Be the first to ReplyCozy, modern and friendly with amazing cocktails!
Brunch was excellent, the apple salad and the naan were our favorites. We were so impressed by the brunch cocktails too, definitely try the Raspberry Fizz and the Brown Buttered Coffee!

A busy Saturday evening spot, pretty crowded. Stopped in for some drinks before dinner down the street. Great mix of drink options. Bar staff were friendly and efficient. Busy younger vibe.

The Snug charges a “SF Mandate” fee, which is one of the highest I’ve seen in a while. The addition cost shows up like a tax by the city, BUT IT IS NOT. The city simply requires restaurants to provide healthcare for its employees, as they should. Most restaurants increase the price of their food so you see the appropriate cost when you order off the menu and SOME restaurants chose to HIDE that cost by making it look like a tax charged by the city, hence the so called “SF Mandate.”
That being said, food at the Snug is fairly good and the vibe / atmosphere is better. Their Brussel Sprouts are quite good, so are the Tater Tots, although the yogurt sauce leaves something to desired. Their burger is fair at best and comes with no sides. Their sweet potato fries are not bad. Drinks are par for the area; fairly good and about $14 a pop.
A great find! Great food and service!
We were at the Fillmore Street Festival and almost on a fluke went inside. The appetizers were awesome, ordered twice, pork belly and some 'special' rice. The wine selection turned out great. I discovered a new favorite red. Very busy and a little noisy, but if you're with your own group, it can be awesome. Service was very good especially considering it was packed. A little pricey, but very good!

Came with a group of friends while in town and we had a cool experience. Service was friendly and food was great. I enjoyed the variety of different types of cuisine and flavors on the menu. Also had decent cocktails. Fun place to go with friends for sure. Wish the took reservations though

Nice venue with great view on Fillmore street
Came for brunch. The breakfast burger was delicious.
However shiitake Humus (as previously reviewed ) was mediocre at best.
Only drip coffee available.
Service was OK - a little disappointed (but as said breakfast burger was great )
People at bar watching World Cup seemed to be having a good time and they had a long list of cocktails (which I didn’t try )
I would try again but not go out of my way to get there
Not Up to Neighborhood Standards
When the best things one can write about a restaurant are that the drinks and beer nuts were above average, there is definitely a problem. We visited for a late-night dinner and were disappointed in the quality of the food. The shiitake hummus and dill pickles were bland, while the charred little gem lettuce was akin to a wet paper towel, in both texture and flavor. The tater tots with horseradish sour cream were fine, and the beer nuts really were tasty.
Given all the spots that SF - and even this neighborhood has to offer - we would not return here.
Great Spot
Arrived in San Francisco after flying all day to visit our daughter. We were looking for someplace nearby where we could get a drink and some good food. My daughter suggested The Snug and we were not disappointed.
Eleanor hosted us and we had a fantastic time. She seated us promptly and asked what we would like to drink. She answered a few questions for us and placed our drink order. My daughter had an Aviation Gin cocktail and I had a Prairie Bomb Imperial Stout beer. She really enjoyed the cocktail and the beer was solid.
For appetizers we had the Truffle Corn Fritters (delicious) and Naan with Shitake Hummus (also delicious). They have a special oven to bake the Naan. We really enjoyed the appetizers.
For our meals we shared Charred Little Gem Lettuce, I had a Trotter hot dog, and my wife and daughter shared a Bodega Burger. All items were quite good. The term hot dog is misleading. The Trotter hot dog was more like a foot long bratwurst than a hot dog. I loved it. The food and experience were great. Keep up the good work. I hope we get a chance to go back the next time we are in the City.
