๐คฎ 1/5 - The amount of unprofessionalism with this hotels management

The amount of unprofessionalism with this hotels management is honestly hilarious. I should've listened to the countless reviews that said the same thing. We called the front desk the night before checkout and asked for late checkout. They told us it would be an additional $50/ hour and we were fine with that. $150 to stay until 3pm since our flight wasn't until 6:30pm. It was a done deal. They woke us up by calling us the morning of checkout asking why we hadn't left the room yet and saying it would be $450 unless we left by 2. The "manager" we spoke to literally hung up the phone on us when we requested a bellhop. She also refused to even give us her name or compensate in anyway for inconveniencing us and being extremely rude. She gave off a very 'I don't care about you or your problems' vibe. They should consider some mandatory customer service classes to their staff. Aside from that, I'm really not sure what's so great about this hotel. It's not funky or cool or trendy like their marketing team pushes. Their elevator is like a bad acid trip. The food is mid. The amenities are nonexistent. The only thing they have going for them are comfy beds. House keeping woke us up every single morning even with do not disturb hanging on the door. The rooms have the dumbest layout imaginable so get ready to stub your toe daily. And I'm sorry, but if you're going to make bathtubs your entire personality, offer some damn bubbles or salts or literally anything. Also, be prepared to use every single towel to mop up the bathroom after you shower or bathe unless you enjoy wet socks. Just do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. I know I will next time I'm in NYC
