Place worth going to eat or have a drink
Don't go because you're morbid, go to enjoy the food and the cocktails, the decoration and the nightlife. The food and cocktails are not cheap but it is worth going in - you can take some good photos. The decoration is really interesting and the building is beautiful.

We wanted to try an exciting hotel in Miami so we chose the former Versace Mansion. We stayed in Elton John's room.. I guess. It was very cool and everything I imagined it be. So over the top haha. I would stay again and try a different room. Breakfast was yummy too!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing other than awful irrelevant music
Absolutely loved it but really was ruined by the music. I was expecting to feel extremely Versace and Italian but the music felt like was just playing hot hits on Spotify was really disappointing and ruined the experience. The service was amazing the food was great. I just wouldn’t rush back as it didn’t feel like I was in the Versace mansion felt like a common bar.
Be the first to ReplyUnique experience in a unique building
Checked in here for eight nights and the experience was in our opinion excellent. The suites, theres only twelve on two floors and they are beautifully fitted out with most of the original decor, paintings, antiques, furniture and fittings that Versace brought from Italy to redevelop the building when he bought it - the interior is stunning. This is not a hotel, it's better thought of as a restaurant with rooms. The main business is Gianni's the restaurant that sits around the outdoor pool area, 300/400 lunches and 600/900 dinners daily. It is a precision operation, with no one allowed into the building unless they have a booking. The staff are excellent, all beautiful people dressed in black and well trained ,very efficient, and they looked after us very well. Breakfasts are exceptional when you have the entire outside area essentially to yourself and any other guests. We had dinner too and it was also superb. There's no residents lounge or private after hours bar, you share the public areas with diners from 11-4 and 5:30 until late. Your suite is your lounge, ours was enormous! - The bar is cosy and well priced, Grande Marque Champers at $125 and a great selection of cocktails. The Victor hotel next door(owners of the villa) allow use of their pool, gym and Spa to residents. The villa will provide towels for the beach. So, if you want a truly unique experience in a wonderful building on the marginally quieter end of Ocean Drive, this is definitely for you. If you're a 5* hotel lover, maybe this isn't for you, there's plenty big hotels up on Collins Avenue and further up the beach that will endlessly pamper you. Suite Price is expensive but VFM in my opinion - we will return!!
Be the first to ReplyGianni Versace's house
Of course we didn't have any drinks in this chic place. We went there just to see the place where Gianni Versace had lived. I never thought I would one day come and see this place with my own eyes. The house, since transformed into a restaurant, has kept its Italian spirit and its bling bling side so dear to the designer. The mosaic swimming pool is superb.

My first booking for three nights didn't get any response when I asked about room types. So, I changed it to just one night, which was enough. Some staff were nice, but others didn't seem to care much. The mansion's original furniture has been replaced with some questionable pieces. At $1000 per night, you'd expect better service, like AC concierge or turndown services. My room had too many pillows and curtains that I had to attend to myself. If you're interested in the Gianni Versace mansion, go for it, but not all rooms have his style, and some might be more basic. Don't expect lux service.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Lunch Experience
The lunch at Gianni's at The Villa Casa Casuarina and it was excellent. The whole experience was first class. The villa is beautiful and the atmosphere was excellent. The fixed price ($38) lunch menu is excellent value for money and offers a varied choice of dishes. Our experience was made all the better by our brilliant waitress Laura. I can highly recommend Gianni's.

pleasant experience as always. always 5 star cuisine, unfortunately the service this time was 2 stars, I had to wait a long time. There must have been some problems in the dining room. I will definitely return, hoping that the service has improved.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, good service
Excellent place, really delicious food, presentation, flavor, a sublime experience, I would definitely recommend trying their dishes. The beautiful place, the atmosphere, family friendly, highly recommended. The service is good..
Be the first to ReplyStay elsewhere, the hotel ordered a Suburban to the Cruise Port. We almost arrived at the Airport. Driver blamed hotel!
The hotel relies upon its link of being Gianni Versace’s home. Hordes of people turn up to have their photographs taken outside. The restaurant is really busy with non resident attendees. The Classic room was 3 star at best charging 5star plus prices. The breakfast had no cereals and only swhite sliced bread! Loud music played throughout the hotel meant sleeping before midnight was impossible. Bathroom was splattered with paint on the taps. No lift. An absolute disappointment and not value for money. We would never stay there again!

Absolutely wonderful!!! Don't miss this property & restaurant if you are in South Beach.. My regret is we only stayed 4 nights!! Could have stayed longer.. and will next year...Ate in their restaurant, Gianni's, 3 of the 4 for dinner and everyday for breakfast.. facility was amazing.. staff was great. couldn't do enough to assist with everything.. from the Antonieta at the front to Stefano the GM....and the waiters. GREAT.. and can not say enough about the food.. the ambiance.. the staff...2nd to none.. Wish I could give them a 10! on a 5 point scale.. our visit was that good...

A very good experience, perfect position, luxury location, very educated staff, good breakfast and very good restaurant, and the suites are a dream!! I will return as soon as possible!!! Only a negative point: limited use of the swimming pool!!
Be the first to ReplyWORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER - DO NOT STAY
We made the error of staying at Villa Casa Casuarina as a couple in early December and we were downgraded without compensation last minute "due to construction work" which did not happen. The staff were dense, unreceptive and rude. There was a loud and noisy party till 2 am, which kept us awake. Breakfast was mediocre, and the place looked wrecked. an absolute waste of money and the worst hotel experience we have ever had. There were no apologies or compensation. Do not stay here.
Be the first to ReplyMiami Beach hotel
A spectacular Italian mansion on the heart of Miami Beach. I went with friends for my birthday for the brunch and the hotel and the restaurant are amazing. All in all the good value for what you get! The rooms are huge and well-maintained with the same look and sophistication as the lobby and the restaurants downstairs. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyDO NOT STAY
If you value your safety, privacy, and dollar, DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We came to stay two nights from a Thursday to a Saturday in one of their regular suites. When we arrived no one greeted us but rather scolded us for just walking in and not having spoke to the hostess for a table at the restaurant. Which we were not there for, when I told her that she motioned for me to another young hostess who was more friendly I will admit. For over $600 a night stay do not expect help with your luggage. We were taken to the room. First the tv was not working. We called let them know and they did send a very nice maintenance man to come fix it which he did. That was fine. Next day I try to take a shower. The hot water was not working, called maintenance again. I left the water running to heat through but it did not after 30 min of waiting I had to take a sponge bath via the bathroom sink. Finally after I’m dressed a man arrives looks at it feels the water, doesn’t say a word then leaves. We pack our stuff go downstairs and tell them we just want reimbursed and we want to leave. The young girl calls the manager and they apologize and offer to upgrade us if we stay to a better suite, so unfortunately for us we agreed not knowing the worst was about to happen. We moved our things to the new room and then left for the day. When I say the day I mean the entire day. When we get back to our room that evening it was around 9 pm. No one had entered the room to re-stock the toiletries or bathroom towels that my husband had used prior to our leaving that morning, small detail but significant. We decided to stay in the rest of the evening to relax as I had been walking all day and I am 7 months pregnant. My husband fell asleep and I layed in the bed in the dark on my phone. At 11 pm I hear a key go into my door. I thought I was imaginings things. NO! A member of staff put a key in my door and without so much as knocking to see if anyone was in there they attempt to throw the door open! Luckily prior to going to bed I also locked the top lock so the door jammed but was still opened. When it did I screamed WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! GET OUT OF HERE!!!!! Without a word spoken they retreated and shut the door. The reason I know it was a member of staff is because they used a key. We had one the other keys are left at the front desk. I immediately called the front desk to alert them what just happened and the young girls reply was , “ I will make sure no one is on the second floor, no one should be up there. I said are you kidding me?! SOMEONE just tried to get into my room and it wasn’t a burglary attempt by a passing person who happened to be in there it was a member of staff because they had a key?! She said I will find out who did this. She never called me back never apologized nothing! I was scared to death to say the least. My husband got woken up from the commotion and of course went furious down stairs to find out what happened! He ran into a man supposedly cleaning floors at 11 pm and he admitted to trying to get into my room. The suspicious thing about all of this is the front desk girl tried to deny at first to my husband that anyone had another key and it couldn’t of happened. When he explained to her he already spoke to the culprit and they admitted what they had done she said that was a third party service they use and they give them a key to clean! To which he replied at 11 at night while the guests are in the room sleeping?! Furthermore they only have 10 rooms to watch for. To know who is staying there when they arrive when the leave. Should not be difficult? I have never felt so violated and unsafe in all my life! We were also told by management of the restaurant that there are no housekeeping at night period. We would have left that very moment but by this time it was well after midnight in downtown Miami on a Friday night, where would we have gone? So I had to move chairs and barricade the doors to try to assure myself no more attempts would be made to enter the room. I never slept a wink. Paid over $1600 for a two night stay to be terrorized and gripped by fear at the thought of being assaulted or robbed in the night by staff! I don’t know what happened to this establishment but they either need to close or sell to someone who cares about their guests! We tried to speak to the manager the next morning as we left promptly to which they were not available, not answering the phone so they said. When my husband spoke to the front desk the night before they assured him she would be there first thing to discuss the matter with us. The entire staff acted as if we were asking for another towel or saying we saw a fly on a wall. They do not care! I will never come back here ever and advise anyone with a brain not to either! Too many other fine hotels who care about their clients to stay then to waste the money here! I know this was long but I hope this spares someone’s time money and possibly even their life.
Be the first to ReplyA Very Special Experience
We discovered the mansion many years ago while visiting South Beach when it was still the home of Gianni Versace. As we were always a bit intrigued we decided to spend an overnight to celebrate a birthday. It turned out to be a very special evening. I will, however, start this review with a few things that I think should be improved. Check in is a bit unusual as it is done at the door of the mansion. Not very VIP. Little things in the room should be checked as our television was not connected properly and the outlet the expresso machine was plugged into was not working. Additionally closets had very few hangers. These issues are minor but for the cost of the room these issues should not be. Having said that, everything else was wonderful. We were in one of the Superior Suites and loved everything about it. I want to applaude the staff. Each and eveyone were EXTREMELY well trained and EXTREMELY cordial. At the moment we arrived we were very well taken care of in every way. As we had booked a package we had dinner at Gianni's. Although we had heard mixed reviews I must say our experience was wonderful. The food and the ambiance were first class. We sat on the terrace overlooking the pool and it was perfect. Marco was our waiter and due to his attentiveness and charisma we had the most wonderful dining experience. Marco is a gem! Food and service were excellent and noise level was not at all too loud to interfere with the dining experience. Is there music playing throughut the venue? Yes. Is it noisy at times? Yes. However Villa Casa Casuarina is an iconic venue that attracts people from all over the world visiting South Beach. This is to be expected. I have to say that by 11pm the noise had settled down and when we returned to our suite there were no disturbances. The venue is quite beautiful and lends itself to being a backdrop for Hollywood glamour. Our experience at Villa Casa Casuarina was spectacular and one we highly recommend .
Be the first to ReplyDISAPPOINTED - THEY CANCELLED MY BOOKING
BE AWARE - we booked the hotel for an overnight on 1st October for a very special occasion. But 3 months after confirming my reservation they cancelled my booking. I was furious. they said they did not cancel it but asked me to book an alternative date or they could book me a room in the hotel next door - no this did not work. ~anyway I decided I still wanted to visit the Villa and did so for lunch which was amazing. Lovely food and excellent service. I asked to speak with the hotel manager - after eventually getting her she advised that it was their policy to either cancel or change bookings - so if you are a loyal customer it really does not matter - they can cancel at the drop of a hat. After this experience I would never give the Villa my business if this is their policy to treat potential guests so badly. the hotel manager was apparently going to contact me after she investigated however 3 months down the line and i've heard nothing. This is such a pity as the Villa is stunning, great location and beautiful surroundings - it should have everything going for it. What a major disappointment. I did find an equally stunning hotel that could not have been more welcoming - reviewed seperately
Be the first to ReplyDon’t stay here if you like sleep! 😴
Don’t stay here if you like sleep! The property is amazing but it really isn’t set up to be a hotel. I’d consider it more of a restaurant with some rooms tagged on. There is incredibly loud music playing every night until midnight - so if you want to get a good night’s sleep, it isn’t for you. Also, the pool area looks amazing but is covered in tables for people eating in the restaurant, so don’t expect a nice relaxing time by the poolside. It’s fine if you’re just going to Miami to party, but I’m sure for $1,000 per night you can find better, more comfortable accommodation and just stop in for a drink to see the property - which is worth seeing.

One of the best experiences in Miami. The mansion is beautiful with lots of rooms and places to discover, especially the area by the pool. The food was also very nice, with many options for different tastes. We had a lovely time there and would definitely go back.
