This is such a great small chain fthat is a perfect spot for breakfast! They found this spot crisis are fantastic and food is so good The ambience is nice too. They have size selections, which I am much appreciate instead of having the typical two-piece Egg Benedict you can offer for one piece which is great for me they give you the most scrumptious biscuit with honey butter. Their coffee is divine. They have a selection of espresso and lattes, but the plain coffee is so good.

Everything about this place is awesome. Great food, fabulous service, love the ambiance. The manager, Quinn, made sure we were well taken care of. Overall outstanding experience. We'll be back every time we come to NYC for sure!
Be the first to ReplyGreat east village gem
Really loved this spot. Open, huge windows, full of light. I get the impression it can get busy in the evenings, but it was easy to get in for lunch on Friday. This spot has four locations (I think). I visited the original East Village location. I had the smith burger, with cheddar, bacon shallot jam, special sauce, crispy onions, and house pickles on a brioche bun. It was a great burger! Juicy inside, charred outside. Came with fries. For an appetizer I had corn off the cob, with tasty corn, ricotta salata, cumin aioli, and cilantro. Great starter! I had a few cocktails, mostly gin and vodka based. All light and refreshing. For lunch, they have sandwiches, lobster rolls, salads, pasta, and a couple entrees (roasted salmon, chicken Milanese, an omelette, steak, mussels). Dinner has similar offerings, with more entrees such as brick pressed chicken, country pork chop, grilled branzino, charred cauliflower tacos, and more. My server, Erika, was great! Attentive, upbeat, gave great suggestions. Another little gem in the east village.

Nice place, friendly service and hit or miss on the food items. I was debating between the RIGATONI ALLA VODKA & the RICOTTA GNOCCHI - decided on the gnocchi, but when the food runner dropped off the "gnocchi" it was decidedly alla vodka! Best mistake the guy made - my server eventually caught the mistake and brought by the gnocchi I had ordered. But the alla vodka was soooo much better. Not sure why they think that's gnocchi - it wasn't very good, kinda dry and even though the truffle cream was very tasty it couldn't cover for the gnocchi. Luckily the dirty martini made everything enjoyable. This is also a great people watching spot..if you're into that kind of thing.
Be the first to ReplyGreat soup! Great salad! Great steaks!
We need to talk about the ROASTED TOMATO SOUP! Who thought of this?? It's brilliant. It is a delicious creamy tomato soup created like French onion soup, with the croutons and the bubbly, broiled cheese across the top, crustily melting over the side of the ceramic bowl. I could eat this every single day, and in fact, I might just do that.

Diverse menu. Good brunch choices. Friends had raw oysters which they really liked. Service was excellent!

The Smith has a number of restaurants in New York City. Nice ambiance and the food was plentiful and enjoyable. Service excellent.

Confused by the high ratings. The setting was ok, the food was average and the price high. Service was good. Don’t think we will be back. Many better places.

Mid-day lunch and meet up spot calls for a consistent experience when you are pressed for time. The Smith delivers in each location and city you find it. The East Village location is no exception. Large bar like all locations and same ambiance as well in the rest of the space. Service is friendly and attentive. Staples like the Mac a& Cheese or a Ceasar salad will not disappoint. Outdoor and indoor seating is available to ensure upfront people watching interests. This place is always easy going. This summer they have a French 75 slushee. Talk about next level. Yeah we do Frosé in the NYC but The Smith just raised the bar. It was strong like the bartender warned. Pick your poison, or not, and kick back at The Smith. Good times always!
Be the first to ReplyBirthday dinner
My friend and I ate here for her birthday meal. We had eaten at one of the other locations on our previous visit. We arrived early but were taken straight to our table. The place was buzzing and we had dressed up for the occasion being a birthday but you really didn't have to. We shared humus and calamari for starters, both had a bit of a hit to them (as in spice) but they were tasty. For main, I had the chicken caesar salad which was a really decent size, all washed down with a cocktail. The staff were friendly an attentive. The menu isn't too vast and it's likely the only other dish I would have ordered would have been the burger

This was a great restaurant. Book ahead because it gets busy. Lovely cocktails, great food (oysters were a highlight) and friendly and attentive staff. Not cheap but not bad value overall.
Be the first to ReplyThanksgiving Dinner was a bust
Well, the apple and goat cheese salad was great. The service was friendly. The stuffing good. But they were incredibly poorly organized. Although we had reservations we, and everyone else had to beg a table about a half hour later. They ran out of the wine I liked. They took my wife’s order for Turkey Pot Pie only to come back a half hour later and say they had run out. Then, maybe twenty minutes later they told the folks at the next table the same thing. They made no accommodation to the price fixed menu for me despite my being diabetic and not able to have dessert. A glass of Wine or something would have gone a long way. Then my Turkey came out cold and bland. Even the mashed potatoes were cold. They did replace the meal pretty quickly with a semi warm meal but it was still bland and just as dry. Silly me for going out to dinner on Thanksgiving and expecting a good experience. At least it was expensive and they did try.

A group of 8 of us dined for dinner and it was great. Service was attentive and food was delicious. We did order the red sauce Sunday dinner it was lots of food. Caesar salad, chicken parmigiana pasta, ,garlic bread and a sundae. Along with the meal came discounted Chianti carafes. We also had calamari which came with a wonderful dipping sauce. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Highly recommend. We will be back.

Food was average. Weird-looking potatoes with the Smith Eggs Benedict and weird-tasting sausage with the Benedict Johnny.
Be the first to ReplyVery airy and chic. Good covid
Very airy and chic. Good covid requirement protocols. i enjoyed the kale salad. loved the photo booth downstairs. seems like an old building in the heart of lincoln square and many attractive spots for photos as well as the world famous juliard school!
Be the first to ReplyAlways special ...
We've eaten at the Smith 4-5 times over the year and each time it was a wonderful experience... Great food, creative cocktails, clever desserts, and attentive staff. Drinks can be pricey at $15 but they are interesting, delicious and unique. Old favorite entrees like BRICK CHICKEN was consistently excellent, and new dishes like the SEA BASS on wild rice and sweet potatoes was savory, interesting, and perfectly seasoned and plated. The Winter Citrus Panna Cotta was unexpectedly light and bursting with flavor. The SMITH has never disappointed us!
Be the first to ReplyGreat Brunch with Friendly Service
We walked in on a Saturday morning for Brunch at 11am. It was so busy so would definitely recommend booking. Even though it was busy the service was impeccable and with a queue out the door, we didn't feel rushed to get out. The food was delicious. Big sized portions though, I didn't even get through half of mine. We were grateful that we had a end table as the only downside we found to the restaurant is that they cram you in.
