I caution against patronizing this hotel due to the unacceptable service standards I observed during my stay.

Service: To start off, the valet service was excellent, the men were quick, attentive, and friendly. They handled our vehicle with care and brought it around in a timely manner. The front desk made check in super easy, they offered water and walked us to the elevators. The gentleman there way friendly and very polite. The cleaning team were also very welcoming and polite. Room Quality: The room was nice, however for the cost and hype around the hotel I expected a little better. Upon entering the room there was a lovely fresh aroma. The bathroom was gorgeous and beautifully designed. The bed was on the smaller side and although the view of the beach was lovely, it would have been nice to have a balcony; although I get the absence of one could be for safety. The room had two fluffy and comfortable bath robes, one had black and brown marks on the arm and back. The bathroom counter was a bit grimy and could have used an extra wipe. Room Amenities: Pretty standard TV, mini refrigerator, safe, iron, mini bar, and mini essentials all at a cost. Hotel Amenities: Aside from the beach and pool access, there is a bar with a bowling alley and ice skating ring to enjoy. The hotel offers serval spa service including hair and nail salons and maternity massages. Overall it was a nice stay, it lacked on the room cleanliness but not horribly so.

I was on business and going from meeting to meeting so I didn't really get to relish in the nice amenities like the gorgeous gardens, restaurant, etc. The room was very nice and perfectly appointed. Staff was super friendly and helpful- especially when I needed a VERY early am wake up call. The vibe is super chill and love the atmosphere at entrance with pretty green plants everywhere and candles. The only small gripe was the bar- it closed very early and getting a glass of wine was a stretch for them to accommodate. The drinks at bar were very pricey too. Overall, would stay here again.
Always an excellent stay here at the Miami Edition.
Everyone here has been the best!!! From the front desk to valet to concierge!!!! I upgraded my room after check-in. J.J. at the front desk was very helpful and accomandating. More Marriotts should follow in the foot steps of this hotel. I will always come back. Thank you for a wonderful time. See you guys again soon!

So, my first night started out in a disaster because of an unfortunate incident with one of the housekeeping staffers who poorly cleaned my room, before check-in. My shower wasn't clean at all and had fresh soap scum and a huge glob of gooey hair left out in the open big as day. I didn't discover this until I decided to take a shower at 1 AM. So I wound up having to switch rooms in the middle of the night. It was very annoying. After switching rooms, I realized I lost my balcony so they agreed to switch me to a balcony room when one checked out the following day. The reason I still gave them 5 stars is because, when I reported it to management they immediately got on top of it and rectified the situation and put me in a new room and had security help me move. I was gone most of the morning and afternoon, the following day, and when I returned to my room, I had a nice note from Michealla, Housekeeping Director, along with some complimentary treats and a bottle of wine. They have gone out of their way to make this right for me and I truly appreciate that. I got several other perks from them to make up for the inconvenience. I was assured the staff member who poorly cleaned my room would be dealt with and would not clean my room during my stay. It's unfortunate when u have a business and get a few bad apples who don't care about it as much as u do so I do not blame the hotel. It's hard to control who is down until something goes wrong. At the initial night of the incident I knew I would NEVER stay here again but after realizing it was an isolated incident and still being able to enjoy the rest of my trip, I would definitely stay again. Hope u enjoy your stay!

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
